Personally I'm not a fan of battered fish with its skin still on though because it never seems to crisp up nicely, it just gets a bit soggy. This is not a phenomena unique to the Paradise Fish Bar though so I do have to forgive it. Paradise is obviously very popular with a lot of the locals and school kids. On your walk up to Newington Green its rare not to see at least a few people holding bags of chips soaked in salt and vinegar. The service is always quick and friendly and the prices very reasonable. Paradise also makes a very welcome break from all the fried chicken chains which seem to dominate the area. I'd take fish, chips and mushy peas over greasy fried chicken and limp straw fries any day of the week.

We both had the large orders. We had a nice waitress and she informed us they cook the food fresh so it would be about 10 or so minutes for the food to be cooked. It is served with a lemon wedge and a very small pack of Tartare Sauce. On the table is a vinegar container as well. Although that vinegar tasted weak or maybe it was just plain white vinegar. I do prefer the dark malt vinegar. Crown Fish & Chip Bar also serve up Gyros (Doner) and other fried foods. They have plenty of sides such as salad, mushy peas, etc. to add on to your meal. Maybe if they didn't treat the customers like crap they would get better reviews.
