Our server was prompt in greeting us and getting our drinks. We all ordered their fish and chips which were above our expectations. The huge piece of fish and ample chips satisfied our hunger. I had the wild mushroom poached egg toast which was simply outstanding. I also had the tomato basil soup which was very good. My husband had the Cajun chicken on a bun with fries. It was very good. The fries were extra tasty. We had Stoke's Ketchup for the first time and liked that as well. There is seating inside and out. We opted for inside since the front seating is on a busy road. We elected to stay and put in a drink order. 20 minutes later she came back to take our food order, but no drinks were brought back. We eventually got our drinks and then 40 minutes later she came back and said that they lost our food order and we'd have to re-order if we wanted to eat there. I would've bailed at this point, but my guests agreed to put in their order again, so an hour later we finally received our food. I was not planning on dining at 10 PM. Overall, food was good (I had their meat pie). The place looks and feels like the quintessential English pub. Unfortunately, it was a pretty disastrous dining experience due to a lack of staff.

Still, despite that, I can't really say that it is one of the greatest pubs that I've visited.
