Maybe 1 cut below top-tier pub food. Scotch egg was a tad runny, and served with Oxford sauce that is more sour and less good than the HP Brown Sauce it replaces. Lamb Sunday Roast was a bit tough, and came with a paltry 4 roast potato segments of diminutive size. Service is excellent; consistently friendly and helpful. They are eager to fix things when matters go awry. The pub was recently closed for renovations, which seems mainly to have been making a new, larger Gents in the basement, and turning the old Gents' into a 2nd Ladies' room on the staircase.
