Perhaps the counselors are spread to thin to provide the individual attention we hoped he would get. Alex wanted to apply to a top tier school, Stanford was his dream school. The essays were our primary concern and Alex was having trouble putting his life into 500 words. I found Sandy online, spoke with her and immediately felt at ease. Sandy was was very busy but she made time to meet with my wife, Alex and me. My wife asked very pointed questions about her process and we left feeling very comfortable with her response. Alex met with her once a week for a few months and with her guidance wrote wonderful essays. Alex was admitted to the Stanford class of 2022 a few days ago. I cannot thank Sandy enough. I wish we would have found her Alex's freshman year, or even while he was in middle school. Her experience and knowledge were invaluable.

This is not a traditional school, they allow children to make mistakes and encourage them to find the answers. They support the children in learning how to communicate with each other in addition to teaching beyond educational standards in arithmetic, writing language science and so on. My children left Montessori and felt that the public schools were not able to keep pace with what they learned through these programs. They have both expressed that their public school experience is socially disappointing because the students are often unkind and treat each other with disrespect. While my children were encouraged to help peers there public student peers are often concerned with shaming and putting peers who are different than themselves down. Fox Valley Montessori taught my children that learning is fun, that curiosity is a value. My children learned to be respectful, they learned how to manage their work and it is serving them quite well in high school as they manage their time for finals and AP classes. This is not a traditional school, it is so much more, this school teaches your child what community is. Their Montessori education has prepared them far better than I could have imagined and I cannot recommend this school enough.

She did NOT feel safe at this school and nothing was done on the school's part. I will get our story heard and bring it to who will do something about it. St. Thomas of Villanova school is a close knit group of Catholic families, who are passionate about their children. The name of the principal ( Mrs Green retired ) and its respective multiple form of wishes were all over the road in a form of weather tested placards. Have you experienced extreme weather or just a simple rain. As you drop off your kids, there will be staff carrying those golf umbrella ushering your kids to and from the car.

Some of the instructors were decent, but there was a high turnover rate for staff at this location. One year later, and his reading levels have not improved at all! I think for my son to gain any long term benefits, we would have had to sink $50,000+ of money into this program. That is a financial burden and risk that we are not willing to take! Definitely, not worth the time, program cost and gas money that I put into my car! Currently, we have my son working with a tutor after school for 5 days a week (close to home) and we have spent 1/4 the money. The results have been MUCH better and my son is happier because there is less drive time.

Not many places can get a just turned 6 year old to sit and study in an office cubicle for 4 hours a day 5 days a week for 4 weeks during their summer vacation - and love it! I'm very pleased with her progress and it is definitely noticed by her teachers and tutors this school year! I am giving 4 stars bc I have yet to start the program with LMB but I saw the negative review posted here and had to share our experience because it was much different. I have had my daughter (she's 5.5) tested by 5 different professionals in a lot of different areas of expertise (occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, speech pathology, and auditory testing, and LMB in OP) to get to the bottom of why she is behind her kindergarten class in reading. Her school has a pretty intense Kindergarten program so I wanted to at least give her confidence in her ability to catch up to peers. Anyway, I felt the testing at LMB was top notch, and was very thorough with legs to each area. Their test came back with very similar results to other testers (not affiliated with LMB or even in the same state) but their approach to "fixing" my daughter seemed like a clear path over a 4 week period. I didn't feel like I was being sold to at all, I felt like they took the time to truly get to know my daughter (and even requested one more test the following day to gauge her against higher standards bc of her expectations at her school). I would not even be considering paying their fees if I didn't feel like Sierra (the director) and her crew hadn't spent the time with my daughter and actually had solid feedback. In addition, their findings mirrored what the other specialists found as well so it reaffirmed my gut instinct. It's not a cheap place but from talking with other professionals I know they yield proven results. I'm willing to try it this summer and will update my review once we go through it. I just didn't want people to be totally scared off by the unfortunate experience the other reviewer had. It's a frustrating and emotional journey when you're worried about how to help your child, and I would still consider LMB to help even if it's just their testing (which is WAY less expensive than the other testing we did! The actual program is what is pricy).
