He pointed me towards this place.... We each bought a roll and then got in the car and headed out. I used the title because it has become much harder to find and enjoy an honest donut that isn't pre-made by machine and then just cooked. Most grocery stores, well let's be honest ALL of them where I live have basically put the small actual bakeries out of business and traditional places like Crispy Cream and Duncan are not even shells of themselves. Shipley surprised me and I was glad for it. On my way home, a couple of days later, I once again stopped for 2 this time. I had a white cream-filled one and also an apple fritter. ONE thing to be aware of, is they charge extra if you use a card rather than cash. I had a debit card which does not have a surcharge but they added the credit card charge regardless......I felt this was a irritation about the debit card.

If you enjoy a filled donut, they are filled when you order, and you get to choose from marshmallow, Bavarian cream, or raspberry filling. With the heat, the iced coffee is also refreshing; the choices are mocha, or salted caramel - or the flavors can be mixed. I saw the donut shop would be open in a few moments, so we waited. Oh my, the donuts were light and airy, it had the best flavor. The kolaches were amazing as well. They have regular and jalapeño.
