I've never had their pizza. I was first introduced to this restaurant with the Dave's special spaghetti and I haven't been able to get away from it since. West Main Pizza and Spaghetti House has always been a special place for me since I was a little girl. My parents would take me and my sister and we would stare through the window into the kitchen and watch them make pizzas and play Pac-Man. I don't get to go as frequently as an adult, but I still love their pizza and spaghetti. This most recent outing was taking my SO for his first in person visit to West Main (I've brought takeout home before). As an appetizer we got the cheesy bread with jalapeños and for my main dish I got the small Dave's Special spaghetti. That spaghetti is freaking delicious and special. They add pepperonis, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms to their sauce. The portions are huge and the small is easily two meals for me. We have been going here for years and have gotten to know the owners, who are super sweet and attentive. My daughter has developed a friendship with one of the waitresses, Ms Arlene. They even put some of my daughter's artwork on the wall! I love the fact that the ambiance caters to their regular crowd. They keep the original feel of the restaurant, which is what we enjoy. When I seen the pizza at the table next to us I told my wife, "the crust doesn't look good"...and when she looked she thought the same. As suspected, it was horrible. I've had frozen pizza was better than the 10" West Main Supreme we ordered and very over priced. The restaurant was HOT, stuffy and the staff was even sweating. The staff all seemed to be miserable from working in the heat. The ceiling fans doest not do any justice. Don't know how long the building been there but the entire inside reflects being OLD and nasty. The place really needs to be upgraded. I feel the need to comment after reading so many reviews about the high prices. I was raised in Houma and I grew up eating here. The pizza has always been my favorite and now I'm lucky enough to be employed here. I used to agree that the prices were too high, but now I feel very differently. To watch the amount of toppings put on these pizzas every day is astounding. A large pepperoni pizza has over 100 pepperonis on it! The owners buy the best quality ingredients they can find and they do everything they can to make their customers happy. I am a server and my customers tell me daily how delicious the food is and always has been. Try the French bread toasted in the pizza ovens with both cheeses and both peppers: jalapeños and bananas peppers. This place is not cheap, rather it is expensive compared to fast food pizza places and chain stores. We love it for its quality and easy atmosphere. Please don't criticize it if you don't like it, appreciate it for a place that we grew up loving it and with many fond memories. Had like miniature looking meatballs, pepperoni, onions, and green bell peppers in it. It was just too watery and wasn't very tasty to my palate. Pizza on the other hand was pretty good. Had the taco pizza and thought it was just okay, but I really enjoyed the seafood pizza. I'm not a huge fan of eating shrimp, but I gobbled down this pizza. And the pizza taste is being affected by that amount. Also, your wage is being affected by the amount of toppings. They seriously need to cut back a bit on that amount. Everybody is for getting a reasonable amount of toppings, this is overkill. The crust also is terrible. If it wasn't as hard as wood in places, it was a soggy mess. I don't want this to turn into a battle about West Main Pizza. And your employer. Its not my intent to ruin this (your employers) restaurant.
