Brand spanking new store right at the end of Golden Gate parkway and 41. Right across the street from the Coastland mall. It's so new that westmarine.com didn't have the location update. So I used Bing instead to setup the location. I came in to see Capt Terry for questions on parts and repair of a reel. He retired and still teaches at the Captains school. The store is far larger than the previous two stores. Brighter and organized with wide aisles. This store offer a large supply of boating gear and fishing rigs. It was pretty busy on this weekend. Many of the staff were available to aide customers. My visit was fast, just got some power pro (line) that was on sale. I'll come back to familiarize my self with all of the stuff here. This store is horrible. We ordered a product for next day delivery and it showed up 2 days after. The store manager was unwilling to even refund shipping until I argued for an hour. The paddle board finally showed up and the box was different by 100lb capacity from what was on the West Marine 's website. They wouldnt discount anything very frustrating and they don't care. read more

I have been to this store once, even though they had 6 employees that I had seen there working not one asked if my wife and I needed any help. Then when we did ask one of them to get off of their personal cell phone and help, he sighed and said I guess. However he nor did anyone else have the knowledge to answer basic questions. Today I called to ask if they had 3/8 ID fuel line in stock ( I seen in for sale by the foot when I was there ) the guy on the phone says we only have gas line in precut 10' packs. I responded " do you not still have it for sale by the foot on the back wall?" He says oh ya we do but I don't know how much it is. I don't recommend shopping at this store to anyone. read more

The West Marine in Naples Florida is the worst I've ever seen The employees (all of them) are not knowledgable on any of the the products. I saw a display of rope clutches that looked good. They did not have any in stock, they didn't know the cost and finally said "get them on line" I needed a piece of rope with a splice on one end for my sailboat. They couldn't help me at all with that request. Then I noticed a banner on the wall advertising a splicing service. The employees knew nothing about this either. I asked about some other miscellaneous hardware. There were prices missing at the display. The employees knew nothing about this either. Each time I asked a question, the employee would call another sales clerk for an answer-----nothing, nobody knew anything. They all just walk around in a daze. In addition to all this West Marine's prices are way too high. They used to be a much better store but they have gone way bad. If I could rate it a ZERO I would. I went to West Marine to look at paddle boards. They had many to offer. I spoke with a sales person named David who talked to me about a floor model that he could give me for a very good price. It was an inflatable board but it had a defective pump. He told me all I had to do was call the company and they would replace it for nothing. The company said I had to get the pump through the store. After several conversations with David, he stated he thought the manufacturer would "probably" give me a new pump for free. My husband had come in separately and David told him the board company would just replace the pump. David & the manager who would not speak to me about this issue said they would either sell me the pump replacement or we could return the board for a store credit. The service was disappointing to put it mildly. I shop at a West Marine in the Chicago area often and have always been pleased. This was quite a disappointment. I would suggest people shop anywhere besides this shop. At the very least stay away from David. He does not stand behind his product, nor can you trust what he tells you. read more
