I was seated at my computer at 8:30 am with my cell phone by my side. Metro confirmed the appointment with me at least 4 times in the last week, most recently yesterday. Yet this morning, it was Metro that somehow failed to show up for the appointment. Meanwhile, Metro's email system kept prompting me to log-in to its "other" virtual medical visit system for my appointment, which its Sleep Medicine Center apparently does not use. I finally called the Sleep Medicine office at 9:20 a.m. They claimed to have called my cell phone at 8:50 a.m. to give me an access code; but my phone never rang, and no phone call came in. I declined to reschedule, as I am not sure this yearly appointment was necessary anyway; and I admit I was just salty about the whole thing. The most annoying part is that I spent at least 30 minutes yesterday preparing for the appointment so I wouldn't waste the provider's time (somehow I doubt the provider spent 30 minutes reviewing my chart.) I have never had these kinds of problems with Spectrum/Corewell Health's Virtual Appointments. MetroHealth needs to get its virtual appointment act together because the whole experience was just an enormous waste of my and their provider's time. I thought this would be a lot easier than going to downtown GR for an appointment, but somehow MetroHealth managed to make me wrong about that.

The dental cleanings are efficient and always filled with interesting conversation. It's counter intuitive for a dental visit, because it's delightfully distracting and a legit challenge to respond with an open mouth. Dr Jackie has the best bedside manner. She puts everyone at ease, Including elders and my parents. Above it all I have the utmost confidence in Dr Jackie's care and treatment, which for me and my family has run the gamut from simple fillings, to replacement fillings, periodontal care, tooth extraction referrals, and navigating dental treatment fear. Grateful for finding this practice to tend to my mouth and the dental health of my entire family.

He also insulted me in the means of with me being a typical poor 2nd round college student, and at the time paying out of pocket, he would be willing to give me a discount only if I wrote him a letter practically begging him to do so and lived in a manner that he deemed better. When I finally was able to find a way to get the expensive sleep study, he then said that I needed a machine that was rather costly. I ended up getting a machine from a family friend who lost weight and didn't need his any more. when I took this machine to the office to be set up, Chaparala basically accused me of stealing it by saying " who would just give you an expensive machine like this?" .. I would never go back here, even if it meant I was going to die.

Dr. Hoekzema is great, always willing to listen and discuss any concerns and/or questions. Julie, the speech therapist is also wonderful. She genuinely cares about every step (and note) of my vocal recovery. I feel blessed to have these wonderful people as part of my health care!

Because she was under the age of 18 at the time, a parent was required to be present (THANK YOU). From the ease of setting an appointment to the courtesy and friendliness of the staff, our experience here was incredible. Mostly, though, the dude that helped us all night? He was HILARIOUS and so very welcoming and funny, which was just what we needed. It isn't super pleasant to be all hooked up to wires, and not be able to sleep all night. He made it one of our best medical experiences ever!!! The facility was new and very clean. When they open for sleep studies again on-site, we highly recommend it!
