Ok, Levity Live. Interesting place. It's in a mall. On it's face it seems like a terrible business model. But somehow it works and has succeeded for like 10 years. They manage to get really big name comics and they offer open-mics for locals too. Guaranteed the comic will make a joke about doing a show in a mall in the suburbs, so just be ready for that. And don't laugh cause it's unoriginal. Been here a couple times but have never tried the food, but I understand the menu was recently totally redone and the food is edible now. There is a TWO ITEM MINIMUM for most, if not all, shows. Be aware that soda is $6 and beer is $7, so go ahead and have that beer. If you get on their email list a lot of shows will have discounted or free tickets, but not for the big name shows. It's kind of amazing they are able to pull this off. In my experience the waiters are pretty good at the pace and timing of the meal and drinks along with the show. And we've always had our check paid by the end of the show. read more

comedy show was great!! service was horrible. sat down and placed our order through the app. 10 mins later another couple was at the table next to us. there food and drinks came out before ours? we were then served our food. as i sat waiting for my drink to aririve so i can enjoy my food and not choke...especially my buffalo boneless hot wings it never came. 10 mins go by and i wave down our waitress to let her know we have our food but no drinks...2 soda's (pepsi). our food was getting cold and a drink would have been nice so i wouldn't choke. yet another 10 mins go by and i see our waitress in and out serving others. i flagg her down again and i say hi!!! we still have no drinks it's been 20 mins and now my food is cold. another 10 mins go by and still no drink. i get up to go speak with someone if they could get our drinks so i can enjoy my food that was brought out 30 mins ago. finally 10 more mins and the waitress brings our drinks and then says its her fault. shes sorry. girllllllll please go find another job. that was comedy all by itself! waitressing is not for you. other then over expensive food that i didnt get to enjoy. it was just okay. service sucks and it ruins everything. read more

Please note, I have NEVER felt the need to leave a critical review about any business, as a small business owner myself, until now. With sincere regret, my husband, two other married couples we have known for over 30 years, and I went to support Afro-Latino comedian Ian Lara because (a) He is funny, and (b) Representation matters, and if you do not show up and spend your money in support of comics, artists, etc., that look, sound, or experience life like you, they will eventually not exist. Starting from the very beginning, for no other reason than that is precisely when the ill-treatment began, we arrive at the venue and are immediately seated at a table that is uncomfortably sandwiched between 2 other tables, making it impossible to comfortably seat 6 people, 3 of which are over six feet tall. In an attempt to avoid 60+ minutes of compromised circulation and inevitable leg cramping, we adjusted the table placement slightly. It is important to note that at this time, there are 2 empty chairs at our table. Immediately after doing so, we were confronted by a rather combative staff member informing us that we must place the table back to its original position. Despite our potential discomfort, we willingly stood up and allowed him to place the table wherever he felt necessary. Did I mention that he only moved the table roughly 2 inches? At this point, we are taken aback by his hostility but are intent on enjoying our evening and a few laughs; after all, we are at a comedy club. A server finally showed up to take our drink orders, and he, too, had a bit of an attitude. Nope, we are still not laughing. After having moved the table back t its original position, the manager returned and asked the physically largest members of our group to scoot over and sit closer to one another. Given that there was minimal room to begin with, any closer would have involved some lap action. In response, we recommended they remove the empty chairs from our table to create the space he insisted on making. He flat-out refused. Apparently, empty chairs at this comedy club merit more accommodation than paying customers. At this point, we politely declined to compromise our comfort further and opted not to have half our table sit on each other's laps. Our drinks eventually arrive, and so does another staff member, this one angrier than the last, asking us to move closer to one another, and when we refused, he began to raise his voice, officially making a now unignorable scene. Realizing that we were not there for the smoke they were trying to bring, he eventually walked away. Soon after that, the check arrives. The bill arriving before we had (a) finished our drinks and (b) placed our order for a second round at an establishment that requires a 2-drink minimum seemed odd. Still committed to enjoying the show, we look past the oddity and the abrasiveness of our experience thus far until the manager returns yet again to our table, at which point he asks us to leave. Naively stunned by how LEFT what was supposed to be an enjoyable night out had gone, I politely asked him if I could ask him a couple of questions so I could (1) better understand what was really going on and (2) diffuse the volatility of the situation. He refused to speak with me at the table and said if I had questions, I would have to ask them at the bar, which is located outside of the main venue space. I oblige and proceed to follow him to the bar. Imagine my surprise when, once I exited the doors to the bar, I was met by 6 police officers, one for each of us. I immediately asked him if he called the police, to which he responded, "No, they were already in the mall." Yes, this place is in a mall. No, I do not believe they were already there. I proceed to try to reason with him and ask for a refund. He was not at all interested in rectifying the situation. He was entirely unwilling to entertain the notion of issuing a refund despite prohibiting us from seeing the show. He was utterly unconcerned about our customer experience. He refused to give us his name or business card. He was accompanied by a more senior member of the staff, who also seemed to have forgotten that they are in the service-entertainment industry. Never having been asked to leave any establishment before in almost 50 years of living, and out of slight fear of further escalation, given that half of my group is of Afro-Caribbean descent, I felt compelled to approach one of the police officers to explain the situation. He was very gracious and "highly recommended" that I contact ownership. Needless to say, we leave without further confrontation and after being subjected to extensive public humiliation and unwarranted disrespect. * There are a number of other comedy clubs to choose from, do yourself a favor and do not take the risk of a similar encounter, avoid Levity Live. * Comics should think twice before booking shows at Levity Live, or any other venue that treats their fans with such disregard. read more

I am so disgusted right now. I arrived at 9:20pm for the Kings of NY comedy show. The doors were supposed to open at 9:30 pm for a 9:45pm show. Well it's 10:25pm and after standing on line for over a full hour, despite already having tickets, not 1 person has come to explain to this huge crowd why we are not inside the venue laughing our asses off right now. My husband just went to find out what the holdup is and they told him the 1st show ended late and the crew was still cleaning up for the 2nd show?! Seriously?! And no one even had the decency to come to the line to explain anything or even offer us a drink of water. This is very unprofessional and I will not be coming back here again. I don't give a F how good the show is, for this venue to treat people this way is unacceptable. read more

I went to Levity Live for the first time at the end of October and I was impressed with the venue. Situated in a HUGE mall I wasn't really expecting much, but once you walk in to the venue you are transported to a land of comedy and laughs. We were greeted right away after we picked up our tickets by a friendly host who escorted us to our seats. The venue was pretty empty as it was a Wednesday evening with torrential rain, but we still had a good time. All the comedians made us laugh and they still brought a great show even though there were only about 12 people in attendance. The opening comedians were on for only a few minutes so the main act came up rather quickly, which I always appreciate. The seats are pretty comfortable and the tables are big. There is a 2 item minimum per guest, but thankfully our super waiter didn't stick to it. Bigger tip for you sir! We all ordered drinks and shared two appetizers, the spinach dip and the vegetable spring rolls. The spinach dip was pretty good and big enough to share between the 4 of us. The vegetable spring rolls were very disappointing, kinda mushy, so I think I will skip that appetizer next time I go. I definitely plan on going back now that I know about this venue and how nice it is. I'll pick different eats the next time around though. I hear the pizza is pretty decent! read more

We had a great time watching Christopher Titus worth the price. Even though we missed a few of the jokes because a couple though they were in the diner and talked through a lot of the show. A bit distracting and rude. You can't fault a place because 2 patrons are rude. I am glad the people around them were more civilized or it would have destroyed the show. We wanted a different kind of night out and did we ever get what we wanted. Arrived at 6 for dinner, followed by show featuring Orny Adams, truly one of the funniest stand up acts I have ever seen. The emcee was great and the food not bad. Great wait staff and gorgeous place. Be forewarned, go early to find parking, the mall parking is a nightmare, but well worth it. Great for a group night out as well as couples, sit near the stage and you will be a target, but all in good fun. A funny, great night out for everyone. I would go back again! read more

I've been here a few times with my husband - all to see some more famous comics (Steve Byrne, Chris D'Elia, Russell Peters, Chris Hardwick). Despite the super weird location inside the Palisades Mall, it's actually a decent place and they get some good talent in there. Of course every comic's routine opens with a bit about how odd it is that they're in the mall :p Tickets require a two-item minimum, so you could just do drinks or you could get some food. The food is decent but the portions aren't large - I wouldn't have dinner there, but instead a snack. Once you're in their system, you get texts and phone calls about free tickets pretty often. I guess this is when they're trying to fill up a show that hasn't sold out yet. The two-item minimum still applies. It's good to go with a few people because they sit you at tables with other couples in order to fill up the seats. If you go with another couple, you don't have to sit with strangers. :) read more

This is my favorite place to see a comedy show - and I live in Long Island so I drive an hour to get here. We've seen DL Hughley here and most recently, Sommore, and both shows were great. What a great place, reminds me of a Las Vegas lounge/show room. Clean, good service and big names and good air conditioning. Levity is part of the organization that includes the Gotham Comedy Club, which brings in the big names. This is NOT an inexpensive place. The drinks (including beers) and the food are first rate and the crowd is well dressed and respectful. I was able to order an IPA "imported" from California as well as two fancy drinks, minus the umbrellas, similar to what you would see on Bar Rescue. I also ordered the short rib and brisket burger which I enjoyed tremendously, along with a bacon strip appetizer, which somehow mysteryously disappeared before finishing them. The tie and jacket management as well as the waiters and hosts appear to be very well trained...and the bathrooms were clean. I'm not a geek, but was impressed by the wireless "tablets" the waiters were using. Considering what the tolls an parking cost to go to NY City, it's better to come here than the city. The bill just for myself including tip was just over S60.00, not including the cost of the ticket. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and check up on us numerous times. This was our first time here and won't be our last we came to see the wayans brothers. Huge theater lots of seating. We're lucky enough to sit in the front row so we can literally see marlon wayans sweat lol... We started of with a 24oz souvenir glass of Sam Adams Oktoberfest! Which adds up to 2 beers and is relatively big for $14 the good thing about that is the refills are only $10 and you take home the glass can't go wrong with that:) Now the food. We started with the chicken fingers with ff . Huge portions you get 4 tenders and the French fries are freshly cut. What I liked about this place is how fast the food came out. My husband had the short rib burger and I had the French dip sandwich. Both were amazing I was so excited I forgot to take pictures but in the middle of the meal I remembered. The burger was cooked to perfect temperature and my French dip was amazing... I don't know why the previous complaints in the food here unless levity just stepped their game up. I thought we were gonna b the only ones eating here with all the restaurants around the area but I was wrong almost 90% of the people ordered food from wings to pizza to salads and steak! We had lots of fun! The opening act, Vladimir, was hilarious. "Tropicana for ju..." I would definitely see him again. He came out after the show to say hello. Cool, humble guy. Wish him the best of luck. The host was funny too. Almost had a couple married right there on stage, lol. We got a chance to experience Pablo Francisco live. "In a world...." (dark voice.) Very funny guy. Sorry to say he is getting older. Not what he looked like when I first found out about him a couple of years back. Funny none the less. The menu had good choices. Nice variety. I had the vegetable spring rolls, buttered popcorn in a fancy pants cup, and two Lemon Drop Martini's. My husband had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries. I think he ate it.... I've never been in a room full of socially dysfunctional suburbanites with tourette's syndrome before but I have a feeling the 8pm show from Thursday night (3/15/18) was about as close as I'm going to get. Listen, if the room is half full and people come late please seat them in the back if they refuse to sit with others. To have to listen to them loudly unable to understand the amazingly incomprehensible 2 order minimum policy while looking at their cell phone (of course) was so painful that it was a waste of 20 minutes that interrupted the show and guests. The same lady continued to blurt out during the show and when the comedians attempted to engage she then became quiet, wow, just stfu and let these comedians do their thing. Eventually EVERYONE began chiming in and these poor comedians had to engage with a room full of children thinking it's appropriate to interrupt professionals working on their craft. LA girl who learned what vocal fry is shouted "now I want to punch you in the face" minutes after she finally comprehended the insult. Someone yelled out in response to a vanilla "Peruvian dentist" reference and I'm delighted we received the lengthy financial aspirations of a nurse with desires to earn more money and a per diem increase (she left early, of course). This was an 8pm show so I'm thinking it wasn't that everyone was drunk (we were in a Rockland County mall so who knows), perhaps they were just rude pos people who don't have the stones to sign up for an open mic themselves. Servers were cool and we had no issues in that arena, just a sad lot of an audience who clearly never get out and felt it appropriate to shout at the performers. I really like this place. They have great acts and it's a good vibe. Comedians do a meet and greet after the show and take pictures with you which is always a plus. The food is good and it's a nice putting for groups. They have famous people coming through so if you're thinking about buying tickets be sure to look at the schedule and try and book in advance if you want to someone famous. Seats are limited. It's a sizable place but sells out quickly. read more

The staff is very nice and understanding. And, I can get past the "two item minimum." But the seating is absolutely ridiculous and absurd. We weren't there when the doors opened, so it's understandable we weren't in the front. However, they put us and many others in tables where half our group faced the stage, and the other half (me and my wife, had our backs to the stage. Additionally the table behind us was so close we couldn't just turn our chairs around. So we had a choice. Either just listen to the show while watching the wall, or half turn around and have our necks and backs hurt the entire evening. Here's a tip, worry less about stuffing as many bodies in the room so you can make as much money as possible, and worry more about creating a positive experience so people will want to come back. I will never come here for a show again. Which is a shame, because the venue in and of itself has a lot of potential. read more

The strangest layout I have ever seen. Why would you have tables facing away from the stage? We bought VIP tickets that meant absolutely nothing where you were smushed at table with other people. Because the tables were turned away from the stage you had to strain your neck to see anything plus there were the uncomfortable chairs. Even the comedian noticed how the mood was off because everyone was so uncomfortable. I also sent an email prior to the show asking a question and was never responded to. The greeters are nice. Ticket people are nice. The servers suck. The second act was on and our table of 9 still didn't get their drinks. The drinks finally came out, warm, warm glasses ..... the two drink minimum forces you to have two drinks on the table at once. If i order two beers for the night, i don't want them coming out at the same time. Half our drinks were served to the table and the other half waited and waited and by the time we wanted another drink , we were told it was last call. Not friendly servers. Too young to be serving adults. You need to be social and friendly to be a server. The food is subpar to bowling alley food. The portions are PUNY! Also , what's with the noise control? The table next to us wouldn't shut up and we missed half the show. I had to say something to the table because the people who work there don't care if you hear the show or not. 5-year update. We've seen dozens of shows at Levity Live since my first review in 2012. I'm happy to see them doing an amazing job attracting great comedians and I appreciate not having to drive to the city or Tarrytown to get a good dose of comedy. You can discount reviews from anyone complaining about the seating or the comedians. They obviously haven't been to many clubs (NYC clubs are notoriously small, cramped, old, smelly, massive fire hazards and have spotty service) as the spaciousness of Levity, new(ish) seats and tables and a noticeable lack of anxiety over the possibility of suffering a fiery, trampled death (See my comment about NYC Clubs) make it a great venue. Not to mention the comedians!!! I ding them on their menu and drink selections. I don't think their food or signature drinks have changed much in 5 years. We ate there at the beginning but normally now just order drinks. I'd love to see a new menu (or menu items) and some additional options for spirits. We're scheduled to see about 4-5 shows this fall. read more

Awful service- if you are understaffed you need to limit your menu options. Drinks took over an hour and food was well over two hours- it finally arrived at the end of the show.
