So where can I start with this--- Had my dad's 6oth birthday party here on Saturday May 10th 2025. We had visited this place in January and fell in love with it, and thought that it was perfect due to the view of the water, and the cocktail hour as well as ballroom plus the bar. Also due to large families on both sides, we were looking at catering halls to have my dad's party at. It was a perfect setup! This was also the first place we went to while party planning, and the one we decided on, ultimately due to price. Can't remember the name of the person who helped us, but very communicative and understood our needs. My only suggestion is to maybe provide the planning people to try their food. He listened to our needs, and was accommodating, which is important. Even threw in cocktail hour options for us. Party day was Saturday May 10th 2025. Loved the outdoor area as being outside was enjoyable. Cocktail hour was also enjoyable with foods like chicken dumpling, coconut shrimp, and more! They had plenty of cold stuff like pasta salads, salad, butternut squash, and some fruit. Only feedback is maybe more items like potato salad, maybe have some of the hot items so that people can just get up and get more. then came time to be inside the ballroom-- and it was beautiful and big! There was dancing, cocktails, and fun galore. Loved my shirley temple that i ordered-- with the waitress. Speaking about the waitresses, they were very pleasant- however, they did take items off the table that maybe someone wasn't done with that item. Trust me, i've been a server at a restaurant- silent serving is a thing, but never assume someone is done, or take their plates without asking. that's my only feedback-- oh and my mom asked that the favors be on the tables, and there was 2: a bottle opener, and something else plus a pen. My mom asked to evenly spread out throughout the tables, but some people got the same favors..... okay. Maybe whoever did that didn't know that there was 2 different items. anyways. Food was also very good: our option was menu options with pasta, which was penne ala vodka, salad, and an entree choice of figlet magion, salmon, and chicken sambolka. There are more options for the dinner, but we chose that. Food was very good, and lots of people like their food. I liked the salmon, for instance. others like their steak, although the lighting made it look well-done when they ordered medium! lol Sundae bar was the best, but there should have been more toppings like gummy bears, or worms, chocolate syrup, whipped cream! I came here for a wedding and it was beautiful! There is a cute town center nearby, and an absolutely stunning view (for pictures) on the waterfront. The foyer is a good size to welcome guests, but I found one things strange.. the ceremony was outside and you need to walk through the cocktail hour room to get there as they were preparing to set up. Also, you could see into the reception room as they were setting up. I just thought that was taking some of the element of surprise away, but it was all around stunning. The space is definitely cohesive to making sure everyone was having a good time. The dance floor is super welcoming, and right near the entrance, and can be seen from every table. read more

As soon as I walked into The View on the Hudson, I knew this was the place for us to celebrate our wedding day. I had no idea that everything from the food, to the service, to the way we were treated from start to finish would be as amazing as the venue is beautiful. As soon as our guests arrived, they were greeted with smiles and a glass of champagne accompanied by the amazing breathtaking views of the venue. My guests raved about everything! The cocktail hour food and drinks were delicious and plentiful. We had about five different stations in the cocktail hour alone, ranging from Italian, to Chinese, to seafood and a potato station, among others! Our guests were impressed with how delicious everything was (which isn't usually the case at weddings), and still today- two weeks later, they're still talking about it when we see them! My bridal party had two different bridal suites, one for the bridesmaids (which has a beautiful balcony facing the river view) and one for the groomsmen. The servers were extremely helpful and consistently catering to all of our immediate needs. I, as the bride, was assigned my own bridal attendant; and she was amazing! She provided my husband and I with food at our bridal suite and followed us around while we took pictures so that she could help me with my dress at all time (truly, I loved her!) The View is packed with picturesque settings. The different chandeliers provided for such beautiful pictures! The venue has recently been renovated and it is more gorgeous than ever. Finally, Vincent and the entire team were amazing to work with! Vincent was supportive, understanding, and attentive to our specific requests. He worked with our schedule and was always quick to respond to our emails and phone calls. He always greeted us with a smile and truly made us feel like we are a part of The View's family. I felt supported and comfortable through the entire wedding planning process. I am so grateful to the entire staff of The View for making our wedding day truly amazing and unforgettable for my husband and I and certainly for all of our guests. On one particular day when Vincent was off, Rich was also extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Their entire team is accommodating, supportive and truly great to work with. Beautiful venue, terrible food and rude services. I tried to tell my waiter about my allergies (including dairy) and he just laughed and proceeded to bring me lasagne covered in cheese. My friend asked for him to bring a plate with just greens and rice but at this point I was so disgusted that I lost my appetite. The broccoli felt cold and I was told by other people not to try the rice. At least the appetizers before the wedding were good - some of them at least. And thank goodness I packed extra snacks in my purse. Good to know that i shouldn't plan my wedding here. read more

Just attended a wedding here yesterday. Beautiful space right on the water, the views are spectacular! The ceremony faced right out toward the water which was beautiful. The only nit-picky comment would be that during the ceremony, the servers were running around preparing the cocktail hour, but it was a little noisy and caught my attention a few times. The cocktail hour was in a beautiful room and had plenty of options. I definitely enjoyed the sushi and fried rice. The wedding we attended was on one of the first colder days of the season so since the room was mostly windows so that the guests can take in the views, it caused the main room to be a big chilly, but nothing a few drinks and some dancing couldn't take care of. The food itself was delicious, I had the salmon which had a nice glaze on it. However, something I didn't realize, and didn't ask so it's my fault, was that I wasn't sure if the rice was mixed with farro. After consuming more than half of it, again not paying attention maybe it was the gin and tonic lol, I realized that it may not be all rice so I stopped eating it. It was a bit bland anyway - just a filler. I ended up not feeling great later in the evening but it would be hard to pinpoint if that was it. What a fantastic venue to have a wedding. My co-worker got married here. They did a great job in picking this venue. This place is such a beautiful venue. Area wise, it is in a quiet neighborhood in Piermont, NY. No need to worry about loud noises except when you are partying inside. The view is amazing. There is valet parking. The space is great. The wedding staff was very friendly. The cocktail hour was delicious. They had pastas, salads, sandwiches, fruits, craving station, seafood, vegetables, assorted cheeses and meats. The wedding reception meal was incredible as well. They served mozzarella salad, spinach salad, chicken, steak, red snapper, assorted desserts. My fiancé and I recently sat down with Joseph and have had an amazing experience working with him and his team. It's been a challenge planning a wedding during COVID, but Joseph has been in constant communication with us and is always available and accessible. They've been so accommodating, understanding, and easy to work with. Not only is the team fantastic, the venue is absolutely stunning. We were blown away the moment we stepped foot inside. There is no comparing to the elegance, it's simply breathtaking. Picturing your wedding here is simply a no brainer. Additionally, after touring numerous venues in the area, Joseph hands down has the easiest price breakdown to follow. Where every other place we toured would throw in additional fees, amounting in thousands of extra dollars ("Admin fees", "facility fees", etc.), Joseph didn't believe in this. We were floored and thrilled to hear this from the most gorgeous venue we'd seen. I truly cannot say enough great things about this place and these people. I highly recommend them!!!! read more

My son and daughter in law had their wedding at The View on the Hudson at the end of May 2021. Like many weddings this year it was postponed due to covid. Their wedding was a success due to the personalized treatment from the staff at the view. A big shot out to Rich who was their contact from beginning to end. Our guests all had a great time. Yeah, the place is beautiful, the space is pretty spacey, the view from outside is amazing! We came here for a wedding and the staff here seemed very nice. The wedding went without any problems (at least to my knowledge). the bartenders were pretty nice, especially Paul who kept making me new drinks every time I asked for Paul's special. I thought it was beautiful, but I wish the main room had views to the outside rather than curtains all over the walls. Also, the area designated for the band was a bit simple and under decorated, they could have used a small stage, or at least curtains behind to make it seem like an area and not the corner behind the bathrooms style. again, the wedding was simply beautiful and the cocktail hour space offered beautiful views of the river and Tappen Zee bridge. Went to the view on the Hudson for an event. And I must say it is called that for a reason. The view is superb. it really does have a great view. The venue it's self is gorgeous but a bit on the small size. I did not like that you had to walk through the cocktail area to get to the ceremony area. I feel like they should have had the area already set up or set up during the ceremony and not during the entry time for all the guests to see. The cocktail hour was ok. The food was just average. And the breadsticks were stale. The appearance was great. They did have a raw bar which was fantastic. Very fresh over at the raw bar area. The reception area was beautiful but a little dated. Mostly the chandelier. It was huge and very low off the ceiling. I would suggest to take the candle sticks off the light fixture and raise it about 5 feet higher to open up the room. I did not like that they didn't have a bar in the reception area, but they did make up for it by bringing drinks to the table. The one thing that made me give this 3 stars instead of 4 is that when they were clearing the table before dinner they took my roll without asking me. I specifically buttered it and left it on the roll plate so I could eat it with dinner and when I turned my head they legit just took it without even asking me if I wanted it. I had my May 2007 wedding here, but only recently discovered Yelp. BRIDES BEWARE! My florist made me two wreathes for the doors of the venue (they were $900 total) and the owner of the venue said they weren't allowed to hang them. Bummer, but rather than give us another option - put them on a chair, hang them elsewhere - they were thrown away! The site has no dedicated outdoor ceremony space, they set up chairs in the grass and have the alter on the pavement of the public sidewalk. Two uniformed workers stand on each side and ask people to "kindly go around", and for our 20 minute ceremony no one really minded waiting. There were some strangers who watched, though. During the ceremony one of my friends snapped a photo of one of these waitstaff members throwing up gang signs and goofing off, in full view of my guests. Way unprofessional! My florist was not allowed to set up on time and had to rush (this place is super fancy and my florists were a punk-rock artisty couple - I think they were miffed that a tattooed guy was running around working in their beautiful hall.) They were also not allowed to put flowers on the cake like I had requested, so my cake was bare. The bakery that we had to go to to have the cake made had put a fondant ribbon around the base of each cake, and the seam was highly visible. *I* could have made it look better! The maiter'd, Howard, is snooty and talked down to me a lot. There was a misunderstanding with table cloths and he screamed at me three days before the wedding about how this was not going to be easy to fix! I was stunned and didn't know what to say (the error wasn't my fault, it was my mother in law's, and she wasn't there so I truly didn't know what to say, or how to fix it. I suggested he call HER, and he waved me off.) The venue is beautiful, and the service was top notch, but if I had to do it again, I would pick ANYWHERE else. read more

The setting is amazing The price was right They catered to us from the deposit to the end of the evening. Howard was nothing if not consistently helpful. One wedding at a time. Howard invited all my early arriving guests inside the space, handed out champagne and didn't rush us out the door at the end of the night. Cons: The space is slightly dated but totally typical of any catering venue that isn't specifically billing itself as off beat or multiple use venue. Howard seemed a bit uncertain with the boisterous drinkers in our group, but he took it very much in stride and made sure to take extra care that they were well fed. We had our wedding at the View in January 2012 (this past January). Beautiful setting with huge windows looking up (not across) the Hudson, which was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony since we couldn't have it outside in the winter. The cocktail hour was in the room next door, again looking up the Hudson. Then when the ceremony chairs etc were broken down, the reception was in the large room where the ceremony had been. Harold was fantastic. He's a little set in his ways, but if you don't have an event planner/coordinator, he is perfect for you (he was perfect for us). He timed everything, told us when to go where, and everything went so smoothly. Although they didn't turn on the heat until about an hour or two before the guests were to arrive, so the family members etc who showed up for pre-wedding pictures were FREEZING. Again, that's a winter problem, because it's a big place to heat up. The price was great, of course it was in the off-season, so that helped, but it was within an hour of Manhattan and so much less expensive even at that time of year. And more beautiful. Also as someone else mentioned, it's one event at a time so the place is all yours, which is very nice. And the bathrooms were nice, which you might take for granted, but don't! One of the guests is in a band that does a lot of weddings, he said that the steak was the best wedding steak he had ever had - I assume that includes much more expensive venues although I don't know. The bartender didn't know how to make our favorite drink - a sidecar - so stick to the standard drinks. But it's an open bar package for 5 hours, so that was fantastic anyway. There is a nice Hilton nearby (about a 30 minute drive) where we stayed and many of our guests, and had the rehearsal dinner. The cake included in the package was delicious - you go to the bakery for a tasting to try different fillings/flavors. The bakery is famous for doing the Yankees cakes and what not. They somehow got the bows a little off center from each other, which is weird, but the icing was beautifully piped, and it really was a delicious cake so I was very happy with it. read more

We're so excited to write a review for The View on the Hudson that we're not even sure where to begin. The moment we walked in for a tour, we fell in love with the venue. We secured our date a year in advance and throughout the year the staff was incredibly helpful, professional and supportive. As we got closer to our wedding date, the manager, Joe Emenrani, made sure every request and detail was met. On the day-of, our Maitre D (Vincent) and Bridal Attendant (Lupita) were God-sends. They were by each of our sides every step of the ceremony and reception and made sure we had everything we could possibly need and want throughout the day. Ralph is one of the nicest and most detail oriented individuals, he not only ensured we were going according to the schedule I set, he also ensures my glass of champagne was always full. I dont ever write reviews, but I feel it's absolutely necessary to inform the public on my nightmare of an experience with this business. My husband and I had our wedding booked originally for 8/21/20. When covid hit, we decided to push it back to 10/16/20 (in the beginning of February/ March we thought it'd be over by then - little did we know). As October approached, we were informed NY laws were only allowing 50 guests to attend gatherings. We spoke with Vincent and Richard over the phone on many occasions explaining our concerns. Our contract required a minimum of 140 guests to attend, and that's what we wanted pre-covid. We made the hard decision to have a small elopement, and because the contract could not be fulfilled on their end, asked for our money back ..$7,500!!! We were only allowed to speak to Richard or Vincent when we called. We asked for the owners name, but they always stated that we had to go through them and they would relay the message to the owner. The $7,500 included our deposit as well as an installment 6 months after we signed the contract. We sent certified mail with a formal letter requesting our money back. When we called to confirm they received our letter they said they had, but about a week later our certified mail was sent back to us in the mail unopened. Our agreed upon wedding date has now passed and we have had to call everytime to follow up. We are always told they will "speak with the owner and get back to us," however, we have never once received a call or email to follow up. My husband went as far as sending an email pleading that we don't need all the money back at once if they cannot afford it, and we would be willing to get paid back in increments, to which we never received a reply (Vincent had recommended doing so, so he could "show the owner the email"). This entire situation has left my husband and I with so much stress. This was our hard earned money we had been saving for our special day. I am a RN living in South Florida, who has been taking care of covid patients since the shutdown in March! The emotional strain i have endured these past 8 months has been exacerbated by this financial situation we have been placed in. My husband and I have so much sympathy for small businesses during this time, but we feel as though the View on the Hudson is taking advantage of us, and I'm sure many other people that had to cancel their celebrations. If you or anyone you know is inquiring on an event hosted by this venue I would share this review to inform them on the integrity of the owner of this establishment. read more

View was great, but.... I was here for a wedding. Manager was rude to everyone, except the parents and the bride/groom. He was also rude to the photographer. Cocktail hour had ok food and the dessert was great because it was made by an outside bakery. However, the main course was absolutely disgusting. They must feed the parents/bride/groom something else during the tasting. Roll was tough and dry. Obviously manufactured off site and arrived in plastic bag because it tasted like plastic. Butter didn't help and I love bread. The salad was dripping in vinaigrette. They didn't give me a real steak knife. It was one of those glorified butter knives with the wooden handle. The steak was tough. My arms were getting tired from trying to saw through it. Once I got it into my mouth, it was chewy. The sauce they put on the steak was store bought salisbury steak sauce made with high fructose corn syrup. I only had a few bites before I gave up. My wife gave me her chicken francese. It was tender, but was also covered in store bought syrup. People said the salmon was tough and covered in Shake and Bake crumbs. By the look of things, it appeared that most of the guests didn't finish their food. Drinks were weak. Mostly drink mix with dash of alcohol. Items went missing when parents went to pick them up the next day. Manager said the centerpiece was thrown out, but after some pushing, he miraculously emerged from the back with one. When getting drinks for other people apparently they only let you bring one drink at a time then cut you off because they say you're drinking them all yourself. Stingy with the food. I have known I wanted to get married here since I was a little kid (different name and owners back then), the location right on the Hudson River is simply breathtaking. When it came time to pick our venue I knew that we had to go to the View and see if it was within our range. We ended up booking for a Saturday daytime wedding in order to fit our budget. Our wedding was simply breathtaking! The views were stunning, and the food was everything you would get for an evening wedding. All of our guests really loved our wedding, from the outdoor ceremony, to the wonderful cocktail hour, to the reception and meal everything was perfect. We worked with Rich and found him easy to work with, responsive, and knowledgable. As the bride on the day of everything was set up beautifully, and I was asked about minor changes and things before they were done. My husband and I got married at The View this past weekend and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. From our first meeting with Howard Vaz, he assured us that he would make the (crazy) wedding planning experience as relaxed and stress-free as possible- he was right! Howard was ALWAYS available for us and handled all of the details from the big tasks down to the little stuff. We had both our ceremony and reception at The View. The outdoor ceremony was so romantic and beautiful- one of the reasons I HAD to get married there was due to the breathtaking views of the water. The outside was set up with white chairs facing a wedding alter and the river- my guests still will not stop telling us how gorgeous the scenery was. Howard had graciously met with my whole family and wedding party the evening prior to ensure the ceremony was flawless and everybody knew the processional and order of the ceremony (phew!) And the reception was just as fabulous. The staff at the View were FANTASTIC- my hubby and I don't drink and the bartender Mary dug up some energy drinks for us out of her own personal stash! How sweet?! Our waitress Theresa was also wonderful and was always asking us what we needed and if she could get us anything. And Howard spent the entire reception making sure we were taken care of. He was there the entire time!!! He helped us all line up for intro's, and helped organize the first dances and cake cutting. Amazing!!! We had our wedding here last week and it was beautiful. All the guest were raving about how great the food, service and views were! Wouldn't change it for the world not to mention Ralph the manager is such a nice, caring and understanding manager. He was always there to help me and answer questions, truly made our special day that much better!! I suggest this venue for any type of event, especially a wedding :) We had about 135 guest with the ceremony outside and reception inside, it was spectacular! read more
