I've enjoyed visiting various branches and since getting my library card. This library is really nice! Spacious and clean. There's ample seating with pods, open tables, private meeting/study rooms, and a lovely balcony area with more seating. There's an elevator as well- accessible. My initial visit was during the holidays so there was lots of decor. Librarians/Library staff were friendly and helpful. When I'm in the area, I'll definitely return! read more

I made an online reservation for one of their study rooms and it was such a great experience. The library is so beautiful inside and the staff was really helpful getting me signed in and opening the room that I booked. The room was clean, the outlets worked great and it's such a nice place to work on things. This library in particular, the room bookings are so hard to come by because it must be very popular or desirable, so I have to book way in advance. But it was definitely worth it! read more

I attended an event hosted by my colleague. This was my first time at this Library, and it was so beautiful. I loved how the community rooms had glass walls so that you can see and it brought so much light into the room. The room was spacious and the library itself was cute. I liked this library because it had a lot of different nooks to sit in for seclusion or for studying purposes, and the library is soooo large. I used to not be a fan of libraries because of how starkly silent they are, but I've learned to like them now, and I would definitely come back here. The outdoor area is beautiful, and the upstairs is also amazing with a balcony overlooking the backyard. This library has so many windows and open spaces. I was really glad to hear that the West Pearland Library was moving to a bigger location. It was in the same shopping strip as the HEB Plus and it was tiny and severely outdated. This new location is massive and offers so much more than just books. The kids books are primarily downstairs which is the only option in my opinion. I don't have to lug my kids to the second floor for books. Downstairs they also have a kids play room with random toys, building blocks, legos, reading nook, and a TV. I will say that I do not like this play room because some parents just drop their kids off there and then disappear. These kids are 100% always the ones that misbehave. Like throwing the building blocks AT THE TV. Yelling at the other kids, yanking toys from other kids hands. just BAD. I try to limit the time my 6 year old stays in there because I don't have her around that. We have even tried to tell the people who are working there but they do not care. It's a free for all in that room. I have taken my daughter to one if their Summer programs. A lady came from a park in Pearland and read two books about swamps and alligators. We got to make an origami alligator too! Which was really confusing but we did it! Everyone got to pet a baby alligator as well but my daughter wanted nothing to do with that part, she politely declined lol! I also am zoned to Vote at this Library, so we do that each time we can. They set up one of the back rooms with the voting booths. There is even a Brazoria County Tax off here, so we can get our vehicle registration here too. read more

I have studied at several libraries around Houston including league city, east Pearland, UH, and friendswood. The only comparable one to west pearland is UH, which is impressive given that the latter is an academic library. This library has everything you can ask for. Clean, sufficient ergonomic seating areas with ample lighting, private study rooms, and even a well kept patio (if you wanted to read/study outside in this horrendous heat for whatever reason). What really makes this library stand out is its attention to user perspective. No matter where you sit, there is access to a beautiful view of the outside, and anyone who enters this library can tell that this was intentionally considered into its design. read more

I came here to study after class and while the library is beautiful, boy does the upstairs and stairs get taken up quite quickly. If you're in college, I suggest getting the vip access on your library card and coming here to study in the hall. It was hard for me to find a table and even the balcony was filled up along with every study room. Like one review suggested, make your study room reservations asap. The library shares a building with the tax office which makes parking a nightmare. You have to park in the neighboring shopping areas parking and I can see issues coming from that in the future (this happened to a Dutch bros in Arizona but that's another story) Beautiful library, bad parking. read more

Spring is in the air and Brazoria County's updated Pearland West Library is giving me butterflies! I had the ribbon cutting day on my calendar, but was totally going to pass it by going home until I saw all the cars in the parking lot and remembered- plus I had a book on hold that would expire the same day, so I had to make a stop! I vowed that I would become a bookworm again like when I was a kid and this new library will make anyone want to visit the library more. There are so many options to enjoy your favorite book. Maybe a table with plenty of lighting will suffice or a room to yourself to spread out your notes while you study. You'll find it here! Plus, there are plenty of tables suitable for groups as well scattered around the 2nd floor. Once more you have a balcony with seating to enjoy a nice breeze while you read or down on the first floor where a spacious courtyard and walking trail will carry you away into your favorite tale or novel. I especially love that there is a teen library! How special! Usually libraries cater to the little ones but it's phenomenal that the BCLS is thinking of keeping kids engaged as life long readers past their juvenile years. Thumbs up for the brilliance of that idea! Also, this library offers plenty of rooms for various functions like a conference room as well as smaller meetings rooms. Every inch of this library you can tell was planned with intention and masterfully orchestrated with bringing a community together through the library. Today was the grand opening of West Pearland Library (formerly Pearland Westside Library)! I've been waiting to check out this place once I heard they were relocating to Shadow Creek Parkway. The old location on Business Center Drive in the HEB Plus shopping center was not ideal. Traffic was always a hassle and parking could be difficult, especially if you were going there to vote. They had a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning and a bunch of events throughout the day. By the time I got there this afternoon, the events were pretty much done, but you could walk around and explore. This facility is amazing!! One of the librarians told me that the catalog of books is the same from the old location, but it's much larger because of all the meeting rooms, conference rooms, the park out back, etc. This is a place for the community. They have so many rooms for meetings, studying, lectures, etc. The amount of seating areas in this place is awesome! There were so many nooks and areas for sitting. Downstairs, they have a children's play room and upstairs, is a separate teen library. There was a business center, plenty of computers, and obviously books everywhere! The balcony was really nice and the park out back was awesome too. The colors are so bright and inviting! Right as you walk in, I noticed a door on the right that said Brazoria County Tax Office so it looks like they may be opening a suboffice inside the library soon. There's plenty of parking which is great. I wasn't quite sure where on Shadow Creek the library was located, but I knew I hard arrived when I spotted the flag poles. I didn't see any signs saying it was a library, but maybe I just overlooked it since I wasn't quite sure where I was going. If you're driving west on Shadow Creek, it is just past Kirby on the right hand side across from an apartment complex. It is so great to see that Pearland has a new state of the art library! It definitely reflects the growth of Pearland. read more

This NEW West Pearland library. It has replaced the Pearland Westside Library. The facility is SO beautiful, inside and out. Love the modern decor! There are many cozy areas to sit and read, be able to charge your device or go on your computer. The downstairs area is mainly the children's area. Upstairs is for teens and adults. There are also numerous study rooms you can reserve. The 2 ladies working the checkout desk downstairs were WONDERFUL. They were so friendly and helpful! I am hopeful the book selection will grow with time. (The kids area had lots of open space.) Can't wait to bring the rest of my family here to check out some books! read more

I've been to multiple public libraries in Houston and most are old. But this one is new, a decent size, and very modern with large windows all around and different seating arrangements upstairs and downstairs. Plenty of power outlets. There's also covered outdoor seating on the second floor. Downstairs is dedicated to kids. They have study rooms with different capacities and most have a window view. There's a whiteboard and the seats are comfy. You must have a library card to reserve for 2 hours. Best to book at least a day in advance as they get booked quickly. The restrooms are clean. Sufficient parking. It tends to get cold. And the wifi speed is very good. There's a teen library section which has board games, Legos, and an area to play video games. I tend to see adults or young adults using the computers, seating areas, and/or tables. Overall, it's a good library to study or get some work done. Every time I come, it's packed upstairs but you can find a seat or two. This could be on a weekday or Saturday afternoon. Downstairs or by the staircase is usually fairly empty or less crowded. read more

This is an incredible library! It's beautiful and bright. It's got walk in spaces and reservable study spaces. They also have a huge inventory of non-book items that you can reserve like moving supplies, blow up sprinklers, and all kinds of random stuff that you can just borrow for free. It's a great place for families, students, and remote workers. read more

A newly built library, and it is very beautiful with plenty of tables, seating, group study rooms, and outlets. While you study, u have such a panoramic view of the garden in the back and makes studying so much nicer. there is PLENTY of parking! Since it is very new, I find that coming in the morning time before usual release of middle school & high school times (3-4pm) are ideal! It is very quiet in the AM, and gradually gets noisier in the PM unless you are in the study group rooms. I believe you need a library card to book a study room. read more

Printer was out of ink and I needed an important document printed. I made a visit to this public library. It's modern and clean. The staff are helpful! I will say it can get a little noisy during the week while the kids are participating in activities offered at the library. They offer some secluded areas or maybe even outside if you need a quiet area to get work done. Overall neat library. Also, they recently added a vehicle registration office onsite. read more

This library is a lovely space. There are 2 floors, both offering seating and conference/study rooms. It's modern and great for those that want to come study, use the computers, or bring the kiddos. A few things to note: the book collection is VERY small and a lot of people work and study at the library so if you aren't seated before 11am, you may have to squeeze between others to sit. read more

Reading is FUNdamental. So glad to have this Westside location. The Favorite Daughter has been a summer bookworm and this is where she gets her books to devour. We have had great success with getting books quickly after being requested. There is a cute area for young readers to "play" or have a story read to them. The selection of books is sufficient and as mentioned earlier, if they don't have it on shelf, they can request it from the Brazoria County Library System. read more

Too small. Not enough tables and semi-private places to sit and study. Lots of open space with plenty of room for tables and chairs, but just lacking. I had to leave because there was nowhere for me to sit and work on my laptop. The only 2 study rooms were taken. Just way too small for such a large population. Brazoria county needs to allocate more funding for public libraries in higher populated areas like west pearland. This library should be twice as big. read more

1. All my life, you could always find me at the library. When I was growing up, I would visit my local library (in Pasadena there was only one at the time, today it's the Minerva Branch), once a week. I knew the librarians and where to find any book I wanted. 2. Regarding Pearland West End Library, this is the strangest one I've ever been to... and when I lived in Houston I frequented Mancuso and Park Place Libraries! (That is, when Park Place wasn't under near-annual renovation.) 3. Pearland West End Library is a tiny storefront place, and emphasis on "tiny." Although recently expanded, it remains so small that I would think it ought to be on some sort of Texas Park's tour guide as a must-see attraction. 4. The staff is very friendly and personable. If you're lucky, "the little redheaded boy" will be working and warrants comment. When I first started going, the "vibe" he gave off was that he must have been sentenced to work there by a juvenile court! However, he has since seemed to settle in and find it more to his liking. I contacted Pearland Main Library once, which is massive by comparison, and an unnamed source seemed to agree with my statement that he was related another Brazoria County official or employee. Or course, that's just gossip and hearsay. (This is actually a "member" of the Brazoria County Library Union.) Anyway, he is a fine fellow and were I not so shy, I would've asked him his name and if he has come to like working there. 5. I find that reading Juvenile Non-fiction can often be helpful for readers with limited time, but I don't think there is a Juvenile Non-fiction section. 6. Contrary to how it might appear, Pearland West End Library follows the Dewey Decimal System. The only problem is that the library is so small, the shelving system seems erratic at best. 7. There is an "outside drop box" for returning items. Overall: Recommended. Room for improvement? Perhaps. How? Unsure, due to lack of space. If you need to visit a larger library, Pearland Main is further east down FM518, past Telephone Road (SH35), across the street from Pearland City Hall. read more

I have been to many libraries, and I have to say the people, who work at the front desk (near the front door) are the most unfriendly folks I have ever met. They make no effort to try to speak to you, unless you ask them a question. And if you say hello, don't expect a greeting back. Folks are treated better by a gas station attendant than they are at Pearland Westside Library. I compare them to guard dogs. They watch people go in and out, but don't know anything if you ask them a question. Pretty unhelpful and useless. Where do they find these people? read more

This isn't a library it's a day care with books and computers. It's extremely loud with kids running around screaming and staff members leading loud activities heard throughout the entire building. Don't come here to get anything done that requires you to hear your own thoughts. read more

I am new to the area and was very happy I had found a library close to home but I was wrong. It was extremely loud, kids running all over the place. If your looking for a quiet study area this is not the place.as I was in the meeting room I was told that the others were having a meeting. If you want peace and quiet to study or read I recommend Starbucks or another library. However, staff is helpful and polite for the most part. read more

Not happy about the situation with the kids ranging from 4-6(African American) being turned away for STORY TIME. by an employer name KAT..she stated that the area was FULL.. with 7 children but when you ask for that in writing you couldn't find it.. but when you call another library and they say the capacity is 75... this makes the situation worse.... I am very shocked and angry about this especially since this is in Pearland, Texas... I hope they do something about this situation.. But I believe the news need to be aware of this... read more
