Jeff the owner is completely unprofessional, disrespectful and full of himself. I called him today to get a quote for my home yard project which requires a LOT of rock, nearly $130k worth of colored landscape rock, 4 specific colors and the first phone interaction was quite rude but I decided to email him anyways as he asked. Instead of offering advice and being a consultant on this vast project, he talked down to me because he clearly assumed I was a landscaper instead of the homeowner who is paying for this project. When I emailed him the cubic yards that I will need and said either pebbles or rock because as a HOMEOWNER I do not know what size rock or pebbles I would need, below was his response: My email to his first disrespectful email when I asked for a quote for specific rock colors with the cubic yards that he has asked for: "I am covering 8,000 square feet at 4" deep. You don't seem too interested. Thanks for your time. Have a great evening! ." His response: "Yes, that's why I spent 10 minutes trying to explain to you the realities of what you are asking a "quote" for. If you don't want to hear the reality, that is not my problem, it's yours. The information I gave you is all that you can get without a more specific design which includes specific size, which if you are a landscape designer, you should have. Pretty clearly I've been doing this a lot longer than you have. I invite you to contact some other companies and try to get an accurate quote for that material without knowing the specifics. Good luck with that. Jeff...CLEARLY you have been doing this a lot longer...because I am NOT A LANDSCAPE DESIGNER, I am the HOMEOWNER and clearly I know the large scale size of my project which is why I requested a quote for the amount of rock that will be needed. I am the one who is paying for the project not the one designing it! I will absolutely take my business elsewhere after this disgusting interaction with you via email. Your written correspondence is downright embarrassing for a business owner and you should be ashamed of yourself for treating a potential customer this way because you assumed I was a landscape designer. I hope you don't treat your designers this way too. Your loss, not mine. There are plenty of companies who would love to assist with a project of this magnitude and monetary involvement. read more

Still have not had a reply, now going on two weeks. Will probably look to do business with another company in order to obtain landscaping stones... the lack of responsiveness is a deal breaker. read more

Normally, people only talk about the bad things, and little about the good. I'm the same. I asked for a professional and experienced advice for a project, and was sold the wrong thing. A LOT of the wrong thing - the best they can do is "too bad dude, you should have known". *** For all DYI'ers out there *** Don't expect expert or professional advice from them - take a pro with you, someone who actually is an expert, to help. I did a lot of research for my project, and felt I knew what I was supposed to buy, but... I told them repeatedly I wanted one type of rock for a large retaining wall. They talked me into purchasing something else. I guess its my fault for listening to the opinion of a rock "specialist", but guess what? IT'S the WRONG THING! Now they wont make it right. Just unacceptable. Its not the money so much as it is a bulk load of rock in my yard that I have to walk around every day. Terrible, just terrible. read more

From ordering to delivery, we had a great experience. I called them to ask about pricing on 7/8" drainage rock. The pricing was very competitive and they were able to deliver our order in 2 days. I also appreciate that you can order bulk landscaping material in 1/2 cubic yard increments. Delivery was right on time, right where we needed it, and the driver made sure to sweep around the sidewalk to keep the pile area tidy. We really appreciate little details like this and will be ordering soil and mulch from them soon. read more

They do a really good job, and keep our yard looking really nice. I get a lot of compliments on how clean it always looks. People tell me that our yard always looks so tidy. Makes me happy to hear! If they do something I don't like or it needs more work, they come back and make it better. Willing to work with us on our needs and give us pointers on how to prune. Jeff even came out and pruned for us at no charge just for being a loyal customer the past year. Makes me want to continue business when someone takes the time to make sure you are happy. They are kind and courteous and his worker that comes out to do weeding is always kind and considerate. read more

We've been doing business with W. Seattle Landscape & Stone for a little over a year now. Initially, we contacted them for bulk mulch and compost. Recently, we had a need for a hard-scaping project, extending a rockery, and called for a bid. We thought the bid fair and arranged to have the job done. Jeff did an incredible job. Part of the project was breaking down an existing rock wall and using that rock in creating a new retained area. He saved our rocks with the moss intact and strategically placed them so that we have an instantly aged look. We expected that we'd have to build stairs in the wall, but on his own Jeff suggested that he build in stone ones. The effect is phenomenal. Initially Jeff bid two people on the job and two days. As his co-worker fell ill, the job went three days. Jeff kept to the bid and there was no additional costs from the change in schedule. We immediately used W. Seattle Stone again to purchase some slate for a pathway, and will continue to use them into the future. read more

They helped me estimate what I needed and delivered the perfect amount and variation in size to build my basalt retaining wall. Even when the owner was out of town, the rest of the staff stepped up and were very communicative. The patients and communication of the staff here has been the best and I really hope to be able to bring them more business in the future, even if its only through recommendations! read more
