Great food, service and even a live band playing Hawaiian and local music! The band is very good and they seem to enjoy what they do cause the music was excellent! We had the meat lovers and some poke nachos which were great and an excellent choice compared to other competitors. The Pulehu ribs were the best although they were out of some menu items when we went there on a busy Friday night. Give them a try. They're located at the old Plantation Cafe location in Kapolei.

If you haven't had string beans and spam at Westside Bar & Grill, what are you even doing with your life? This dish alone is worth the drive, the parking struggle, and even the existential crisis I had about eating more vegetables than usual. Crispy, garlicky, and perfectly sautéed--each bite was like a little Hawaiian hug from the culinary gods. I didn't know green beans could taste this good, and the spam? Chef's kiss. And then there's Steph, the bartender. Oh man, give this woman a raise, a trophy, or at least a lifetime supply of mai tais. She's part mixologist, part comedian, and part therapist--serving up top-tier drinks with a side of A+ banter. She could make a rock feel welcome at the bar. The drinks were cold, the vibes were warm, and by the end of the night, I was convinced Steph should run for mayor. Westside Bar & Grill is local, laid-back, and LEGENDARY. If you're looking for great food, killer service, and a place where even your green beans slap, get yourself over here. P.S. I now fully believe spam belongs in fine dining. Someone alert Michelin. #SpamGoals #WestsideEats #StephForMayor

Very over priced for what you get. Ordered the pork nachos and it came out in a small soup bowl for $22? It tasted like store bought nacho chips with cheese whiz, diced tomatoes and olives. The pork was dry like it was sitting out in open air. Service was okay, but not very personable. We ordered two appetizers and two drinks and our bill was over $70.

Hadn't been here in long time so we went last week only to find out that they had just re-opened. The food is as great as ever with a different kind of menu, all pupus and a la carte which we liked. Chassy & Jessie are awesome. Mahalo ladies!! Didn't get a Scoobie Snack but def try the new li hing lemon drops. Can't wait to go back for early football games, live music and Karaoke night. .

We went here on a Friday night. There was a live band playing. It was great. However because the venue/restaurant is small on the inside the band is really loud. So having a conversation, you can forget it. It was "busy" so we sat at the bar. There was one server that night which was odd, because he did mention it was one of their peak hour for a crowd so I thought there would be at least another bar back/server. Im a food person so before going to the restaurant, I of course looked at the menu. Im going to admit that the only reason I wanted to eat here was because of the smoke meat and the imitation crab potato salad which is made with spaghetti noodles. Not a lot of restaurants do this so I was super excited, because this is just pot luck food. We started off with the poke nachos. AMAZING, but it was at market price. Price on the online menu says $25 but we ended up paying $48 for poke nachos? Stuffed mushrooms, disappointment. It was just garlic mushrooms. It's apparently stuffed with cream cheese and imitation crab - note there is none. West side burger, burger was dry - was requested to be cooked at medium and it was overly well done. Garlic fries were not garlic at all, but it was good fries. Grilled Mahi Mahi - ate half of one tiny piece. Tbh it's not worth it. I know it's fish but fish was dry in some places then raw and strong fish odor and picking at it was really slimy looking. Imitation crab salad, imitation crab was like biting into an eraser. Hell no. It was thick dry and disgusting. Rice was the only thing decent on the plate. All in all - id give this place another chance, eventually to maybe change my view on it. But ‍ we shall see. After my experience on Friday, I'm a little iffy about it. Only gave it a 2 star because of the poke nachos. Literally the only thing that tasted great.

I've been coming here since they first opened years…read moreago--back when I was still in high school--and it has stayed one of my all-time favorite sushi spots on the west side. To put it into perspective, there was a flash flood warning during a storm this week and I still drove 40 minutes just to pick up takeout from them. That's how worth it this place is to me. The portions here are insanely generous, especially for the price point. You get so much food, and the quality never feels compromised. The fish is consistently fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, which is why I keep coming back year after year. Their service is also incredibly efficient. You can tell this team really knows how to run a tight operation. They stayed open and adapted throughout COVID, and that ability to pivot and keep things running smoothly still shows in how quickly and reliably they handle orders today. If you wanna sit inside, I urge you to come towards open or with the expectation to wait a bit. You sign up on the clipboard outside and wait patiently. The good news is that they turntables extremely quickly. Places like this are rare--great food, great value, and a team that clearly cares about what they're doing. I'll always make the drive for Sushi Bay, and I genuinely hope they stay open forever.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but the poor customer service experience brought me here…read more I placed a takeout order totaling approximately $59 and left an $8 tip. After paying, I asked for a side of eel sauce and was informed there was a 50-cent charge. Had I known beforehand, I would have simply added it to my order. The issue wasn't the cost--it was how the situation was handled. I explained that I had already paid and didn't have any cash or change on me. I then spoke with two different employees, and both seemed unwilling to help over what amounted to a 50-cent sauce. Eventually, I spoke with the manager, who repeatedly told me, "Next time, next time, make sure," and implied I wouldn't get the sauce otherwise. What disappointed me was the lack of flexibility and customer service. After spending nearly $60 on takeout and leaving a tip, I felt that the staff and management were more focused on collecting 50 cents than taking care of a customer. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I understand policies exist, but I also understand that sometimes good customer service means using common sense and showing a little goodwill. This wasn't about the money. It was about how a loyal customer was treated over something so minor. Unfortunately, the interaction left me feeling unappreciated, and it has made me reconsider returning.

First thing we noticed was that the prices here were way more affordable than Maui. We went to costco beforehand because we didn't want to pay inflated prices for things like water and liquor but honestly it was pretty comparable. Of course we had to get the poke here. They have so many options and flavors that you really can't go wrong. We asked the guy behind the counter what he recommended and he had just made a fresh batch of their spicy poke which was delicious. We also got the californian poke, but that was just alright in comparison to the spicy poke he made. I think the trick here is to just ask what's the freshest and go with that. While the poke gets a lot of love at Foodland, the low key superstar is their fried chicken. Warm, cold, room temperature, it's hella good. We tried their salt and vinegar wings and their garlic fried chicken, and it was some of the best bites on the entire trip. Definitely don't skip out on this on your next trip to Foodland!
