    Pupu Steak

Lilikoi Lounge is definitely one of our favorite spots in Makaha Valley. We're regulars, and at this point it feels less like going out to a restaurant and more like stopping by to see friends. The staff is a huge part of what keeps us coming back. Summer, Carrie, Reydel, Sadie, Malia, Bishop, Greg, Roz (to name a few) are awesome and always make us feel welcome. Great service, plenty of laughs, and that comfortable local atmosphere that's hard to find. And the food! Some of our favorites are the country smash burger, pupu steak, poke (from fresh caught Ahi) and short ribs. The new pork chops are really good, and the loaded omelette is definitely worth coming in hungry for. Of course, we've also managed to create our own unofficial drink menu. My drink is the "Trish-A-Rita": jalapeño tequila on the rocks with a side of soda water and lime. Spicy, refreshing and perfect. Mike's is the "Mike-Tai": fresh pineapple juice over ice in a tall glass with dark rum floated on top. Simple and dangerous because it goes down way too easily! But what really makes Lilikoi Lounge special is the people. Come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, special events or just a drink and you'll find good food, cold drinks, familiar faces and plenty of aloha. We're really lucky to have a place like this right here in Makaha Valley. And if you happen to order a Trish-A-Rita or a Mike-Tai, tell them Trish & Mike sent you.

    Lahilahi Special with Lilikoi Chicken

Came on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for lunch, it was a hot day but immediately felt cooler when we drove into the valley. It was my first time here, never been in Makaha Valley before, and I've lived here my entire life...it's beautiful! They have indoor and outdoor seating and there was only one server Sadie, she was so sweet and friendly! Saw someone on IG highlight their Shrimp Burger, so that's what I ordered. It did not disappoint! It was delicious! A deep fried shrimp burger with sauce and cabbage slaw on a big brioche bun. Every bite and I mean every bite to the last bite had shrimp in it and not ground up shrimp but whole pieces of shrimp. Served with fries, I devoured it! My husband had the Lahilahi Special and added the Lilikoi Chicken, it came with Meat Jun, fried noodles, Mac Salad! It was tasty! He also ordered the Lilikoi Iced Tea, alcoholic version, he said it was nice and strong, like he like it! Will definitely be coming back to try the breakfast!

Kalbi, meat Jun, fish and chips all bad tasting even the soda needs carbonation taste like all syrup.

The food isn't great at all! Odd flavor, just pretty bad in my opinion. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I'm not coming back. You need to change the recipe or go please try other places food and compare ot so that you make better food.

    Shrimp burger with Fries

I was in the area and looked up restaurants and decided to try this place out. It's right on the golf course beautiful view but the only thing is when I ordered my food all I could smell was a wet rag smell which was kind of a turn off. They need to just use sanitizing wipes instead of a dirty rag because that smell was awful. So they lost 1 star because of that. I ordered the shrimp burger because I saw a TikTok about it and it was nice and hot and if it was made right I know it would've been so much better but my shrimp burger was unfortunately slightly burnt which sucks because the bread and sauce was good the fries were amazing but just the shrimp patty itself had a burnt flavor and a little tough because it was overcooked which is why I knocked off another start :( I'll give them another try I wanted to get the Lahilahi special. Sorry Lilikoi Lounge this is my honest review.

    The country smash burger

Good view of the mountains and good staff, but food was not the greatest. Ordered the Country Smash Burger, but technically the burger wasn't truly a "smash burger." The patty was also extremely oily/fatty and dripped everywhere, which made the brioche bun soggy. The burger was supposed to also have avocado, but that was missing. On the plus side, the French fries were good and crispy.

Went there with my Ohana for lunch today. The ambience was mellow with local contemporary Hawaiian music videos playing, it was great! We ordered some of the items from their menu and everything looked really good. We had the Mauka to Makai Nachos, Spicy Ahi poke bowl, Beachboy Burger and the Kalbi Short Ribs. They were all great tasting. Our server, Jhovana, was very courteous and attentive. She was always checking in on us to see if we needed anything else. We really appreciated her. Want everyone near and far to come by The Lilikoi Lounge and have some good grinds and order more to take home. Was amazing to dine here in our home town without having to drive too far. Aloha!!

What didn't go well here? Everything was amazing. We got here shortly after the rush of golfers, os so we were told. But it was nice bc really no one else was there. The servers were still super attentive and helpful with menu selections. What I loved most was that the prices are not outrageous like most places can be. I was surprised that the Tumbleland Special came with a good amount of meat juhn. The shrimp burger also had a huge shrimp patty. The Kim Chee fries are so worth the $2 upgrade and come on some kind of white cheesy sauce that was so bomb. You can earn reward points by providing your phone number which can be also used at Lanterns which we learned is their sister restaurant. It was the perfect after beach quick date for the hubs and me.

They were very accommodating when we had no reservations and with a party of 12. Our car club took a west side cruise and had lunch up in the beautiful makaha valley. They didn't disappoint and again I was so engaged with conversation I forgot to take pictures. I had the meat jun and was so Ono. We had no complaints and all in the party enjoyed their food, service was great. We will be back!

If heaven had a brunch spot, it would look, feel, and taste exactly like Lilikoi Lounge in Makaha Valley. No exaggeration--this place is a hidden gem that deserves its own fan club. THE OMELET: This wasn't just an omelet; this was a golden, fluffy, cheesy masterpiece crafted by what I can only assume is a culinary wizard hiding in the kitchen. Every bite was a perfect balance of creamy melted cheese, earthy mushrooms, and savory ham--like a symphony in my mouth. The eggs were cooked to cloud-like perfection, proving that someone back there knows exactly what they're doing. I was so moved, I considered writing a thank-you note to the chef. THE ICED COFFEE: If motivation had a flavor, it would taste like this iced coffee. Smooth, rich, zero bitterness, and just the right kick of caffeine to make me feel like I could run for office. It wasn't just good--it was "turn the car around and get another one" good. THE VIEWS: Makaha Valley Golf Course stretches out like a scene straight out of Jurassic Park--minus the dinosaurs. Rolling green hills, soft ocean breezes, and the kind of tranquility that makes you forget about your emails and bad life choices. Even if you don't golf, this is the kind of setting that makes you consider picking up a set of clubs... or at least ordering another iced coffee and pretending you belong. THE SERVICE: The team here deserves a standing ovation. Friendly, welcoming, and just the right balance of laid-back and professional. I never had to ask for a thing--they were already one step ahead of me, like hospitality mind readers. FINAL VERDICT: Lilikoi Lounge is absolute breakfast royalty. Whether you're a local, a visitor, or just someone who appreciates damn good food in a damn good setting, get yourself here immediately. Would I come back? Let me put it this way--I'm already planning my next trip back, and I might bring a framed picture of that omelet as a tribute. #BreakfastGoals #OmeletOfTheGods #MakahaMagic

We dined there for lunch on a Monday, so naturally, they weren't too busy. We were seated right away and our drink orders were once we were seated. I decided on one of the specials of the month, White Wash. It was a refreshing mix of watermelon juice, cucumber, mint, and vodka. The bartender didn't skimp on the vodka! You can get a free kid's meal with every entree. The nachos count as entrees, and I was definitely feeling the nachos so we ordered the Lobster Nachos and the Mauka to Makai Nachos. With the Mauka to Makai Nachos, you get a very generous serving of poke nachos and kalua pig nachos. Neither plates disappointed. There were cheesy chunks of lobster on my nachos with diced jalapenos scattered on top. The poke was so fresh, and what made the nachos even better were the fresh house made tortilla chips. My kids had the mac and cheese, and cheeseburger meals. The mac and cheese was creamy and velvety. The cheeseburgers had that nice char-broiled taste. Kids eat well at Tavern! The customer service was excellent and with a view overlooking the ocean, I am looking forward to dining at Lanterns again.

Unfortunately, they don't have an elevator, which was a little difficult for my grandmother who was with us. However, we were still able to make it up the stairs slowly but surely. It wasn't busy at all but there was only one waiter/bartender. He was very kind and efficient, but I could tell it was a lot for one person to wait on the whole restaurant! It meant ordering was a little slow, but understandably. The food itself was delicious! The burgers were amazing, honestly would be on a list of top five burgers on the island. The mauka to makai (half kalua pig, half poke) nachos were amazing. The won ton chips were to die for. We also grabbed a mini purse drink - which is definitely enough for two to share! Such a fun concept and actually how I heard of the place. Besides the slightly slow service, no elevator (which sometimes, cannot help), and the AI generated menus, this place is amazing! Plus, a nice view while you eat.

I miss coming to this spot with family to get plate lunches when we lived down in waianae, but since we haven't been to this location in a while we finally made the attempt yesterday from Kapolei to come down to Maili. I'm happy we did because the pastele plates we got was 1/1 mild and spicy with Mac salad and 2 scoop rice. The meat was tender and savory giving you the correct amount of flavor with seasoning and balance. You can tell they put the heart into making these. Although there are many variations to Pasteles this one is my favorite. The Mac salad is good also better than other places I've tried. The opihi I also brought and added my own sauce to it with and enjoyed it with their Hawaiian Style (Inamona) poke on the side. My only recommendation is the panadeja was more of a pulled pork look and of course that's what it is but I was looking for more of a stew consistency of which it was not. Now don't get me wrong the flavor wasn't lacking and was juicy but it was just shredded pork inside and you can see couple of black olives that's it. I will still purchase them but a slight upgrade would be nice to those, just my opinion.

(formerly S&S Thai Kitchen at Ka makana ali') My affection for this restaurant is boundless, and there are countless reasons why it stands out as my favorite island eatery. First and foremost, S&S Thai Mini Mart commitment to quality and sustainability is unparalleled. An impressive 70% of their produce is sourced directly from their own farms in Kahuku, ensuring that every dish is as fresh as it is flavorful. The absence of MSG in their cooking is a testament to their dedication to health and authenticity, making every meal a guilt-free indulgence. As a vegan, dining out can sometimes be a challenge, but S&S Thai Mini Mart has always been exceptionally accommodating. Their willingness to customize meals without hesitation is something I've always appreciated. Whether it's adjusting dishes to suit dietary preferences or experimenting with new flavors, their customer service is top-notch. The soul of S&S Thai Mini Mart is undoubtedly its owners, Tammy and Jason. Their love for the community shines through in everything they do, from the warm welcome they extend to every guest to their efforts to give back to the island. Moving to Nanakuli, they've not only continued to offer their authentically authentic Thai dishes but also expanded their menu to include Korean specialties and a variety of market items. This expansion has only added to the charm and appeal of the restaurant, making it a culinary hub for both locals and visitors alike. Let me add they have a good selection of authentic seasonings, sauces, noodles and such. We picked up a thing or two while we were there. Oh! They also have ox tail and other meats and fish! Fresh (frozen though) and very smartly priced. The food was as delicious as ever. I ordered Yellow Curry and Pad Kee Mao. I ate the curry there and it was so creamy, rich and satisfying. The right balance on onions, carrots, potato's oh, my goodness. The Pad Kee Mao is for tomorrow! Spice level four this time. I opted not to go Thai hot this time around. My husband ordered Chicken Pad Thai, his usual at a level one and he said it was spot on. He also ordered spring rolls which he said were savory, not overly oily and seasoned to perfection. It has to be said - S&S Thai Mini Mart is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Thai cuisine, a testament to sustainable farming, and a beacon of community spirit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and experience the magic of S&S Thai Mini Mart. You'll leave with a full stomach and a full heart. A couple of things to note, they have one table that can seat six. I didn't think to ask Jason if they were planning on more tables. I will say everyone who came in ordered their food to go. They have online ordering which is a breeze with their QR code or you may go to sandsthatkitchen.com DoorDash and Uber Eats are also available. Their hours are seven days a week 10am-8pm. They are right behind McDonals right on the end of the shopping center. 87-2070 Farmington Hwy When you go tell them Deb sent you and enjoy!
