A small city plaza downtown. Nestled along the Truckee River as part of the Riverwalk, this area sits between the Cinemark Riverside theater and Java Jungle. It has ramp access from Arlington and Sierra Streets, stairs from West Street. There's also a bridge access across the Truckee to Wingfield Park. And a large stair area into the Truckee for wading on hot days. On beautiful days various artists and musicians set up spots to sell wares and play. Be careful on busy days, as pedestrians, dog walkers and bicyclists can make the area rather congested. During summer events this can often be full of vendors. read more

Nice little plaza with a park on the other side of the bridge, and city/river views that take the busy - out of the city. We found metered street parking right at the North entrance. You can along the river if you like, or just sit and enjoy the view at one of the benches, or concrete steps. Bridges connect the island (Wingfield park - in which there appeared to be a few homeless people hanging out, but harmless) as well as to the south side of the river. I would say it's worth checking out if you are in the area, but wouldn't go to far out of my way to just see this. read more

This is an area I frequented in downtown Reno for various reasons - the nearby parks, the beautiful Truckee River, the movie theater, lots of restaurants and shops. When tourists think of Reno, so often they fail to consider the walkable beauty within the city. This plaza is a pleasant stop if you are in the area and need a place to stop and enjoy the fresh air. read more
