It has restaurants, cafes, mezzanines, patios, beautiful winding paths, and views of the Tennessee River. This is a more relaxed area of downtown Chattanooga for sure. Depending on when you visit, parking can be limited and difficult to find. Free parking is offered for customers and can be found throughout the district on High St., East Second St. and Spring St. Parking is also available in the middle of the district between Rembrandt's Coffee House and Tony's Pasta Shop. Additional parking can be found at the southern end of the district behind the Bluff View Bakery. In all, visit the Bluff View Art District - you won't regret it!

All types of merchandise is available here-tshirts, keychains, baby clothes, chins, posters, magnets...and of course, MoonPies! All flavors, which many are only available in the store or online. The location is on a boat on the river, so be prepared to park and walk. The prices are more than you would typically pay in a convenience store, so be prepared for that. But isn't that typical of all souvenir shops? All of the employees were friendly and pleasant. It's a must visit if you like odd shops and MoonPies.

Down along the riverfront sits MoonPie General Store, tucked into an old riverboat permanently docked by the park. It actually took me a minute to realize the store was on the boat. From the outside you're just enjoying a beautiful stroll along the Tennessee River, great views, people walking dogs, the whole scenic downtown vibe... and then suddenly you realize you can board a boat that sells snacks and souvenirs. That's a pretty solid plot twist for a casual afternoon walk. Step inside and the place is packed with just about everything you can imagine. T-shirts, hats, magnets, Chattanooga souvenirs, gifts, candy, and of course the star of the show... MoonPies. And not just the standard ones you find at a gas station. They've got flavors you won't see anywhere else outside of MoonPie headquarters territory. Shelves of them. Stacks of them. Enough varieties that you start convincing yourself this is clearly a "research project" and you should probably try several. "You walk in for one MoonPie and five minutes later you're conducting a full-scale snack expedition." The staff were friendly, the atmosphere is quirky in the best possible way, and the whole experience just feels... fun. It's the kind of stop that makes a riverfront walk a little more memorable. Now for the small reality check. The prices. Let's just say the souvenir math starts getting interesting real fast. A few items had me doing that slow head tilt you do when you're trying to remember if inflation suddenly doubled while you were walking down the river. But here's the micro twist. I still walked out with a bag full of MoonPies. Because when you're standing on a riverboat in downtown Chattanooga buying rare MoonPie flavors, logic takes a short coffee break. Bottom line, MoonPie General Store is a quirky, fun stop along the riverfront with a great selection and a cool setting you won't find anywhere else. Just come prepared to spend like you're at Disney World... and leave with more MoonPies than you originally planned.
