My main complaint is not the pricing or the items but the staff. There is a middle aged woman who works (owns?) the Jumble Store who seems gracious and kind with many customers but not with all. Whenever I have to talk to the deyassified Marcia Gay Harden that works check out, she is cold, brusque, and it's as she cannot wait for me to get out as soon as possible. The styles may not be the most fashionable or up-to-date, but a smart fashionista should have no problems creatively picking out pieces that will work for her (or him). With all the suspect donation trucks out there that supposedly goes to 'help' Veterans when a little digging shows poor stewardship of their donations and money, Hana is a great alternative. The thrift store is run to support their work in Paterson and other low-income areas, and to programs for substance abuse or at-risk children, a fact that some of their employees are rather proud of for good reason. I would rather my donations go to support local communities than the pockets for people who create 'non-profits' for their own gains. I recommend supporting this thrift store either with your money or with your donations.
