As I recall the last time I was in there, roughly two weeks ago, all they had was an exercise bike, a treadmill, an arm bike, and a few ankle weights/therabands. The office space is very small, so unless they have plans to expand, I'm not sure where they would put all the other equipment necessary in a PT office. In PT, it's extremely important to have a variety of equipment, especially since many patients won't have access to certain things in their home, or in their gym. Prior to starting PT here, I wish I had known about the lack of necessary equipment, and how that would limit my ability to train and recover here. I came here to recover from my 3rd ACL injury and compared to other facilities, the training has been extremely limited and progress very slow due to lack of proper facilities. The therapists themselves are however, very kind and knowledgeable. It's a shame they are no longer in their old location. They do a lot of manual work on your injury which is certainly a plus.

She rudely interrupts my meeting with the doctor. Accusing me of saying I was discharged & I needed to cancel the appeal. Medicare associate corrected her on her assumption & told her she had to rescind it not I to protect my rights. So what happened to my filing an appeal with the insurance. It was never mentioned. As to after care I am on my own.

The negatives are that the therapists are under constraints to keep the treatments as short as is clinically justifiable so patients may be discharged prematurely. Also they are a teaching institution so the therapist may bring in a student. This past July, I hurt myself during yoga (a result and mix of over-exercising/working out/pandemic stress) and I was referred to this practice. Before then, I had never injured myself physically and was experiencing - what I soon came to recognize - a high level of anxiety previously unknown to me. As someone who always felt extremely strong, both physically and mentally, I felt like a stranger in my own body. Dr. Niv (Zack) was my primary therapist and (while I wish I had never injured myself or had to learn what anxiety was) I consider it a major blessing that of all the PT's in the world, I somehow happened to find him. He is an expert, serious professional, and all around fantastic human being. I have never felt more safe, taken care, understood, or truly heard by a health care professional ever in my life. The care I received was always personalized and thoughtful. I always felt like he wanted to hear what was on my mind/concerns/etc. His understanding of the body and mind is incredible. My treatment always felt like an extremely educated and human approach. Something I (and everyone else) desperately needed. I could go on! The physical therapist instructed me to do an exercise to stretch my calf muscles while she…read moreattended to another patient and completed her paper work on her computer. While doing the exercise (unobserved, so perhaps incorrectly) I ruptured my achilles tendon. The pain was intense and I asked the PT to take look at my ankle which hurt alot. . She replied that she could not attend to my ankle because I had a prescription from the doctor only for her to do PT for my hip, not my ankle. I went directly to a foot doctor at Lenox Hill and ended up needing three operations for the repair of the achilles tendon and complications that followed from the injury. My recommendation for prospective patients is that before you undergo treatment at this place you ask your PT if they would do the paper work after the session rather than during it, particularly if their practice is to treat two patients at the same time. If the management wants to contact me I would be glad to give them all of the details for them to prevent this from happening to another patient.
