They have some of the rudest customer service ever! This was my first visit here and the kids and I were excited to watch the new Mufasa movie and for the experience. We ordered our tickets in advance, arrived at the start of the movie, and even went for snacks. When we came back from the snacks to our vehicle, some a-hole that was late parked diagonally in front of us partially blocking our view of the movie. He had his car running the entire time and headlights on, which was very distracting. We ended up moving spots, but I was upset because we moved from o yr position in the front to the back. By that time we were lost with the movie and my kids were distracted after moving. Went I went for a refill for my popcorn, I asked the cashier about a partial refund due to the situation and he brought me a manager. Manager was going back and forth in the managers office about the situation telling me I should have complained as soon as it happened. I asked for a credit for at least one of my four tickets purchased, a kind no would have sufficed. I was offered to stay for another screening, but we already had other plans after the movie which would t have worked out so I asked for a credit even to come back. Instead, I was told to meet her at the box office at the entrance, but I had to meet her with my vehicle at exit (honestly felt like I was kicked out for my refund). I walked back the the car after 30 minutes of the back and forth and explained to the kids we had to leave even though the movie wasn't over. When I met the manager outside (was a different manager than who I spoke to) they told me they couldn't refund me anything because we stayed to finish the movie (wasn't true) and it was more than an hour into the movie. If the first manager would have said this, I would have accepted it but I felt robbed from the entire experience with the back and forth then being told to exit if I wanted a refund. There was nobody going around checking parking lots neither. The professionalism and customer service was a big no for me with this place. read more

We came to the Glendale swap meet at 7am on a Saturday not looking for anything specific. It was .75 per person for entry and plenty of parking. Since we got there early the area was not packed with people or vendors yet. Masks were required and there was plenty of space to distance yourself from others. There was fruit, food, tools, clothes and a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff. Some vendors looked like a front yard garage sale. Definitely will be coming back. It's a cheap fun way to spend your morning looking for goodies. Once it gets cooler it'll be better to come a little later as to give time for more vendors to arrive. read more

I'm a sucker for a good swap meet...as long as someone brought the elote! Mr. P and I have been coming here since we became "a thing". I love that the drive-in is like 42 years strong. I miss going to one. Too bad this is so far from me. I did see a movie here a hundred years ago. I don't even recall what it was. But certainly worth the trek every so often for the swap. Now, I will say that the times of yore are...well, yorer....more yore time? You get me. Getting a great deal is rare. Many of the booths have the same cheap retail goods. Screaming, unattended children run around scaring the pants off of other people with those ground snaps. Swap meet pants seem to be 2 sizes too small. The name of your shoes is one letter from legit. Most sellers search online for the top price to ask. But every so often, you can haggle your way to a deal on the tool or item you need. I appreciate the well-priced produce as well. One can grab a box of mango, oranges, tomatillos...whatever is in season, for cheap. We will sometimes grab a bag of dates just to walk around with. The DJ is a cool native guy that doesn't know us, but knows us...does that make sense? Whenever we hit the elote cart and sit down, he stops the Tejano tunes and busts out Journey, AC/DC, and even some 80s rock and pop. My favorite though, is when he plays the old cruising tunes. Best served with hot elote! The restrooms are...are...let's just say that they're hideous. Have strong thighs to hover, ladies! Overall, it's nice to walk around with your beau and check stuff out. It's worth the $2 to get in (used to be a buck!) Also, thanks for adding canvas awnings several years ago, WW! Oh, and I almost forgot. Go here for a used car for sale by owner. No, really. Decent size Swap Meet. Under a $1 per person to get in the gates. Free parking. Didn't have a selection of huaraches that I was hoping for, minimal selection at best. The beer garden was legit, thought that was pretty cool. Some food options. Variety of toys, personal hygiene, clothes, accessories, tech gadgets available. Some used items and some vendors willing to make a deal. Not too bad of a place. No shade covering to guard from the sun... and even in May, it was HOT. read more

I always love coming to this outdoor drive-in movie theater. It makes for such a great evening out especially if the weather is really nice. We usually just pile pillows and blankets in the back of our SUV and make it super comfortable. The concession stands have a nice variety of snacks as well. There is always a great spot to park to watch the movie. I've noticed that the older movies get the smaller screen and The screen is a little less sharp and smaller than the screens that the newer movies are playing on. Sometimes that makes it a little bit more difficult to see especially if it's a bright night out. It would be nice if the older screens would be upgraded as well. read more

County Fair swap meet, and Santa Fe Springs Drive In swap meet were two of my favorites. Here at WestWind, this just seems to be and over sized ghetto yard sales! And the same stuff every hundred yards! Nothing here at all would want me to come back! Now, now, let's not be so rough on this place. Actually, like any swap meet, the vibe changes depending on the weekend, time of year, and the folks there on that day. ---That's the best part. After all, this is working class stuff not the Scottsdale Fashion Square. Here's some of what I saw there recently: Inexpensive (some new / some used) Tools, shoes, and clothing especially for kids, sports team and other hats, belts, wallets, old video games, laptops (if you want to take the gamble) toiletries, perfumes (cheap knockoffs and knockoffs in original bottles). There are even half a dozen fruit and vegetable stands. You won't find a cheaper box of mangoes anywhere I know of (most of the prices are negotiable). There are chiles and spices and other southwestern edibles. There's usually a band or boombox playing Mexican Music, C&W, Rock or something lively. There's a couple of snack stands. It's only a couple bucks to get in and it's something to do on a nice day, even if you just walk around. Or here's an even better idea, instead of holding a local yard or garage sale load up the truck and head out to Glendale and share your no-longer-needed goods and have a little fun yourself. Just get there early. P.S. Though a little weather-worn, it's also the last remaining drive-in movie venue in Phoenix, maybe all of Arizona (Scottsdale closed last year). Sadly, I have seen bulldozers circling like vultures on nearby corners lately Now's the time to take your S.O. or the kids at least one night to experience this piece of historic Americana before it disappears completely. Plan on a 90 minute wait regardless of what time you get there (prior to them opening that is). Worth checking out, but don't expect too much. There's a lot of the standard drug store type stands, produce, and general second hand (or third) junk that you would expect. I think I got there too late to find the good stuff. Most of the prices were close to retail, no real bargains. .75 per person to get in is reasonable for a few good finds. read more

This place is a little insane. Just to get in the place took 10-15 minutes, waiting in our car to pay to get in. Once in, parking was a madhouse. The layout of the swap meet is mind-boggling and it is very easy to get lost. Several vendors had music blaring way too loudly and/or were speaking through microphones at an ear splitting level. It gave me a major headache. I was surprised that they only had two food vendors and one was the movie theater concession stand, The prices were horrible and the offerings were frankly pretty lame. I settled for a crappy hot dog (can't remember the price) and a large soda which cost $3.75 with no refill. This place could do so much better. The only saving grace was that we found what we were looking for, including the best apple I have had in a long time. I much prefer the swap meet on 40th street & Washington. I won't be back to this swap meet unless I am desperate. read more
