As much as I loved driving a Nissan, which I had been doing for nearly 20 years, I just switched to the new Toyota Camry hybrid XLE, which I got from Westbury Toyota. I did my homework before choosing Westbury, and learned they had the best inventory (and rating, fwiw). Also, in a time like this when you can get a great car that gets in the upper 40s MPG, and also happens to look great, you go for it. Especially with gas prices going through the roof. What I wanted to write about was the exceptional experience I had in my lease arrangement. Nateshia was one of the nicest people I've ever dealt with in all my years of leasing, or buying cars. She was relaxed, pleasant, funny, and quite human! Even though I did my homework, she got my trust. And that was maintained throughout the entire process. I did not get rushed into doing this and I came back two days after my visit to seal the deal. They did give me everything I wanted and I even got the exact model and color and trim, because they had such a large stock. It was on lot. Initially, I was worried about getting a car this popular at a time when gas economy was such a major issue, as was sticker shock that so many are going through. But I got an extremely fair deal and can't recommend this dealership enough. While the Sales and Finance managers were great to work with, all credit to Nateshia Wallace, for helping me seal the deal. And making such a comfortable environment to do the transaction in. Westbury Toyota should be very happy to have such a capable and nice person as a representative. I could not recommend Nateshia, or Westbury Toyota, more highly than I do. Westbury Toyota charged me for a service related to a part that does not exist in my vehicle. I own a 2022 Toyota Sienna, which I purchased new from a dealer in late 2022. At 65,000 miles, I took my car to a Toyota service center and requested an oil change for the engine, transmission, differential, and transfer case. The service representative quoted me approximately 900 USD. I left my car there for a day and arranged a rideshare to return home. The following afternoon, I received a call from the service representative informing me that my car was ready for pickup. When I arrived to collect my vehicle, my service representative was on his lunch break, so the service center manager handled my paperwork. He confirmed that the engine oil, transmission oil, differential oil, and transfer case oil had been changed, printed the final invoice, and processed my payment. He provided me with all the final documentation confirming the completion of the services and handed me a payment receipt. Recently, I discovered that my car does not have a transfer case, yet the service center charged me and somehow performed a transfer case oil change. At this point, I am quite skeptical about whether the other oil changes were actually completed. I do not believe this was a simple human error, as when the service representative entered my VIN into the system to select the recommended services, the Toyota Service system allowed them to choose a service for a part that does not exist in my vehicle. Furthermore, the sales representative intentionally included it in the system, and it subsequently went to an authorized service technician, which I assume involved more than one person who would have worked on a non-existent part. Later, the service center manager confirmed the completion of the service and accepted payment. Therefore, I believe this was all intentional. I also doubt that I am the only individual who has experienced this issue; this particular service center services hundreds, if not thousands, of cars daily, and many customers may not be aware of the types of parts and the costs associated with the services, leaving them vulnerable to such practices. read more

The customer service is deplorable. Unless you are getting a vehicle from them, they are not interested in providing assistance with other matters. The tone of various staff who answer the phone vary from flippant to impatiently curt. My issue required the assistance of the financial manager who, after promising that he would be accessible and responsive, totally ignored my courteous, periodic emails over the course of 2 months. (I made a point of not bombarding him and allowing sufficient time for a response.) Phone calls were in vain because they always went to voice mail. If in spite of best efforts, an issue may not be resolved, professionalism dictates that communication with the customer should be open, sincere, and respectful. Recently got my first maintenance done since Toyota Care came with the car purchase. Appointment was easy to make online. When you drive through the entrance a 360 photo is taken of the car and analyzed via AI for any body damage. It's cool to see the results. After leaving my car with the mechanics an advisor reviewed what was to be done and then I headed to the waiting room. Service took about 2 hours. A link was sent to my phone so that I could check on the status at any time. The waiting room was equipped with an all in one coffee machine, bagels, tables, chairs and couches to pass the time. After the service was done I checked in with the advisor again to take care of any payment and was given the release papers. I showed the papers to the front desk where they grabbed my keys and showed me to my car. Overall a good experience. read more

I've never purchased a car from Westbury Toyota, and honestly, after my experience with their sales department, I never will. The salespeople I dealt with were rude, dismissive, and had zero interest in helping. It felt like I was inconveniencing them just by asking basic questions. The attitude in that showroom was enough to turn me away completely. There's a clear lack of professionalism and customer care -- and judging by how they treat potential customers, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for people who actually buy from them. The check engine light was showing on my car. I dropped it off on Wednesday. They were not picking up the phone so I went to ask everyday. Thursday, I was told the technician is off. Friday, they said it's being worked on. Saturday, they told me they are still working on it and it won't be ready until Monday. It's my work car so I needed it back sooner. So they messaged me a little later, saying it's ready to pick up. They charged diagnostic plus labor fee $450. Once I took it home, after 25 miles of driving it, the check engine sign came back on. Do not buy a car from this dealer, they do not value their customers. They tried to sell a car out from under us. We put a deposit down and entered into a purchase agreement for a car in February. We waited two months for the car to arrive at the dealership. When it arrived, we were on vacation and could not pick it up immediately, but told them that we would be in the following week to get the car. It was just a matter of a few days. They called us two days after the car arrived and told us that if we didn't come in that day, they would sell it to someone else. We were paying cash and the bank was closed, so we were able to get the check and bring it in 5 days after the car arrived. Every day they called to tell us they were selling it to someone else and had re-entered into the sales system. Every time we tried to get up and walk out he lowered the price . Finally came to an acceptable negotiated price but rather unpleasant experience. Also told we needed to take out a car loan and pay it off for at least 4-6 payments before we could pay for the car in full. I brought my vehicle in on June 10th due to steering issues. I was informed the engine, battery, and serpentine belt needed replacement--costing over $2,000. I approved the repairs and picked up the car a week later. Three weeks after the service, the car wouldn't start. I had it towed back, but was told the issue was unrelated and had to be addressed by a body shop. Now, less than a month later, the same issue has happened again. We purchased a recertified Toyota Rav 4, which includes a yearly Multi-Point inspection My wife took the car to Westbury Toyota for this yearly inspection and when she got it back, as soon as she started the car the tire pressure warning light was on. Sadly, she didn't know that it could be easily reset and instead she went back in and reported the problem. She was told that one sensor was bad, had to be replaced and she paid $500 to get it fixed When she arrived back home I reviewed the multi-point inspection report and it did include re-setting the tire pressure monitoring system and we were very unhappy about the situation and wrote a negative review here on Yelp with the details. Brianna from customer service responded and asked us to reach out to the Regional Fixed Operations Director. Before we did anything, we received a letter telling us that they had identified that the charge should have been covered under the recertified warranty and the charge was being refunded.We're not sure if this was a result of the Yelp review. Nightmare experience. They removed my back seat to fix a speed sensor. When the car was fixed, the audible alert for the seatbelt not being plugged in no longer worked. I brought the car in, they told me I never had that feature. I called Toyota corporate and they confirmed I did. Corporate called the dealership and the dealership also lied to them and stated everything was in working order. It is not in working order. They removed a safety feature knowing I have 3 small children and are standing by their lie. Beyond infuriated and taking further action. Save yourself. Oh, and let''s not forget the 167 mile test drive they did over 3 days to see if the speed sensor was working leaving me with less than 10 miles of gas. I had to call several times over the two weeks I spent dealing with the sales rep and every time I called, Tara was friendly, professional, and happy to assist me. She remembered me after the first call and is a great ambassador for Westbury Toyota. The sales rep I worked with, Joel, was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. He was helpful but not pushy during the test drive of a used RAV 4, and when I was unsure if that car was big enough for my needs, he suggested a Highlander that was also available but that I had not seen online. Despite the sub-30* temperature, Joel went out of his way to find the Highlander so that I could test drive it, then and there. Both Tara and Joel were easy to work with and most helpful. Are the prices at Westbury any better than the other Toyota dealerships on Long Island? I have been using Westbury Toyota service dept for almost 20 yrs and always had good results. They always do a multi point inspection (MPI) and include a print out with recommendations and prices. When I came in for a recommended service, I was told that the quoted price 2 weeks earlier was in error and the service was $90 more. I paid it and on the new MPI, an item also had a higher price than 2 weeks before. I sent an email to the Service Mgr Nick and left a hard copy for the GM Randy with all the dates, mileage, repair order numbers, etc. so they can find all the discrepancies in pricing. The original OEM heavy chrome tire valve caps were switched to a cheap black plastic caps. When pointed it out and asked the original heavy chrome caps back, the managers and part personnel put on the horse and pony show claimed and gave cheap grey color light weight aluminum caps said that's what came with the car, and refuse to give back what we came in with. And opinionated we should use plastic cap anyway. Service department should go to the show room and compare what come with the car they sell. Just can not believe something like this can happens in a Toyota Dealer. Switching parts instead of gaining a possible loyal customer. TOTALLY DISHONEST. It was standard, the sales rep tried to upsell me and even told me there was a 5k premium during Covid. When I told him I was not paying 5k premium and I made it clear he dropped it. I also financed with my own bank which was the smart choice. I was able to purchase my car with out the hassle of any add on I did not need, and the managers and sales rep know they could not get over on me. So it was fine. But I do advise anyone who is put going to purchase a new or used car from dealership that they are in it for profit and will butter up costumers to increase sales, so if you can, please go with someone who knows how to purchase vehicles. Usually you can pay a professional $100 or so for go with you and assist with the buying process. Moreover, I have been to the service department about 4 times in the past year and a half for basic maintenance such as oil change. With the purchase of a new vehicle it is free for the first 2 years, so I haven't paid for anything this far. My last visit on 5/14 was for another pile change. The vehicle has about 17000 miles on it, and the service rep also suggested that I get my air filters replaced. I have not looked at the manually but he may be right. The service costed about $150 with tax. I declined the service because it's something simple I can do and the parts are about 50 bucks (maybe less). Showed up at dealer to test a used highlander. After test drive, we got to the numbers. I explained clearly, i had my own finance to purchase car from my bank. Salesman tells me about toyota finance but their rates are higher than my bank. I mentioned, i am trading my car in as well, no money down, give me the OTD price. He excuses himself from the table, stating he will go and speak to his finance manager, not once but twice. Cool, i get it, he has to get the blessing to provide me with a final number out the door plus the cost of my trade. He provided a number and he explained my trade is worth between $4-$6k. After further discussion, i remind him that i cannot exceed my budget. Now, i have the finance manager coming out to speak to me. From the get go-I declined the toyota finance rates, which are higher than the rate i obtained from my credit union. The finance manager, now has a printed paper and he increases the sales price of the car by an additional $1,000 and offers me less for my trade. Plus his new number suddenly is different by about $5k The finance manager, takes over the conversation and he forgets the meaning of price transparency. Greed kicks-in, 0 to 60 faster than a Porsche 911. Lack of financing -transparency leads to lack of trust. Once lack of trust is present, you be a fool to continue doing business with the dealer. By the way, this is a used car and he had yet to talk about the cost of the extended warranty, i cant imagine how much more that was going to cost. So buyers be aware, cause you are next up. I enjoy coming to this dealership. I didn't buy my Toyota here, but I have been coming here because of the excellent customer service I get when I go to the Service Department. To me that makes a difference on where I spend my money, and how far I'm willing to drive. I live 1hr away from this dealership, but I come here because they don't lie to me, I always feel that I am getting the truth whether I want to hear it or not.
