I wish they offer their adult workshops year-round. Also wish they offer Zoom classes for adults and would hold some special events more often. Most of their classes are focused towards children, not adults. They should do more to inspire adult attendance IMO. I've had a few workshops cancelled due to low enrollment, which is disappointing but to be fair, I've had this happen with other art schools too. They aren't always consistent with responding to emails so it's best to call if you have questions. I've also noticed inconsistencies on their schedule/calendars. My favorite teachers are Theresa Bates and Roy Lerner. I highly recommend (both passionate about teaching) and to learn about mixed media, which Theresa also sometimes teaches. Mixed media has changed my life in some of the most spectacular ways!

The show contained explicit sexual content and adult-themed material that was inappropriate for the audience present and not consistent with what was advertised. During the performance, a scene involving a Beetlejuice character included sexually explicit behavior on stage. This included a male performer introducing a prop male dildo/penis during the act. Audience members were also directly engaged in portions of the performance, with male audience members being specifically targeted for participation. This created an environment that I and others experienced as uncomfortable and inappropriate, with personal boundaries being crossed. This was more about sexual orientation agenda pushing homosexuality. Asking male audience who has a big penis. Humping another man from behind bending him over. Sexual harassment at an all time high. Extremely disturbing and disgusting. There was no clear warning in the advertising or event policies indicating that explicit sexual content or sexualized audience interaction would be part of the show. Families were present, including children(which should not have had entry access), which made the content especially unsuitable for the setting. As a result, my family and I felt misled and left the performance early. We also requested a refund but were not able to reach the appropriate decision maker at the time. Overall, the experience involved content and conduct that we considered inappropriate for a public performance and resulted in emotional distress.Mental nightmare. We dropped by 4 different studios and we knew PDC was for us! My 4-year-old daughter has been with PDC for 2 years and we absolutely love being a part of the PDC family! Classes are nurturing and positive, age-appropriate but certainly teaches the little ones to push themselves and do their best as little ballet and tap dancers! Owner, Paige L., and the toddler teacher, Ashley A., are absolutely amazing with the children! Each brings their excitement, their expertise, and their big hearts to the classes. Even the older dancers, who sometimes cross paths with the 2-4 year old class (or on the recital days) are so sweet and loving! They are like big sisters to the little dancers, taking them under their wing and making them feel like important parts of the PDC family. These girls have become extended family. All the parents look out for each other's daughters and support them with encouragement and love. There are workshops with special guest dancers and they have a winter performance for dancers who'd like to participate. The studio is an adorable boutique studio - small and quaint but perfect. Parents can sit right outside the class and watch. PDC is conveniently located right on Route 6 in Mahopac and parking is available behind the studio. I'm sad to have to write this as my girls liked their instructors (although there seems to be a revolving door other than maybe 1 or 2 of them) and made lots of friends. The class doesn't simply introduce little ones to music, but incorporates many facets of learning development as well. My daughter was the youngest one in the class and even though she doesn't walk, still loved the class. I am signing her up for the summer session. I'm not really sure why this is legal and mgmt's justification is that counsellors receive tips at the end of the summer. (Thank you for subsidizing some of the salaries,) but there are many committed young people who work very hard to make ever camper's summer an amazing one don't share in those tips. I'm sure the owners are doing quite well and it's a shame that a part of their success is a result of taking advantage of The young people who are so dedicated to making Kiwi a success.
