What a terrible place... This medical arts building has been there since about 1970. Not much money has been put into it in that time... The waiting area and the internal offices are depressing. This is not a confidence inspiring place. We were told to show up at 1pm, but we weren't taken until 2pm. There were lots and lots of people waiting, but few people being served. While our tech doing our MRI was great, I would never come back here again. They need to move to an updated facility and manage their wait times a lot better. read more

3pm appt - 6/22 I needed a drink after leaving there! My doc told me to get a mamogram...so I set up an appt here. I went without a script since it was just routine. Once I checked in and sent to room 25...she already seemed crabby. I explained that I did not have my script. She argued with me to the point that I wanted to cry. "YOU DON'T NEED A MAMMOGRAM. " [she was trying to sell me something else] "I can't see you today since we have to review your insurance for the option B procedure." Go get your script and come back in two weeks!" Tears in my eyes, I said, "My doc only said mammogram." "AND, BTW! I need all of your records from 5+ years ago!!!" So - I immediately went to pick up the script. IT WAS FOR A ROUTINE MAMMOGRAM!!! I went in about 2 months ago for a mammogram and it has yet to be read. They must have a big problem. I won't go back to them again. The personnel were very nice so not a problem with that. I had an appointment at the West Coast in Palm Harbor which is usually the one I go to but they cancelled my appt twice. I was told the person that ran the machine was not there anymore and they were having to train a new person. I couldn't get another appt there until summer time. read more

This sadistic organization tells my wife to come in on Saturday as a walk in. When she gets there, she is told that they do not take walk ins on Saturday. They had no explanation as to why they would tell her to come on a weekend when they have no intention of seeing her. It is definitively not a place worth to try! Total waste of time!! Let me clarify that we never even get the test that we scheduled 3 weeks ago from this review. We didn't get instructions for the type of test my partner was having but we thought they'd call to provide instructions as that day approaches. For the appointment day, we made arrangements with our work schedule. They called to cancel the test (due to insurance discrepancies) the late evening before the appointment, which didn't give my partner chance to request back her work hrs. Even after the unapologetic inconvenient they gave us, my partner decided to reschedule. They again, haven't called to confirm that everything is settled with the insurance for the new appt. My partner decided to give a call to the insurance and for our surprise, the insurance has no record of being contacted from this place, thus they can't approve until Westcoast summit this authorization request. We called back Westcoast and the representative informed us that they are still waiting the insurance's authorization. We decided to cancel. It's ridiculous to wait this long with them for a thyroid test, while at Palms of Pasadena we had a complete explanation of the instructions to follow prior appointment. Not to mention the ridiculous long wait on the phone with Westcoast each time we called them. If they didn't show to care thru the phone, I cannot imagine the care in person. I want to give them 0 stars. I went in for an ultrasound. After telling me they accept my insurance all of a sudden i get there and they tell me they don't. No worries. I want to see my baby. I'll pay anything for that. So we proceed. I go upstairs where i wait for 45 minutes. People peek out the door. I hear them laughing but not seeing patients. The tech was very cold. I cry through the whole thing. She rarely every showed me the screen. You would have thought it was her baby. After it's done i ask for pictures before Im told they put them on a disk. That alone would have made me not pick this place. I go downstairs and they can't tell me how long the wait will be. I request to pick them up days later. Days later i come back and i still have to wait 10 minutes. I get home and it takes me 45 minutes to find a program to view these images. THEY ARE THE SHITTIEST IMAGES IVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. baby was active, and moving and there were opportunities for a good picture but NO attempt was made to get a face picture. She sounded like she was guessing on the gender. Im NEVER going back. And i would NEVER recommend this place to anyone - not even my worst enemy. read more

I brought my mom in for an ultrasound. We had a good experience with West Coast Radiation. We did arrive about 20 minutes early, so I would recommend arriving early and based on other reviews- definitely make an appointment. My mom is on oxygen and tires easily, so I appreciated that there were enough handicapped spaces, close to entrance. Inside the building there were chairs close to the entrance and ample seating in waiting areas, so my mom was able to sit comfortably right away. I went to the registration desk to check her in and the staff was very friendly, efficient (they even opened an extra window of service immediately when there were only two of us in line) and helpful. They gave me a clipboard to bring to my mom, so she didn't need to come to registration desk. Once she was registered they directed us to the second floor via elevator. There was once again plenty of comfortable seating. The technician came and got my mom for her ultrasound within five minutes. She was done about 15-20 minutes later. read more

My Doctor's office worked the referral to have a Ct Scan, In a period of a week #westcoastradiology called me 5 times, every time with a different story: "we don't take your insurance", "yes we take your insurance", "the authorization is here everything is fine","we are out of network","we have authorization from your insurance but we don't know if you will pay something out of pocket", "we are out of network, you will be paying $200 call the billing dept", billing dept: "we don't know how much you have to pay"....wtf, so unprofessional, they also made me go twice to get the liquid I needed to take like I have nothing better to do...I work in a Doctor's office and guess what I will tell all the patients to don't ever go there, the personal must be drunk or mentally retarded. My mom, 89 years old, was supposed to have an ultrasound at 3 PM. Waited over ten minutes to register cause there were other patients complaining about scheduling issues. Got there early to do paperwork and discovered we did not have a photo ID, by the time the doctors office sent one an extra 30 mins. had past (our bad) BUT they get everything "in order" sent up upstairs and here we end up waiting another 50 minutes. There is NOT a soul there. Go downstairs again to find out that there was no technician! So when the hell were you going to tell us?! Mom is 89 and fasting and the test was to discover kidney or bladder obstruction and she has been holding the urge and need to urinate. I would NOT take my pets here. And of course everyone uses COVID as the excuse to justify their lack of professionalism. read more

On 01/25/18 I had a PET scan as I am a cancer patient. As of today my scan has not been read. I have called several times to talk to the manager and was told the same thing every time, "I will have the manager call you", needless to say I am still waiting for the call. Both of my Doctors have called (PCP and Cancer) and was told they have a part time Radiologist to read all the services performed. I have asked for a refund of my copay and was refused. I have been very stressed and upset as if my cancer is active then I have missed about 5 weeks of chemo. If anyone can direct me in getting this mess going in the right direction I would be very grateful. This could be my Life Westcoast Radiology is responsible for. I called my insurance co. Humana Gold Plus and they are researching this matter. My Doctors has stopped referring their patients to Westcoast. read more

Their website says they do biopsies at all location yet I learn today when they call my for the second time to reschedule my biopsy that they have not had a nurse to do biopsies for months. Went there in December of 2019 to make an appointment for Jan, got an appointment for 10:30am. I show up at 10:15 they say I am not scheduled till 2:30pm. No one called me to let me know that they changed my appointment. Even showed the receptionist my appointment card stating I had a 10:30am appointment. Was pretty pissed when she told me that there was nothing she could do! Then they screwed up my CDs. I had two different paper requests from two different doctors and had handed her the paperwork when I got there, she thought they were for the same doctor in screwed up the CDs and all the paperwork. They are not very accurate nor professional. The only thing I have to say is that the techs were awesome! Their receptionists need better training. I think I will go elsewhere next time it's not worth the time and aggravation to teach these people how to do their jobs! read more

This seems to be a troubled business. We are on Medicare. Two years and more, we went there. They evidently did not submit to our Medicare provider, did NOT contact us AND without any reason, turned us over to a collection agency. They will not return calls, did NOT ever let us talk to their billing department. One of their administrative staff was almost in tears over all the irate calls they have been receiving - including from those who were being chased for bills from 2009! read more

I agree with another review, that this is a troubled business! I had a mammogram and was told by radiologist to schedule biopsy as they saw "something". I scheduled it right away and WCR called to cancel and reschedule the appt because no technician that day. They could not see me for 6 weeks! The day before my 2nd appt, they called again to reschedule as radiologist had a family emergency. This went on for 3 mos - they cancelled 4 times. I finally got in and biopsy showed cancer. Went to surgeon who wanted MRI. Again, called WCR since they had all previous records. They scheduled appt for a week away. They called me the day before to tell me my copay. I went to the appt this morning to find out they are closed on Good Friday! read more

As someone else has reported they are continuing to take patients while unable to "read" reports. Had an MRI in early Feb. AND told today that the report is still not read as of yet. They are back logged - really?? what are you telling patients when they call in for appointments, I wonder. No clear solutions offered but it is not fair to yell at the person who answers the phone. I went here because it was the cheapest place my insurance would allow. Getting the CT Scan was fine no different than any other office. I paid my $200 portion. Was notified that the insurance only allows $150 so they owe me $50. They confirmed that they owe me $50. Services were rendered in May. It is now December and they refuse to issue the refund. They keep telling me that they switched their bank accounts and have not been authorized to issue checks from the new account. I am in finance and no for a fact that this is not a viable reason. read more

I'm not sure where to start... I had an appointment scheduled for 4:00pm. I received a call at 2:45 stating that my appointment was scheduled wrong and I needed to be there at 3:00... I got there at about 3:15. They checked me in and had me go upstairs where mammograms are done. I sat down in a waiting room with two other people. For an hour I listened to them through the door trying to figure out what I was there for and coordinate with my doctor regarding what test I needed. The other two people waiting kept asking if they knew we could hear everything as they complained and talked about my appointment for the hour. I told them what I was there for, but after that they didn't ask me anything they just kept calling new people in and complaining about my doctors office. I overheard them spell out my name and they make comments about being in the wrong patient chart entirely. Eventually they called me in, and my mammogram tech was very sweet and good at her job. But then I went to get an ultrasound in the next room. This tech was not so great. Seemed irritated with me and kept trying to explain away my symptoms repeatedly (are you sure a dog or cat didn't jump on you?! Yes, I'm goddamned sure). Then the radiologist came in while I was laying on the table in a robe, simply to tell me the results. They couldn't let me get dressed and sit up comfortably to meet the doctor? I saw him for about 2 minutes. He said he didn't see anything except the obvious thickened skin, but that we should get a biopsy to check for inflammatory breast cancer. This is the worst breast cancer diagnosis you can get, Google at your own risk. My biopsy appointment was almost a week out. When I saw the breast surgeon she told me (despite my symptoms not changing) that it was definitely not IBC and we weren't doing a biopsy. She said that never should have been mentioned to me. They also didn't put my ultrasound on the CD for my doctor like they were supposed to, luckily for me it didn't have any abnormalities so that was ok. But this was the most stressful week of my life, glad it's over. read more

I will not go back to West coast again, Been to Palm Harbor and Clearwater equipment broken down. Today went to Clearwater for a stat report and they had over booked the eight o'clock appointments. And the xray machine was also down and there were about six others waiting. I felt sorry for the ladies telling us it was not their fault. I had to get a chest x-ray for my 15 month old son this morning. I knew my son wouldn't like the experience as he's so young, but the technicians were really patient with us and let me know the best way to handle it. They were quick and helpful; even bringing in a third technician to help me hold my son still. Thank you so much! read more

My husband had an ultrasound done at Westcoast Radiology on February 15th, 2018 and his dr. has not received the report. I allowed them two weeks and then called on 3/1 to be told there was a backlog but they would expedite the report. I was advised the dr. would have the report in 24 to 48 hours. I followed up on Monday afternoon, 3/5 and was told all they could do (call center) was send an email. On Tuesday, 3/6 I called, ultrasound hadn't been reviewed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told all they could do was email the radiology department asking for a supervisor to call me. Received no phone call. I called at 10:45 this morning, 3/7, ultrasound still not read. They can only send an email to the supervisor. I went to their Clearwater office at 1:00 this afternoon, which is also listed as the primary address for Westcoast and SRA Ventures (who owns Westcoast). Again told there was no one there that I could talk to for resolution. All supervisors are in Port Charlotte FL. Have not received a call from a supervisor and am advising anyone who is considering using any of their facilities to reconsider read more

My husband had to get a stress test due to family history for his heart. Knowing that insurance will not pay until we meet our ridiculous deductible, we asked to be self pay. Our doctors office called West Coast Radiology and asked how much it would cost to be self pay? First they said it would only be $80 (which didn't sound right) but we made appointment anyways going by what West Coast Radiology had told our doctors office. My husband called West Coast Radiology a couple days before the appointment just to clarify that it would only be $80, well now all of a sudden, the price went up to $987 for self pay, so of course my husband said forget it. The guy from West Coast Radiology asked if we had insurance? so my husband explained we have not met our deductible so we have to pay full cost even if you bill the insurance, Please find out what that cost would be in full to determine whether my husband will do the test or not? The West Coast Radiology guy called my husband back and quoted $527. So my husband agreed to do the stress test for the $527. Well shortly after the appointment we received a bill for $1800 (which West Coast Radiology claimed was a mistake). Now a month later we received another bill for $387. We called to try to resolve the issue since our quoted $527 was paid in full at the time of visit. They said that it's not their fault insurance came back with a higher price.... which we had already explained to them before we agreed to do the stress test in the first place. We tried working with them but they did not knock anything off of our bill (that we never should have received in the first place). If they could not have given us the correct price when we asked, they never should have quoted us in the first place, or at least own up to their mistake and work with us. Went in this morning for a right breast MRI for suspicious finding on both Mammogram and ultrasound. The lady at registration was sweet and kind but they then had someone escort me upstairs to a waiting area. I was confused as you walk in it says MRI is suite 11. She explains they are under construction and things have moved as she leads me into a room labeled "Mammogram Ultrasound", hmm). I am early for my appointment but wait till well after my appt people going in and out when someone finally asks "are you here for a mammogram?" I reply "no an MRI". Oh, she says, "that is downstairs in suite 11". Good grief! I get to MRI and there are not the supplies to start my IV for contrast. He uses a bigger than necessary angiocatheter because it is all he has, and forgets to take the tourniquet off which was on for an hour during the whole procedure. My arm is swollen from the tourniquet and bruised where it was. The blood he dripped all over the floor was still there when the whole thing was over, hope he cleaned it before the next patient came in. I was in a tube with my arms over my head and could not figure our why my bicep was hurting, duh. Had just been to Palm Harbor the week before for a diagnostic mammogram and had an awful experience there too. They did not call to tell me they did not get the authorization from my doctor and I had to wait 90 minutes for them to get it straightened out as I showed up for my appointment unaware there was any problem. This place is so disorganized and unprofessional, the only reason they stay in business is that there is not choice in medicine you go where your insurance says you must.
