I usually would go to Sarasota Memorial, Downtown, which I do for breast exams, etc. and rate them highly. I will not come back to SMH at University Parkway for a MRI. The person providing the MRI said he was at the end of his 7 hour shift. He was not dressed neatly in "uniform" of any kind, and smelled of BO. I first thought he was a maintenance person. He did not provide assistance in terms of how to negotiate the MRI bed, what to hold on to, etc. Very casual and not engaged in the process. Very unusual from positive experienced I have had with SMH downtown.

Once you have received a dozen or so text reminders and emails you arrive and are told to finish the procedure by uploading pictures of your ID and Healthcare card for submission to them while you are in your car and in the parking lot. Having completed that, you now proceed to the office and are asked to produce the SAME documents you just sent them. Whoever came up with this incredibly stupid system must have been a brain damaged, 7-year-old with attention deficit disorder. The only thing normal and pleasant was the actual procedure which was performed by a very polite and helpful Technician.

The staff was great, friendly, joked with me. The MRI tech was friendly and courteous. The lobby is nice, the chairs are fine. Either the reviews I read were other business' sabotage, or some really snivelly, winey spoiled people didn't like the decor, and their butts were too wide or boney for the seats! And if you don't want poor quality imagery, stop fidgeting and wiggling in the machines! I'm an Army Veteran, ex paratrooper; I've had 4 low back surgeries and 3 vertabrae fused in my neck. Believe me, I've had a LOT of MRI's, this place is not bad at all! If you really want to compare, wait 4 hours past your scheduled appointment for an MRI at the VA hospital in Atlanta where you go thru for 30 mins, get pulled out, shot full of radioactive contrasting dye that feels like you just had an IV of Tabasco; then go back in for another 45 mins of noisy testing! They treat you like a side of beef, low paid government employees that don't care and don't want to work. Everything there is from the lowest bidders, so crappy furniture to peeling paint to stinky homeless bums.. Errr, sorry, "Low Hygene Urban Outdoorsmen." Compared to places I've had to go, this place is a 5 star resort! Overall, I had a good experience here, would come back again and recommend friends and family. And for you snivelers.. Suck it up, somebody ALWAYS has it worse than you do! D

After being…read moreforced to retire very young from my job as a chef that loved and worked for the biggest part of my career, my health starting snow balling down hill, from Diabeties, fybromyalgia, copd,thyroid desease & several other illnesses, a couple that made my Wieght gain go out of control no matter what or how hard I tried to not gain. I have been told by everyone I've met that I'm a very nice lady & have a heart of gold. I used to be pretty on the outside too, but my health has robbed me of my outer beauty. I have had to go to dimensional imaging in Sarasota flat 2 times now for different test. Each time I have left in uncontrollable tears due to the ignorance of the personal pointing, laughing, pushing out of the waiting room away from other patients, only to be told to roll myself through the heavy doors into the hallway on the other side, a clip board with paper work to fill out. Even when trying to take my papers & money out to the receptionist, she met me at the door, grabbed my papers & money & told to just stay in there & they would get me when they got a chance. As I sat there in that dark hallway crying because of being made to feel like I wasn't worthy of sitting in the waiting room. As personal walked by me snickering & pointing at me, I over heard the xray tech that was suppose to take my chest telling the lady that was to do my ultrasound to do my xray too because she didn't want to. The ultrasound lady looked at me & seen me crying, like other personal had as they just walked by, she immediately came over to me & asked me if I was ok & if there was anything she could do. She was the only caring person in that place. Regretfully I didn't get her name, but I thanked her for being the only one that treated me like a human being. I will never recommend anyone that has feelings & is not picture perfect to use the services at Sarasota dimensional imaging! By the time I left that place I was made to feel like I had no right being in public. If that's professionalism, I would hate to see unprofessional!
