It became obvious that we needed a kennel. I did a lot of homework and talked to a lot of people who have dogs. Some places were already full up; some I did not get a good vibe from. It was looking bleak. And then I called Montage Pet Lodge. The vibe was good, the price was more than fair, and they promised to let the dog's room together and they promised to send photos of the dogs while we were gone. The Wife agreed, and we started planning our trip. On drop off day I loaded one bluetick Coonhound (Opie) and one standard Dachshund (Nathan Jr) and headed for Montage. It was super-easy to find and looked quite organized. Opie, an easy going six-year-old rescue pup was happy to go with whomever and was not a problem. Nathan Junior, however, was not having any of it and fought the staff the whole way. Think what it would be like to drag an innocent man to the electric chair. It sucked, but the staff assured me that they would have fun, they would be well cared for and that they would use the food we provided. You can pay for them to feed them as well if you want. So, with that, I left to pack the car. After a day and a half, I called to ask for photos of both dogs. The staff assured me I would have photos by the end of the day. True to their word I was text photos of an insanely happy Opie, and a sad little Nathan Jr. But it was proof of life, and we were happy with that. Nathan never had been away from us so we knew this would be harder on him. But at least he had his big goofy brother with him. Another day later The Wife wanted another photo. I called again and asked for photos in the mid-morning. It felt like I was being an imposition, the lady on the phone was not sure they could get a picture that day, maybe tomorrow. That set off some alarm bells, like "are the dogs okay?" questions we asked. I was assured they were fine and that they would do their best. Nothing came in that day. I decided to give them until noon the next day. Nothing arrived, so I called back. Someone different answered and I explained why I was calling. There were apologies and I was told they were out in the yard but as soon as they were back in the kennel I would have photos. About two hours later I received the photos with apologies once again. That part was not fun, and we were wondering if we made the right decision. The next day we were home and I headed for Montage in the morning to rescue the pups. In a really smart way to manage flow through the office after I checked them out, I went outside to a covered gated area where you are reunited with your pups. I'm thinking over-excited urination is the reason for this, but whatever it is, it seems smart. Nathan Jr came into view straining against the leash, trying to run away, but then he saw me and really started to churn them short little legs. He was very excited, and yes, he pee'd. Opie was right behind, happy-go-lucky goofball that he is. He walked up and received some love, he looked me and turned to go back into the kennel. Coonhounds are aloof critters. So, I had one over-excited dog who wanted to go home, and another who wanted back inside. In the end I received back two very healthy dogs who had been well cared for. I was told that Opie was very protective of Nathan during outside time with other dogs which made me happy. The photo deal was a little upsetting, but I must point out that Montage makes a point of telling you at drop off that they do not promise photos every day. But you can call to request a photo, and that staff will do their best to get them to you as their schedule allows. Knowing that and seeing that the dogs are well cared for, we will use Montage again.

They're not a groomer, but our guy doesn't require a fancy haircut. It was easy to make an appointment, employees were kind and friendly, the place was scrupulously clean, and the price was right. Best of all, our dog wasn't stressed at all. If you just need the basics, we highly recommend Montage.

My dog was being seen for an ear infection, and I was presented with a list of recommended services totaling over $400, in addition to the $105 I already paid for the visit. I explained that I was trying to respect my budget, and said that I could do the ear cleaning myself, since I already had an ear-cleaning solution recommended by my dog's breeder at home. The veterinarian strongly recommended that I have the clinic perform the cleaning instead. I was told that their staff had the right equipment to get in there deeper and do a more thorough job. Based on that explanation, I agreed to the service. What happened was very different from what I had been led to expect. The technician brought out the exact same bottle of ear cleaner that I already had at home and performed a very brief cleaning doing exactly what I would have done, which took approximately 1 minute. There was no special equipment or noticeably different procedure. I was then charged $53 for something I could have easily done myself with the product I already owned. When I emailed them to express my surprise and disappointment and request a refund, I was told that because I had agreed to the service, they would not refund the charge. I understand that I technically consented to the service, but my concern is that I agreed based on the representation that the clinic was providing something substantially different or more specialized than what I could do at home. For me, this is less about the $53 and more about trust. When a client explicitly says they have a limited budget, I expect a veterinary practice to prioritize the animal's needs and be transparent about which services are truly necessary versus services that are simply convenient for the clinic to provide. I don't think encouraging a client to purchase a service by emphasizing specialized expertise or equipment that isn't actually used is an ethical way to upsell. I hope the clinic will take this feedback seriously, because I would much rather feel that I can trust my veterinarian to give me honest, budget-conscious recommendations than to use the trust I am putting in them guided into unnecessary costly services.

I found this place earlier on in the year when they appeared on the best of clark county for dog boarding. We scheduled a tour a few days later. It was clean & is a smaller boarding facility which we liked as they'd probably have an easier time keeping track of all the dogs. Although on the higher end for dog boarding pricing, we decided to book with them. Fast forward to months later when it was time to drop off our dog. It was a smooth process & they double checked the dates & feeding schedule & we were off. We were told that she'd get to play with a few of the dogs & we told them she's really friendly & would love that. That was a nice surprise as I didn't realize they did that there. Our first day back home, they called to ask us if we wanted to add on the 1on1 play time service, so that our puppy could get out some of her energy. I agreed as she'd be there for a while. Pick up was smooth as well. We had missed the early morning pick up window, so we went during the late afternoon one. When she came out, she looked like she had a great time! She even got a visit from santa. It was adorable, she had a stocking with here name on it. It made us so happy as this was her first Christmas. Everyone we spoke with there were really nice & always open to answer questions. We were even told we could call & check up on her, which we didn't do. Although priced on the higher end & I did see they raised their prices again this year, I liked how they don't charge an extra day if not picked up by a certain time. I called to make sure as I know most places do that. They only charge by the day, so As long as they are picked up & dropped off during the windows listed on their site, you're good. We will be using them for shorter stays in the future.

Unfortunately, after just a couple of sessions, I had to eat the cost and stop taking Bernie there. I think Julie W. says it best in her review in October 2017: "You know how there are some places you begin to have bad feeling about, but try to ignore them because of history or convenience? Fetch is one of them." The space is very echoey (is that a word?) and the employees are constantly yelling (I'm not sure why). It would freak Bernie out. I came one day early to watch him in there and he was cowered in a corner. The owner brought him to me and you could tell Bernie was totally terrified. They have so many dogs, and not enough people to care for them. The people who worked there when I was there ranged from midely polite to completely checked out/seemed stoned. I ate the cost of this and as a frugal person, this isn't something that I do often. Bummer because the location was so convenient. Bernie gets along well with ALL dogs. This place just terrified him and I don't trust the staff.

(It shares the space with a coffee shop so there are like 6 spots total to share.) I called in and they said she had to be approved with paperwork as well as a 30 min behavioral assessment. There's a drop off area with a counter but then they take your dog back where owners aren't allowed. I understand why now. I initially bought a 5, half day pass for $90. I took her and when I picked her up she was WILD. I thought maybe it was because this was her first time at a daycare and she was super excited. So I didn't think too much of it. That night I found a large mark on her stomach and called the vet. They said it couldn't been rough play but they weren't sure, and to keep an eye on it. That night my dog wouldn't go to the bathroom at all. I stayed up well past my normal time taking her out to try and go. I wake up about 3 hours later to find she had diarrhea all over the house. 45 minutes of cleaning that and she throws up and then goes to the bathroom again. Again, I thought maybe it was because of all the excitement. Because I bought the pass and I didn't have care set up for her while I went to work the next day..I took her back to see if that first time was just a fluke. It definitely was not!! When I picked her up she was completely drenched and while I hoped it was water..she wreaked of pee. I took her home and gave her a bath and she was so scared. I had never seen her behave like this. The same thing happened that night where she wouldn't go to the bathroom and in the night she pooped everywhere (I found out later they just let them poop anywhere. My dog is potty trained so this behavior is abnormal) She threw up again and at this point stopped eating. I immediately called the vet and they had her come in for an emergency visit where they discovered ROUND WORMS. They said chances are because they let them poop everywhere..that she stepped in it and maybe licked her paws at some point...but anyway they said I shouldn't continue taking her there. I then emailed Ted (the owner) explaining that situation in which I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE. A few days later I called back to see what's going on and the front desk person said, 'oh, there's a check here for you' and hung up. They refunded the 3 out of 5 stays I didn't use. This is a dirty place and unless you want to deal with your dog getting sick and needing antibiotics, I would highly recommend taking her somewhere else!
