As I entered my mid-30s, I realized I should probably be a bit more proactive about my health. So I scheduled a physical with a doctor (not Dr Williams, but in the same building) who laughed when I mentioned that half of my foot had been numb for several weeks. He chuckled and said, "Well, that could be anything. Nerve issues are hard to pin down." The end. My brain was saying, "So let's at least rule out those that could end in amputation!" But instead I just sat there, embarrassed, and left with zero answers. The following year I found Dr Williams. Her physical was very thorough and she actually took time to listen and ask questions. I have NEVER experienced a doctor who seemed to really care about me as a person vs as Patient #5362. Honestly. I eventually sent my husband to her as well and he came home raving about her thoroughness. We knew if she was running late, it was because she had a patient she needed more time with. And since it could've been us, we felt she was worth the wait! A couple years ago Dr Williams transitioned to an new, concierge-type office model. She did this so she could continue to focus on her patients as long as needed vs herding them through the way traditional healthcare is modeled. We didn't join her new practice but only because we moved out of state. 2+ years later, we're still searching for a new "Dr Williams". Sadly, she is one-of-a-kind.

I personally went in to the office in Springfield and requested the FMLA forms be filled out. My sister also went in and provided them a HIPAA form to release the info. I offered to pay a fee for them to complete the forms. I gave them everything they needed to accomplish the task, but they did not. They were obtuse at all turns. They would not return voicemails that I left, they would not return emails. My case was closed and my FMLA was denied. My sister had to quit her job to help take care of my mother at home because I can't make it down there without losing my job. It's common sense to me that part of a person's treatment involves their family. We did not need this added heartache and difficulty. She will continue to be a patient there, because switching therapists would cause more harm for her than good. And they seem to do an adequate job therapy-wise at least. It would disrupt her routine and she is already in a fragile state. But, in the future I wouldn't take a house plant in there to receive soothing words. I'm not sure if it was out of malice, or just ignorance, but they utterly and completely dropped the ball. Actually, they never picked the ball up.

The first thing I used to do in the morning was to reach over for a bottle of hydrocodone and take a couple or three to "get started" with my day, then I would take a few more during the day to "get through." Pills were my coping mechanism. Then I came to Pathway in Springfield TN and that changed. I have met such kind, compassionate people here who never sit in judgement of anyone. I do not know everyone's name but I wish I did so that I could mention them all here. The therapists: Doug, Mary, and Austin (I think there are one or two I haven't met) are terrific. Austin's groups are great and one day I saw her helping someone with many medical problems and no insurance, Austin was finding her some much needed assistance. Doug was excellent when I met him, and I talked with Mary yesterday and will be continuing with her, I found her to be so incredibly easy to open up to. I cannot remember the name of the office manager (I think it begins with a "G") but a few months ago I was tearful and worried about an issue and she gave me a huge hug and sad "We will work this out" and they did! Deborah at the front desk has been enormously helpful and accomodating. The nurses have been wonderful : and I regret my inability to recall their names, one petite lady with brown hair and glasses and one tall lady with blonde hair and glasses who was at the desk yesterday (7/24/2020) , I could not ask for kinder people with whom to see when I come for my appointment. I saw Dr. Duffy at first and she is just the sweetest and most thoughtful person you could ask for in a doctor. She is now at another location and I see Dr. Shearer, who is absolutely marvelous. I had known him in another setting and therefore was a bit nervous about having him for my recovery doctor, but I need not have worried: he has been a great combination of friendly and professional and he takes an interest in the lives of his patients, not just their prescriptions! He always asks how things are going and recalls what you spoke with him about the previous visit, and encourages you to follow your interests and hobbies and even makes some suggestions from time to time about how you can do that. I find him to be just the best, and I am am so grateful for him and his help. I am beginning to feel that these folks are sort of a second family and that's a good feeling. Thank you, Dr. Shearer and all the staff!

I explained the situation and made it clear that I was feeling much better but couldn't return to work without a note that excused the previous four days absence. They made it sound like they could do that but I would need to come in. I did that. Only after my appointment, did they tell me that they could only write the note for the previous day. This means that I would have had to see them at least twice to fulfill my work requirement. If they had been honest with me in the beginning, I would have chosen another provider. If you are in this situation, you need to get care elsewhere!

We called, set the appointment, we're told the time and how much it would cost. We arrive, he goes in , gets his physical, pays and we leave, they wouldn't give him two copies so we had to go elsewhere to make another copy, after paying them for this. A month later we get a bill for an office visit and a tab skin test, stating we paid a portion and owe the rest. I tried to call and get this worked out and called corporate office and spoke to someone who calls himself jetson. Not only was he rude, he didn't understand that an office visit was never performed and for him to dig his heels in and tell me it was was medical fraud. He told me to report him. So I I did. I reported the visit to the office of the inspector general, the office of Medicare and Medicaid and the fbi. Not all because of what jetson said, but the 3 bills and more conversations with people. So jetson changes the code and the charge, we don't owe as much now...but they still are charging extra codes when you walk out of the building, imagine what they are doing to insurance bills. The lady at the front desk told me to be quiet and she was glad I had time to keep calling about this bill. That was what made me decide that this is absolute FRAUD, I was told if I didn't pay the bill they would just charge my card because my husband signed the form allowing them to do that, he said he thought he was signing permission to treat. BEWARE these people are committing medical fraud on self pay and health insurance and then becoming extremely defensive and combative when you call them out on it. In the event the you need to report them The office of the inspector general, the office of Medicare and Medicaid and the FBI all have medical fraud units, easily found with a google search. Update~ called another clinic to get help regional managers number, I figured they would want to know that not only are customer service skills lacking, this is dishonest and illegal. After 5 minutes on hold I'm told I can't have that name or number, they will take mine and call me back....still waiting.... So why can't I have the name or number of regional management? I think I'll call the hospital to find out and update my review again later. Update - went to the corporate website and they also would not give me info, I was able to type out a formal complaint that when I clicked send I wasn't sure if it sent or if it disappeared. Still waiting.....

My wife just went here and they would not listen to any of her symptoms which had nothing to do with the flu, Covid or strep, but they proceeded to test her for all of those. She has an obvious sinus infection that she gets every year like clockwork, however this doctor said she can't give antibiotics until you have a sinus infection for a week. So instead of treating it, she wants it to wear out on its own I guess? Then possibly get some medicine in a week, in which another visit will have to be paid.

I waited a month for my scheduled PCP appointment on 6/24/26 @ 10:45am and went in early did all my paperwork and sat down. I saw some commotion between patients and front desk staff named Heather even her coming out speaking to a dad that had been out there almost as long as me telling him he can't be seen because the form he brought in they don't fill out that the form needed to be filled out by his childs Pediatric doctor which they didn't have one. I then walked up to the front and said "could you check on my appointment I have been here over an hour?". Heather had another staff member standing over her and heather tells the staff member "her appointment was skipped over and so was another person". She told me that multiple patients appointments were skipped over and told me it was her fault. She said I would be seen momentarily. I waited about 8 more minutes then went back up and told her to cancel my appointment because we were going out of town and I didn't have time to wait and be seen that would probably take another 30 minutes or more. My question is I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years doing billing and admin work on EClinical Works. How is the front desk able to "Skip" over patients that are on a schedule? It's not possible on an electronic health software. Why is this facility giving a front desk person so much control over patient care? Also there were so many patients there they needed two people doing the front desk work because she was extremely overwhelmed. The lady standing behind her wasn't doing anything to help or expedite the situation she was just standing there! Front desk usually checks a patient in after all the necessary things are done and that signals the nurse to bring the patient back on the computer. Very unprofessional and unorganized especially me waiting a month for an appointment. I was assuming the PCP appointments were separate from the urgent care appointment but it didn't seem like that was the case. If someone has an appointment the ones that don't should have to wait.
