    General rv area

Very nice campsite. I was worried about it from some of the bad reviews. For rv camping it was a great stop with clean bathrooms and nice host. I've been to a lot of campgrounds and this place isn't bad. A few things look a little worn like the picnic table and sewer cap but it's nice. I didn't see any "long term trailer people" but I can see how it would be noisy if you were camping in a tent. I liked it here. Good place to stop if you are traveling through.

Good location, off of i80. Very helpful staff, easy chệCk-in. Clean facility. The check-in map is very useful.

We needed a stop in Rawlins for a single night to break up a long drive and picked the KOA. The park is right off the freeway, but we had very little noise from the traffic. The roads and sites are gravel and most of the sites are pull through. Our site was just long enough for us park and leave the car attached overnight. Each site has a small concrete pad with a table and privacy wall to help block some of the wind that is frequent in the area. We did not check out the restrooms or showers as we were only there a few hours. Staff during checkin was great. Their wifi worked fine and they had cable at each site. We will stay here again when in the area. See our full reviews and pictures at www.thegilliamsisland.com.

This is an excellent stop-off KOA. This is certainly not a destination campground but we had a nice shower and sleep here. We stayed in a camping cabin. The little playground was also nice for our kids after the long drive. It can get super windy here in Rawlins so I wouldn't recommend tent camping here. Super clean facilities and friendly staff.

This place was great! The Kabin was affordable and clean! What a great way to travel with our dogs! We got bundles of firewood for $4 and got to enjoy the beautiful Wyoming night sky! The camp hosts were friendly and helpful! The bathrooms and showers were really clean and kept up! It is right next to the highway, but you can't hear the traffic! This was a way better option for us rather than a low rated motel for the same price!

I was disappointed in this KOA, they have a splash park advertised for the kids, however when we got there it was locked with a chain. After talking to some folks that lived on site they said it never works. Spaces are dry, and unkept. WiFi is sparse, so if you want to use any device forget it. The staff was friendly however seem to have their hands tied on problems, "since they just work here". On the plus side our site had no cable, the staff worked hard to get us cable for the night. Wish I could say something more positive.

Great place to stay even though the snow was coming we had to run!!

Dirt lot. Many here appear to be long term residents in their trailers. This whole side of Rawlins trailerland. Keep driving.

Loudest, windiest place I've ever camped in my life. Sounds like the trucks are gong to drive through your tent.

Everything was new and clean. The campground was ugly. Wifi was weak. I wouldn't stay there again.

I don't recommend this place. "Pool" filled with dirt. KOA staff were very rude and unfriendly. Only dirt everywhere. Bad experience.

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly staff and amenities like a loaner vehicle, etc. Our most recent stay was a different story. There are new owners who recently acquired the facility from some careless previous owners who had let the place go downhill. Many of the fun things we enjoyed before were in bad shape or just not working. The new owners apologized for the "mess" and assured campers that they are working on restoring the campground to it's former glory. They were working on several items that we noted, like the mini golf, and the abundance of sticker weeds throughout the park area. One thing I regretted about our stay was that the office chose to park someone directly next to us for our single night stay when there were very few occupants and many many sites to choose from. At the very least, they could have separated each camper with an empty space in between. I understand if they were super busy and had most sites occupied, but there was hardly anyone there and we suddenly had a direct neighbor. I'm hopeful that they will be able to turn things around. I plan to check back in with them when I pass through the area. Their pricing was less than the adjacent RV park, that did not seem to offer much more.

This place has potential, but unless someone unlocks it, it will just suck. We were placed immediately next to another camper even tho there were 20 other spaces to choose from. We were told the park would fill up because ALL spaces were reserved. When we woke up, the park was just as empty as when we went to sleep. I found the "not recommended" review to be the most accurate of all these reviews.

We had site 38 which was a decent distance from the highway so the traffic noise was not bad at all. 2. Site had nice little patio and furniture with a small privacy fence around 2 sides. 3. Easy access to sites 4. Friendly desk attendant 5. Good water pressure in showers. 6.Campground area was clean. CONS- 1.This is most important. The hot water in the shower was only SLIGHTLY WARM. Seriously it NEVER actually got even close to hot water. Husband and I were in 2 different shower stalls of course, his did not get hot either. This was with the water turned all the way on hot, we both let it run on straight hot but it NEVER got past slightly warm. Maybe this wouldn't be a big deal in the warmer months, but it was in the 30's this night. We do not have a shower in our truck camper so we rely on campground showers. 2. The shower stalls are VERY VERY small. Possibly only 28" wide X 5' long. Without a tape measure I can not be sure of exact size, but they could not have been much bigger than that. 3. With a flip down seat in the drying area I could only stand with my back to the wall with the seat in front of me, no room at all to move around to dry or dress. I had to remove soap, shampoo, etc off the seat flip it up to dry and dress.

I didn't make a reservation because I wasn't sure how far west we were going to make it yesterday (we debated the Fort Collins KOA in Colorado, but that would have added an additional 100 miles to our drive today). Our goal has been 500 miles a day and this was the perfect stop. This is one busy hub! There were so many sites occupied by vehicles especially with CA plates. It was literally just a place to stay for the night as the amenities are low. There's no water feature, but there's a few spots for dogs (2 open dog runs and an off-leash area, but none are shaded). Our site was just off the highway. It was very noisy especially outside the RV. It was a tad frustrating to find our spot ourselves; we got used to the office clerk hopping into a golf cart to escort us like at the other two locations. I did see two golf carts later when walking our dogs; not sure why they didn't help us but we did pull into the wrong spot. The people who were supposed to be in it were gracious and laughed with us. My husband said "2 stars!" because the wifi kicked off after 30 minutes, but we both got a solid sleep. It was windy and rainy. The thunder was enough to keep the girls huddled up in the RV so neither had interest in the dog park. Overall, I would rather stay on BLM land in the area (we stayed near the off-ramp to Bandit Fireworks in Wamsutter) like we did the first leg of the trip. Pros: - friendly - clean restrooms - individual shower stalls show "occupied" or not - grill menu until 6 pm Cons: - spots are VERY close together - lots of highway noise - wifi didn't work
