Usually, when one goes in to see a health practitioner, you would think they would spend a few minutes with you to talk about your issues. She didn't even introduce herself to me. I was basically handed a bunch of forms, and her demeanor was aloof and uncaring. She explained nothing of the process, how long it would be, what she was doing. After getting needles put into me, she walked out of the room, just "relax for a few minutes" was her instruction. After the therapy was done, she told me to get dressed. I came out and paid the co-pay. She didn't ask me how I felt, or recommended any follow ups, nothing. She couldn't get rid of me fast enough. I came in to get some help for some health issues, and I was met with no empathy or compassion. There is a response to my initial review, and it is untrue. There was no introduction, no talk about how the treatment works, there was no conversation about a follow up treatment or anything. It's just damage control. read more

I should begin by saying I am not only a regular patient of Lisa's but also a primary care physician who has referred many patients to Western River Acupuncture for a variety of medical conditions, and I have yet to have someone come back to my office without profusely thanking me for helping them discover Lisa. I first came to Western River Acupuncture when the acupuncturist down the road, who I had gone to for over a year and thought great, was fully booked. I had no idea until that day just how much I had missed out on by not going to Lisa. I have been to about a dozen acupuncturists, and Lisa is in a league of her own. She is far more attentive, kind, and effective in her craft than all the others. She will sit with you for 45 minutes and actually listen to your concerns; physical, emotional, and even spiritual. After the standard acupuncture and TENS unit therapy, she progresses to cupping, before utilizing a unique dynamic cupping technique that elicits a rapid-onset healing reaction in your body like nothing you've had before (it is also a fantastic massage). You will leave relaxed and feeling remarkably better. If you have a stiff neck, it will loosen up. If you have a strained muscle, it will feel like new. And if you have a chronic ache in your low back, the pain will be substantially diminished. My one advice is not to hesitate if you have an injury or spasm or kink in your neck. Text Lisa at once, because I've found that the sooner you go, the more likely you'll have a complete recovery in just one treatment. Made an appt for my boyfriend who was severely injured from playing hockey. The pain in his neck and back kept him from doing a lot of regular everyday activity so I figured I'd make him an appt for cupping/acupuncture. The appt was an hour long so I dropped him off and came back an hour and 20 min or so. He told me after his appt he had walked down the get Thai food and when I walked in he was sitting straight up with a glass of white wine in his hand and a face of pure bliss. He said that he felt "euphoric" and that the whole experience was really amazing and relieved so much of this terrible pain he's been experiencing. Mind you, before this we have tried everything. We iced his back and neck 24hrs a day and nothing brought him relief but the service he received from this establishment. Being a mom of a 33lb toddler and an orthodontist, I hurt my lower back recently. So happy I found Lisa who is warm, knowledgeable and kind to help me with my back issues/pain. Lisa is phenomenal at what she does! After complaining of sharp back pain, Lisa insisted on seeing me. I didn't have much time, but even just the short 15-minute session I had with her resulted in significant improvement and relief from my back pain. First she had me lay on my back to check my internal organs. She pushed around my abdomen, checking to see what was tender or not and then after assessing my situation she gave me abdominal acupuncture. If you're scared of needles but want to try acupuncture, go to Lisa because she was so lightning quick, I didn't feel a thing! I've been getting acupuncture for years now and I can tell you that her technique is impeccable! She practices magnetic acupuncture so she applied some magnets at certain points on my hand and massaged those points. After removing the needles, she pressed on my tender abdominal areas again and the tenderness and pain were completely gone! Then she had me turn over for localized treatment for my back pain. Again she pressed around my back and had me measure my back pain from 1-10 (10 being the most painful). Then she applied the needles and magnets and worked her magic. After removing them, she again pressed my most painful spots and had me re-measure the pain. All of my 9's and 10's were reduced to 4's, 5's, and 6's! Even some 2's scattered in there! I love how measureable her results are. It's a real confidence builder for her when I can measure my improvement. Not only is she an amazing acupuncturist, but Lisa is also a great conversationalist. I was comfortable throughout my treatment because she kept the chatter light, friendly, and fun. Of course she could also tell when I just wanted to be quiet and relax. I know this seems like a lot in just a 15-minute treatment but it's all true! I can only imagine how much better I would be if I had time for a full treatment with her. Next time! She told me that she's been doing this for 8 years and is the 2nd generation of acupuncturists in her family so you can trust that she knows her stuff! Lisa is amazing! I had an hour session with 30 minute acupuncture+cupping+heat+magnet therapy on top of a 30 minute massage. I never had acupuncture before but it was not painful at all surprisingly. She spotted out the areas I was having problems with very easily.
