Wow, it's been several years now and I can't believe I never left a review (then again I had no idea they were on Yelp). Both Dr. Mahjoubi and his staff was incredibly responsive when I had any questions or concerns. I was on the program for about 6 months or so and it helped me at a time nothing else would. I went off it after to try TMS which was a total waste of time and money. My situation changed financially so I couldn't afford to go back but I honestly felt like it was very helpful while I was in the program. First off the clinic is NOT healing! They are overpriced and only care about money and good reviews. To start, my first appointment was short and to the point. No later than 5 minutes later I get personal texts from the clinical staff BEGGING for good reviews. I made a few last ditch efforts to resolve this nicely, because $400 waste of a product really upset me and they couldnt even do a refund or a replacement. I'm so happy that I decided to give this clinic a try, one of the best decisions I've ever made. It was the most comfortable setting I've ever received my infusions. Doctor Mahjoubi was always there to consult with me before and after the infusions. Nurse Vera is very sweet and extremely professional with the needle, getting it in my arm in just one go. Elena at the front desk is very kind and makes the appointment booking process simple. And my favorite thing here is that during the infusions there is absolutely no interruptions, the machines I'm hooked up to don't make any loud noises to disturb me. Not sure where to begin since it's been a couple months since I have revisited my personal trauma and depression. I will admit that I was in a pretty dark place for longer than I want to admit. Frequent visits to the doctor trying to figure out and in pinpoint what was causing physical pain (migraines, maxillofacial pain, neck, etc.). Only to keep getting the run around and as my anxiety kept climbing to the point that I couldn't function both professionally and in my personal life - calling out of work, WFH and cancelling on friends or romantic dates, I was using alcohol to cope and prescription medicine hoping I would just feel normal for the day. One thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to feel better and I wanted my happy life back. I am not going to sit here and tell you that I am no longer on anti-depressants, I am at a much lower dose and I still get a little anxious over silly things we cannot control as we all do. Fantastic doctor, fantastic clinic. I think it's some point I'm going to write a long review but for now I wanted to spread the word as quickly as possible. I've had the occasion see more than one clinic and I can assure you this is the most personalized, professional, comfortable and state of the art facility that I have seen. The fact that you meet with an anesthesiologist with an impressive resume (it's on his website) and that he sees you personally at each visit is a huge asset. The rooms where the infusions take place are spotlessly clean and they seem to pay great attention to sterilization; during these days of COVID-19 that is obviously paramount. Treatments are giving while you are sitting in a very comfortable powered recliner with a 90° to 180° range. My experience here yesterday was completely different from my experience at another ketamine clinic in Los Angeles, and I mean that in the best way possible. At the previous clinic, the nurses were unable to locate a vein during my last two appointments. I left the office in tears with bandages and ice packs all over both of my hands and arms because they attempted to poke me with needles at least ten times each day with no success. I had NEVER had an issue like that with my veins in the past. The bruises I woke up with were absolutely gnarly. Unfortunately, I could not complete the full series of infusions that I was supposed to receive because of this. It was needlessly painful and the thought of going back to suffer through that again was out of the question. Obviously, I was extremely reluctant to try another ketamine infusion due to that experience, but I decided that my recovery from years and years of severe anxiety and depression is more important than anything to me at this moment in time, so I might as well give ketamine the full chance it deserves to work. After several weeks of telling myself that I was never going to get another infusion again, I finally took a chance, did some research, and found Ketamine Healing Clinics of L.A. First of all, Elena made setting up an appointment easy and quick. I felt zero pressure to schedule and pay for multiple sessions, and instead was asked what I felt comfortable doing as I was coming straight from another clinic that had been unsuccessful in helping me. I was feeling very nervous and doubtful about trying this all over again, but after our phone call, I became more relaxed and hopeful that this would be a better experience for me. The entire check-in process was pretty straightforward and luckily I didn't have to wait a long time to get settled into the treatment room. I was immediately glad that there was no camera inside the room watching my every move (the other clinic had one) so I already felt more at ease because of that. It's nice to have a sense of privacy, especially in a vulnerable state. Dr. Mahjoubi took plenty of time to speak with me before and after my infusion. He gave me helpful suggestions, answered my questions thoroughly, and reassured me that his staff was there for me in case I needed anything at all. He even gave me a bottle of herbal supplements for me to try at bedtime for my insomnia, which I appreciated very much. My favorite part was meeting the incredibly competent nurse who took less than two minutes to locate a vein in my arm and painlessly hook me up to an I.V. When I told her what had happened to me at the previous clinic, she told me confidently that she is the best at doing this (successfully locating and sticking veins) and I agree with her-- she is! I sat in a nice reclining chair for the duration of the infusion and was given a soft blanket, noise-canceling headphones and an eye mask to ensure that my experience was as comfortable as possible. Not listening to any music during this journey was key. It allowed me to drop in more deeply and not be influenced by sound, which was something that I found to be quite peaceful. I don't want to get my hopes up too high because I haven't completed all of my sessions yet, but I felt pretty good for the rest of the day and had more energy than I've experienced in a while. This is a really great sign and shows me that I've possibly found the right course of action for my mental health concerns. I'm so appreciative of Dr. Mahjoubi and his staff for the hope they gave me yesterday. I'm feeling optimistic about my continued care at this clinic and I truly could not be more grateful, which is why I wanted to write this review. For those of you struggling to find the right treatment for your mental health and/or chronic pain, ketamine infusions may be worth looking into. I have treatment-resistant depression, which means I don't respond to typical treatments like medication, regular talk therapy, and other various forms of intervention that usually work for the average person with depression. I had a series of Ketamine treatments at this clinic several years ago and through no fault of the treatment itself it just was not effective. Dr. David Mahjoubi and his staff were professional and attentive. At the end of the series of treatments Dr. Mahjoubi called me to talk about my experience with the treatments and promised me that I could come in at any time in the future for a free treatment to see if I would respond better at some point. He clarified that there was no "expiration date" for this offer of a free treatment. Years later the Kaiser HMO gave me a series of esketamine sessions with the ketamine nasal spray. The doctor that gave the kaiser treatment said at one point that i might want to look into getting the intervenous ketamine which is a higher dose than the Kaiser clinic could give by nasal means. At this point I remembered Dr. Davids kind offer of a free treatment. I called Dr. David's personal cell number which he had given me when I was his patient. The call said that for a faster response I should text him. I was in the middle of texting him when I got a call from his office receptionist saying how could she help. I told her about the offer of a free treatment and wondered if she could schedule it within the next few weeks. She asked me to hold so she could ask the doctor. She returned to the phone a few minutes later and said the offer of a complimentary session was denied by the doctor and would cost me about $700 dollars. I asked her if i could talk to the doctor and she said no. I left a voice mail and and text and there was no response. I don't think I would go back to this clinic even if they did offer me a free session at this point. I use Yelp often for the reviews and have only left two negative review before. I was at the point of no return. I've had severe trauma since I was a child, severe chronic stress for most of my life, PTSD and have seen many psychiatrists and psychotherapists. Anybody can hang an IV drip, but think what sets this clinic apart is the kindness of the staff and the Dr. The doctor actually looks you in the eye, smiles at you, and asks about how you are doing. Ketamine IV therapy provided by Dr. Mahjoubi, worked like a miracle on me. This is my honest review in hopes of helping you. I had heard about Ketamine for severe depression 2 years ago, and when the FDA recently approved a nasal spray version of it for depression, I looked into it again. It was a last resort option that I had to take, after suffering for almost 15 years. I found Dr. Mahjoubi on the Internet, and after a telephone consultation was ready to try it. He is a very humble man, and if you look at his background, he is very accomplished in his field. This enabled me to look at him with trust and faith in treating me, with what some still consider experimental therapy. Apparently the treatment is 85% effective immediately after the first therapy, and worth a try. Most of the other medications I had been on would require up to two months to evaluate for efficacy, with only a 30% chance of success, with overwhelming debilitating side effects. I had Kaiser HMO, but they were not delivering results after over a year of being with them. I later found out that Kaiser only provides Ketamine IV therapy in Northern California with a different type of protocol. I am now off of three prescription meds. My tinnitus is significantly less. My energy level is high and my self confidence is back. The hopelessness feeling of depression is gone. My Anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and various chronic pains have significantly improved, if not handled. Currently I use the nasal spray on an as needed basis, but not needed that often. Although I cannot testify on this, it apparently works for Alcoholism, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Regional Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), among other things as well. I am so disappointed in the FDA for not approving such drugs long ago for such purposes, although the drug has been on the market for over 60 years. The version the FDA approved turned out to be a different molecule L-Ketamine that was patent-able, versus what had been on the market and tested extensively. I despise those who allow needless suffering. If god forbid you too have been suffering, I hope you give it a try and see if it works for you too. Dr. Mahjoubi gave me my life back. I had a long lasting trauma caused by bad doctors (they put a new trauma on top of the original one), This clinic, doctor and the nurses really helped me overcome that, both the original trauma and the bad doctors. I recommend to anybody that had a bad treatment before... at the same time I understand it is hard to look for treatment after a bad one. read more

My life has drastically improved since coming here. I've been suffering from chronic panic disorder, chronic depression, and other behavioral problems. I've been on countless medications (Prozac, Cymbalta, Abilify, Ativan, Valium, Ambien, Vyvanse, Adderall, Klonopin, you name it) and I've had horrible side effects with nearly every single one of them. Can't say enough about this office, Dr. Mahjoubi and the staff. Went into my series of treatments skeptical but desperate. A little more than a month after my most recent infusion, I'm shocked at the impact this has had on my well-being. I don't write a lot of Yelp reviews but I wish everyone knew how helpful and effective this therapy might be for them. As others have noted, their front office staff is fantastic. And as a veteran of blood draws and IV-sticks, I can attest that Vera was born to do this job. What's more, I was lucky enough to have had two appointments led by Kolleen, who, along with Dr. Mahjoubi, is exceptional at communication. She's truly gifted at what she does, and is one of the most intuitive, caring and patient patient advocates I've ever worked with. (I've worked with a LOT.) I've undergone one round of treatment with Dr. Mahjoubi after completing a series with another practitioner. The level of care,compassion, empathy, dignity, and respect, and down right personalization is unsurpassed and undeniable. The other place served its purpose and puts fourth an effort to provide these things but it seems less genuine and/ or not quite as authentic but at the end of the day, it still seemed more so about the money with the other place. Granted, it's still a business but it's apparent that it's not all about the money with Dr. Mahjoubi. It's difficult to explain but the difference is palpable in just the subtleties. I wish I would have undergone my entire series with Dr. Mahjoubi but I'll definitely be seeing him from here on out for my follow ups and boosters. The process took a little bit longer but I can appreciate and understand why. It's because he takes his time with his patients as opposed to just "making his rounds". God Bless Capitalism! read more
