I was on a road trip from LA to Denver with a planned stop at Grand Junction. About 140 miles out--in the middle of nowhere, in 100 degree heat--my Maintenance light came on. Then I got an alert to see a dealer like, NOW. Fortunately my trusty RAV4 got me into town. Travis and the whole amazing team at Western Slope took great care of my car. They were courteous, professional, and fast. Diane gave me a ride into town so I was still able to enjoy my stay. Then I was back on the road again, my car running like new. After months of anticipation, I got THE call this morning--my Toyota was ready for pickup. The test drive was everything I'd hoped for. The paperwork was 99% complete. I was literally two minutes from driving off the lot. Then it all fell apart. Three red flags that made me walk: - Credit Union Roadblock - The dealership refused to provide my credit union with a bill of sale before the transaction date, then immediately pressured me to switch to their financing sources. - Warranty Scare Tactic - They claimed that an extended warranty purchased from an East Coast dealership wouldn't be honored in the Western U.S. (This is false--Toyota warranties are honored nationwide.) - The Deal Breaker - They insisted I sign a mandatory arbitration agreement waiving my right to take them to court, claiming it was "required by law" to complete the sale. Amy H and the parts staff at Western Slope took care of us while we were passing through from CT. Just friendly, professional, can-do folks. It was a quick wiper blade replacement and fluid top off. But it's the "how" as much as the what that counts, and each person we interacted with (five in total) were just really nice and professional. What a week it's been! Many thanks to Chris, Amy, Ian, and Josh at the WSA Ford Service Counter, and the unsung heroes in the back. It started as a code service issue regarding a PCV valve, which turned into an oil pan leak, to a cracked head and head gasket issue. Yeah, we're talking five digits here. Chris coordinated the payment on the repair with the third-party warranty administrator and all I paid for was the original Crank Case Pressure Sensor. Took my truck in twice the original appointment was for full service and replace gas cap clear sensor as it had a vapor leak sensor (check engine light on). Went back for second an appointment to have the gas cap put on and check engine light cleared. Went in to pick up truck and was told I had a vapor leak somewhere they did not locate. I asked maybe it was the gas cap you replaced did you clear the sensor after installing new gas cap. Nope did not check that you will need to make an appointment. No no I won't because I won't be back. I used to love ford service but my how things have changed. Didn't mind van paying a little more for good service now you pay more for poor service. Took vehicle into Wester Slope Ford on 6/24 for a steering vibration. Was told the front tires were cupping (rear tires had normal wear), tires were rotated, and an alignment was done. Truck was put on rack and service tech said he didn't see any issues. When I picked up the truck, was told the issue was fixed and that the cupping would eventually wear even on the 2 cupped tires. Was told I didn't need four new tires and tires were salvageable. Total service charge was $250+. Fast forward to today and vibration in steering wheel returned while driving. Took vehicle to different auto mechanic to get alignment checked again after driving 4 or 5 hundred miles this week. Alignment was already off. Told that lower ball joints need replaced and that tire cupping will never even out. The mechanic recommends 4 new tires. How the hell did you miss this Western Slope Ford? I will never go to you again. read more

UPDATE: The 'Business owner' who replied to my review did not contact me back when I emailed her as requested. It is possible I did not give her enough time and it is possible she is trying to save some face for the dealership on Yelp acting like they care. Not her fault, not a knock on her. I actually emailed to see if she is with an agency because if given the right authority she does an amazing job following up (in public) on every social media platform. I decided to trade my Tremor in. I have been working with the same salesperson for over a decade. Most recently we purchased a new F-150 and then stepped up to the 250. We have also purchased a transit. For years I've sent everyone I know to my salesperson when asked, because I trust him. unfortunately, the minute my relatively expensive truck had issues, I was ignored , lied to low balled and all around treated like crap. Clearly the level of service in the service department trickles down from the GM who basically told me to go elsewhere from now on. im certainly not a big customer, but for me a new 2021 F250 Diesel Tremor loaded with all the trimmings was a big purchase. I had a minor issue with the windshield that after ignoring me for nearly a year , they put in wrong for the third time. I had other service problems from the beginning. I had to get Ford involved and instead of fixing the issue they asked me to take my business and my warranty and recall work elsewhere buyer beware. There GM and service side does not care about the customer. So I have an expensive truck that won't do what I purchased it to do. I have been in direct contact with Ford and the BBB. I will continue to escalate the issue until it is resolved. I've sent them Ford service bulletins and told I'd have to pay for it myself. Most recently I was told to go elsewhere after I called the GM out for trying to pressure me into taking a bad cash offer for my truck. as a small business owner that tries to buy local and has been a good customer, I can't believe the way they treat people. read more

My 2021 F350 had a hood ajar light come on. This affected the remote start as well as sending me false warnings. I took it to WSF and they told me it would not be warranted because to them it looked like someone had cut the wires that were lose from the connection. It was not cut, but must have been pinched or somehow knocked lose during service. They refused to warrant the repair. I told them it made no sense for me to find the wires and cut or pull it out, but they insisted I had something to do with it. The part is $90 and I had to order it myself to do the repair or pay them the part and labor. BS. Never use this business. They have a reputation of not treating customers fairly. Toyota service has been an issue. They want to inspect your repair issue to see what parts may be required. Then they schedule you again for repair after they receive the parts. Count the repair taking two appointments and weeks apart. An oil leak took 3 visits. One to put a dye in the oil. 600 miles later return to see if and where the leak is and what gaskets they need to order, then another day to repair. A broken emergency brake also requires an inspection, order parts and then return for repairs. Note these all require appointments where you leave your vehicle at 0800 in the morning and get it back that afternoon. It is a ponderous business model. Just be aware it may take weeks to get a repair. And you may have to do it a second time as I had to do on the above oil leak. Be patient. read more

We've had the car for almost 2 years now. The service department is absolutely terrible at Western Slope Ford. You can never "talk" to anyone, and texts go unanswered. We just paid $63 to another auto shop to secure numerous bolts that the dealership didn't do correctly when making a repair to the vehicle. The loose bolts resulted in a thumping noise all the way from Denver to Grand Junction and the stripping of threads on one of the bolts. The service center couldn't get us in until April!!!! So we had to take the car elsewhere. Last fall a simple battery replacement couldn't be done, resulting in a second trip to the shop and then a tow, when they didn't properly reclamp a piece after finally replacing the battery. We've asked for an oil change only to have them forget to do it! It's been a very frustrating two years and we're finally done taking it to Western Slope, we'll go to the independent shop we've found that has done great work on our other cars, and figured out the noise issue without making us wait over a month. I would not recommend western slope ford. They told me the car i was purchasing had a brand new transmission. Two months later, I'm stranded on the side of the road. Eventually get it back to western slope and I explain what's going on and the girl says "oh ya, this is a super common problem for these cars" then they tell me 3 weeks later it needs a transmission clutch. Says it's going to be over 10 hours of labor and the part is a little over $1800. I got the run around from 3 different people. They were going to charge me $130 for the tech service. They KNEW this car had problems and still sold it. Very professional... I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership. read more

I bought a used 2016 MKX Lincoln in 2019 at Western Slope Auto. The car was beautiful with right at 20,000 miles on it. Over the next 2 years, I took the car back in to be fixed 10 times, 8 times for the backup camera alone. EVERY time I picked it up, there was more wrong with it of a different nature. They washed it every time they worked on it, which was nice, but they flooded the inside of the car....twice! Picked it up one time and could hardly keep it on the road it shook so bad. Take it back to them and I am told that one of the tires had separated and it was bad out of line. Except it didn't even have a shimmy at any point before then! And EVERYTIME we got it, all of the memory seat codes were wiped out and the mirrors were pushed out as far as they would go. I complained to the dealership and heard absolutely NOTHING from anyone! Worst service department I have ever dealt with! Traded it off with 78,000 miles on it. P.S. I figured I would give them a couple of hours to catch up; I called back at 9 am and was told the next appointment was a month away. I bought the car at Western Slope. Buying the car was a good experience. I can't say I would recommend the service. I have had enough issues over the years I do not bring my vehicle in for service. read more

We have had a horrible experience with Western Slope Auto. We purchased a used 2017 Ford Expedition with 30k miles in 2018 and it broke down within the first week of purchasing. It has been in the shop off and on ever since. Most recently, it has been in their shop 3x this last month and every time it's back, the engine light comes on right away. They sold us a total lemon for a high $ and some of the problems aren't even covered with the extended warranty that we purchased on top of the factory warranty. Edited to add: Was hoping they'd look at the SUV sooner rather than the 2+ week appt wait since this is the third time it's been in, but haven't been getting my recent phone calls returned. worst technicians and service writers in the area. I had an issue with my 2021 ford bronco sport not starting, seemed to be a battery issue. Got jump started and was driving to the ford dealer amd when we stopped at a light the stupid vehicle system to supposidly save fuel stopped the engine and it died again. Finally got to the dealership on friday afternoon and explained to them that it was a battery issue. I have 40 years experience in the automotive parts industry so know a lot about batteries and this industry. Dealership on monday said they could not repeat the problem. Well 1 and a half months later it would not start in my garage.so jumped myself turned off the stupid system to save fuel and drove to the dealership.Had a long talk with the 21 year old female service technicial about what i know and how lazy their technicians are that they did not do the required tests to see what the problem was! If they would have done the proper tests they would have fixed the problem then, but no i get more problems again. To make it worse i asked to have the oil changed and the tires rotated, and that did not happen. Will not use their service department again or buy another ford vehicle again!!!!! read more

WOMEN BEWARE I brought my vehicle back three times after my previous review hoping that the bad service, long wait times, and inappropriate interactions were once occurring. This did not prove to be true, in fact, I become more frustrated with each visit. The service representative and service manager felt it easier to ignore me entirely and talk about MY car to my husband. (Ah hem... I know a thing or two about vehicles). We were nearing the end of an 800+ mile drive to Grand Junction when our "check engine" light came on. We called Western Slope Ford to make an appointment and were told the soonest they could get us in was about 2 months out; seeing as we were just visiting for a week, that wasn't going to work. As we drove into town there was Western Slope Ford(!) so we stopped in. Jordan Hume greeted us and said that if we could leave our Transit with them his team would squeeze it in. We dropped it off the next morning and, true to his word, they ran a diagnostic and ordered the needed part that day. Unfortunately I had no choice but to give this place one star, but they didn't have anything lower. Like many other people, my Ford Edge was subject to the Takata air bag recall. It started about two years ago. In March of 2017 , I received another recall notice, advising the front passenger airbag will be replaced free of charge, including parts, (plural) and labor. Fast forward to May of 2018, I received another letter form the Ford Motor Company, apparently the situation was so concerning that they will now pay for a rental vehicle and when the parts become available, your Ford dealer will repair it free of charge. On September 26, 2018 I went to Western Slope Ford, which had my vehicle and met with Taylor and the service manager and they advised me that they will require $760.00 for an RCM module to complete the repair. I reminded them that the recall notice states free of charge, including parts and labor. A case was made by both Taylor and myself to Ford Corporate and they too would not pay for the module. So on September 27th I received another call from Taylor, they wanted the rental car returned immediately and to come pick up my Ford Edge. Before I left I saw the airbag light was on and when I asked if the driver's airbag worked, I was informed NO. So I brought my vehicle in with one dangerous airbag and left with, NONE, ZERO, working airbags. Now being in law enforcement for 26 years and a former Detective, I'm quite capable of writing detailed reports. And I have on this incident, detailing all these facts. I'm keeping one report in the vehicle, one with a family member and one with my attorney. Should anyone be injured or killed in this vehicle as a result of no working airbags they will take appropriate action. I've owned Ford vehicles since I was twenty years old, two Ford Rangers, one Escape, one Sportrack, a Taurus and my last Ford the Edge. I will never buy another Ford product. read more

We bought our Ford Explorer from them in 2008 and had a bad experience. They wanted to play games with us going back and forth with the Sales guy and the Finance Manager. We spent 5 hours at the dealer to get this Explorer. We thought when we were looking to trade in our Explorer that we would go back to them. We let the Salesman know what our last experience was and that we wouldn't do that again. They proceeded to low-ball us and go through the same stuff. We ended up trading our Explorer in to another dealer for $2,500 more than what Western Slope Ford was willing to give us. On top of that they weren't going to take anything off from the used car we were looking at saying "we don't have enough margin to give you anything off". We will NEVER do business with Western Slope Ford again. Buyers beware of their sales tactics. read more

I am from Florida visiting the Grand Junction Colorado area for about 5 days. Since this is a Toyota Dealership, I was hoping to be able to have my Tundra serviced here, as I am about 200 miles past the 25,000 mile mark for my last Toyoguard maintenance. I called the dealership at 2:56 PM on July 15, 2016. The service manager (or his representative who answered the phone) was arrogant and blunt, and simply said I don't have any openings available until July 27 (12 days from now). I have never had this problem before taking my 2014 Tundra to an out of state dealership--I think he just didn't want to do the maintenance as it is no charge under the Toyoguard program. They need to improve their customer service manners. I also plan to contact Toyota USA and report this dealership. read more

Yes my issue was taken care off, But when I set appt., it was to be only for an hour and I was in at 9:215 am and was not out till 2:30 or so, had to ask for an update and still took another half hour before I was given the update.. I also would like to have at least a tv in the waiting room, if we have to sit their for 6 hour.. Another then that I hope my issue is resolved the engine light has not yet gone back on ! Brittany and the mechanics at the western slope ford service center saved my very beloved van. This van is a huge part of my life and after paying many shops to find and fix the major issue that was making it essentially undriveable (for 4 months!), the issue was still not resolved. Finally I found Western Slope and Brittany who not only truly listened to me and validated all of my concerns, but was also willing to take a stab at it in a very timely manner. She was willing to troubleshoot with me and try things out of curiosity based on a whole lotta knowledge. They finally got to the bottom of the multiple issues and my van is finally (after 4 long months!) running and reliable again! I owe Brittany and the mechanics here a huge thank you. They are professional wizards and fair with pricing - I was very pleasantly surprised being it a dealership service center. The people who listened to me and fixed my giant van all deserve a raise. Just returned from Western Slope Toyota where I had scheduled my Tacoma for an oil change, only. Service adviser asked me about my needs. Told him only an LOF. He then still asked; "want your tires rotated"? I told him no, just had Discount Tire balance and rotate the tires two days ago. When I received my truck after the oil change: They had changed the tire pressure in the tires. NO reason to meddle with tire pressure. 42psi front, 40psi rear COLD is optimal and where I get even tread wear. As I reached into my glovebox for my tire gauge, I see someone had gone through my glove box and just randomly threw items back in the glovebox...a tech had been in there to access my cabin air filter. I am meticulous. ALL of my filters are checked by me, at change of filters, date and mileage is written on them with a Sharpie! There was NO reason to check my cabin air filter! This goes beyond "upselling". People are not respectful of others property, do not listen when told no attention is needed in a specific area (tires) and they still ignore customer's statements. Additionally, there were greasy hand/finger prints on the surface of my hood and grille frame. Apparently done by the same Tech who just threw my belongings back into the glovebox! Western Slope Toyota should be better than this. read more

Okay - so my previous review is 100% on point - Lance is the man. The service department on the other hand has some serious issues. It got diagnosed via Ford engineering. So far so good. That is where the goodness stops. As you can see from the linked story it was nearly a month to "overnight" a part. Call backs were infrequent, and in general it was frustrating. After the part was replaced I called to talk with the service department manager to let them know that I was not 100% on how the service went, and the time that it took to "overnight" a part - not to mention that they ordered the wrong part and all the other perturbations here. I left a polite message saying that I would like to speak with them about my recent service. That was on July 18, I have not been called back. I don't like leaving 1 star reviews when I have a problem, I prefer talking with the company - I ran a customer service business for nearly 20 years, I get it, not everything goes well, it's life. Feedback is important, both negative and positive, but if you brush off your customers like this, they will not stay your customers. To top it off appointment times for an oil change are over a week out - Rifle was same day with availability for the whole week. I don't get it. read more
