My wife and I were recently in Grand Junction passing through on a camping trip in our 2012 Sprinter, and got a check engine light. I searched locally for a Sprinter mechanic, which yeilded MacDaddy Motorworx in top results- So i called, and the owner (Craig) fit in a diagnosis quickly- He was very kind and gracious to help. We were on our way after a minor issue was found with a glow plow plug module. When my Sprinter mysteriously broke down while driving back from Indian Creek, we felt like we were doomed: no one in Moab would even go near it, so we had to get a tow into Grand Junction to MacDaddy Motor Worx, who very graciously squeezed us in during their really hectic schedule. Upon arrival, we were greeted by excellent customer service from Jake, and an auto shop full of mechanics who truly enjoy working on Sprinters. We knew it would be expensive, and take some time. Jake was so kind and drove us out to a local coffee shop, then later we got a call from a local hotel who had been contacted by MacDaddy to help us find somewhere nice to stay while we were stuck in town. I was blown away by their kindness and hospitality. Did I end up dropping nearly $1000 on my van? Yes. But did I also end up driving back to Grand Junction from Denver to get my 10k oil change/service at this auto shop because I loved them so much? Yes. And did they give me a great discount on the servicing? Yes. Did the owner of the shop spend some time chatting us up and offering true advice on what we needed to do to the van to keep it running? I came in for brakes, not even knowing they could fix my headlight and give my car an oil change! My car didnt even need new brakes, and they told me as much, when they could've charged me anyway and I wouldnt have known otherwise...just like another reviewer's experience. Honest car shop...thats usually an oxymoron, but not here! My experience was awesome and everyone was very friendly. They also offer shuttle service if you need to get to work. Amazing business! This place is the most caring and professional auto shop I have ever been to. After my car broke down on the side of the highway, MacDaddy Motorworx quickly picked me up and gave me a tow back to their shop. The employees here, specifically Toby and Jesse, kept me in the loop through every step of the way, gave me straight answers to my questions, and even though my car was beyond repair, these guys helped me as much as they could, drove me to a hotel, gave me a ride to the bus station, and let me keep my broken car at their shop for the weekend while I figured out what to do. DO NOT Take your car here to get serviced!!! I am new to the area, and read the reviews on here saying they were great, honest, helpful, etc!!! They were very nice when I dropped my car off, gave me a shuttle to work, and were VERY friendly!!! However----when I went to pick up my car for a simple oil change the cost was $62!!!!! I have lived in Southern California prior to living here and even the high end shops never charged me more than $45. I hope they do go work on vehicles...but geez!!!! This price is DOUBLE what it should be!!!! I will not be going back!!! read more

Took my old BMW in because it would not start, no ignition spark. The shop changed the coil and recommended $1,100 plus to include crank and cam sensors, cap, rotor and nearly everything else on the car. When I told them I needed to pull the car they were nice enough to take their coil back and only charged me the tow bill and another $75 to $100 so I could then tow my car home on my own. Happy to say now that I took the car to a real German car repair shop it only had a loose connection at the ignition wire harness connector and it runs fine no parts needed! read more

Paul's been a mechanic for over 25 years, and Craig has famously been pulling apart and fixing engines since he was 5. While Mac Daddy specializes in "European & High-End Luxury Auto Repair", they'll cheerfully fix anything from a dune buggy to my little Honda. A++ for honesty--they ran initial diagnostics and found a probable cause. Further diagnostics required a specialized piece of equipment that only Mercedes has. They could have shotgunned the repair replacing multiple $1000+ parts until one of them worked. Instead, they recommended a Mercedes dealership that could run the required diagnostic. My experience was the opposite of these reviews. My van was there for two months with 2.5 hours of labor. I received at most one call from MacDaddy after I left my van. They did not call me to order parts, they didn't order the parts after I would call them. I had to bring in parts needed each time. This happened many times because they did not properly identify the parts I brought these indiscretions up to the owner and he said "transitional times are tough". He knows I own many other vehicles they service, I guess he gets enough business that he doesn't need any more. Would have given 2 stars if my van's battery wasn't dead upon pickup, which says a bit more. read more

I had a check engine light on when I went through the mountains, so I stopped at this repair facility to see if they could help me make sure it was safe to travel home to CA through the desert, and fix whatever was wrong if need be. They were so kind and checked the trouble codes, printed out a list of what came up, ran a test to make sure I'd be safe traveling, and sent me on my way free of charge! They explained what was going on in a way I could understand and told me to give the printout to my repair person once I got home so he could see what was going on. They cleared the check engine light so if it came on again I could stop knowing it was happening again. I had run over the yellow lines in front of their shop which had just been painted and they even cleaned my car off for me. I would absolutely recommend Mac Daddy Motorworx LLC to anyone.
