Everyone who works there is professional with safety as the literal top priority. I taught my kids to shoot there. In past ~5 years or so, builders have built homes about a mile away. Northwest ISD has built a school. Country acreage and fields still surround on all sides. Two bullets were found at the new school, and the assumption is that it was bullets from the public range which has tall berms and does not directly have line of aim to the school. This range's presence is not a safety issue. For folks are concerned about this, consider having NISD foot the bill to build bigger berms or indoor shooting range for Quail Creek. Why not? NISD is already spending our tax money like water.

Dually noted, at times they have to deal with people whom cant follow rules put in place for safety reasons. For this reason some arent utterly laid back: understandable right! Ive always found that the target backboards to be in good shape. The benches at 25 and 50 are good and sturdy. The 100 yard benches in my opinion wobble a bit, but are acceptable unless your neighbor is shooting a magnum caliber. I do wish they had a 200 yard range. I have found myself driving to decatur to shoot beyond 100. When its cold out they typically have a burn barrel with a fire going. *There are numerous Donald Trump signs on property, snowflakes beware. Get some wobble out of 100 yard benches, add a 200 yard lane, and my rating goes to 5 stars.

I'm retired military and have shot in thousands of ranges, and this one still stood out. Well-designed, well-maintained, and clearly run by people who take pride in the space. The range price was great and reasonable. The store side is stocked with every accessory you could want--or didn't know you wanted--for your weapons. The sales floor was full of merchandise, employees were readily available for assistance, and the check-out process was smooth sailing. I did need to ask an employee where to find athletic wear as I needed shorts for the gym. Not only did they answer my question, they walked me over to the appropriate area of the store. Most places nowdays simply point to where merchandise is located. Not Cabela's! What a great way to go above and beyond in customer service. He informed me of their membership options without being pushy. They even let you shoot forced reset trigger/bump stock and shotguns in their indoor facility which I perceive to be a bit rare these days. I didn't have the full auto weapons but nice to know they allow it. I did enjoy my experience. Prices are probably in line with the market. Gun range shooting is never going to be the cheapest outing, but in the opinion of me and other citizens, it's a necessity to be able to practice our constitutional rights to shoot a gun. It had been probably a year or two since the last time I went shooting, but Eagle will be our place going forward. I recommend it highly.

I was very disappointed with my recent experience at Shoot Smart West Freeway…read more Since the range was remodeled, they have removed the flat shooting bench or countertop that used to be in each lane. That surface gave you a safe, convenient place to lay your firearm between loads while keeping it pointed downrange. The only surface available to us was a small Rubbermaid-style cart about three and a half feet tall. This made working with and sighting in long guns extremely awkward and nearly impossible. The range was also uncomfortably hot. An employee explained that the air conditioning was running on high, but the exhaust system that removes gun smoke and fumes also pulls the cooled air out almost as quickly as it enters. I understand the importance of proper ventilation, but the temperature made shooting very uncomfortable. The retail inventory was also ridiculously understocked. I was looking for tinted shooting glasses, magazines for several firearms, speed loaders, and a barrel-cooling fan so I could safely cool my rifle before returning it to its case. They had none of these items. When I asked about the lack of merchandise, an employee told me their inventory manager was not doing a very good job. On the positive side, all the employees were friendly and courteous. The gunsmith was especially helpful and was able to sight in the rifle I had been struggling with very quickly. Unfortunately, friendly employees and a capable gunsmith were not enough to overcome the poor range setup, excessive heat, and severely limited inventory. I will be trying a different shooting range the next time I go shooting.
