Pods Swimming was a nightmare for us. Enrollment was disorganized, and my daughter was placed in…read morethe wrong class. The teacher would not let her out of the pool to use the bathroom, even while she was crying and asking repeatedly. She was forced to do skills she wasn't comfortable with, ignored despite another teacher trying to intervene, and left screaming and visibly distressed. This all happened because Pods enrolled her incorrectly. I did not ask for a refund--only that the remaining classes be saved as a credit. Instead, the director ignored my actual request, copied and pasted the no-refund policy, and advised me that they reserve the right to change teachers at any time--which was not what I was disputing. The issue was their administrative error and how it was handled. She ultimately stopped responding altogether. They kept our $90 and showed zero accountability or concern for a young child's well-being. I absolutely do not recommend Pods Swimming.

Who'd have thought you could have a great day of sun and fun by the water in little old Stoughton?…read moreCertainly not me. But one day, I casually stumbled upon the local beach as I was driving down the road and vowed to one day check it out. Yesterday, I finally followed through on that promise to myself and visited Ames Long Pond for the first time. Having no idea what to expect for a beach on a pond in the middle of suburbia, I didn't set my expectations very high... but I was pretty happy with the experience overall. This place is small. Don't expect to be visiting a beach on Cape Cod. But for what it is, it's surprisingly nice. Staffed with lifeguards during the summer from 10am to 5pm, there's a really beautiful lake with a dock for kids to hang out on/jump off of and a nice little beach to lay out on. There are even bathrooms, which I absolutely didn't expect at such a small local place. The water was nice and clear and clean, with lots of aquatic life to watch if you're not much of a swimmer and just enjoy standing in the water to cool off, like me. Our neighbors over at the next umbrella even managed to find (and capture) a crawfish! The beach was also clean and there were plenty of trash cans so you could help keep it that way. At $3 for a day pass and $12 for the season (for Stoughton residents), this place is really a hidden gem that will improve my summer tremendously. The best part... no beach traffic!!
