For a small cavity, she used a new sandblasting technique (at least new to me) where numbing is not required, the cavity is sandblasted, sealed and it only took about 5 minutes ~ amazing. We (stupidly) decided on Aspen Dental for her routine cleaning/ checkup. She had always had perfect teeth, but one tooth was feeling a little sensitive and was being monitored by her dentist in Florida for a few years. We were shocked when Aspen Dental told her she had 8 teeth with surface decay and beginning stages of gingivitis! She would need special cleanings and would need 8 fillings!!! We had no reason to question them. It was a summer of pain and misery for her. The first dentist was young. He messed up every single filling! They all had to be redone by a more experienced dentist. The staff was incredibly unprofessional, gossiping about each other while working on her, and continually downplaying her pain. One tooth with "surface decay" ended up, with the pathetic excuse for a dentist, hollowing out that tooth, and leaving it that way. We had to go back, multiple times, and have a more experienced dentist redo all of her fillings- )She used to like going to the dentist until her traumatic experiences in the Aspen Dental West Knoxville location. Today, she finally worked up the courage to see a dentist in Cleveland Ohio. Her fillings on the two teeth have never been right. When she would floss, the floss would break, because the fillings were so rough between those two teeth. Her new hygienist, in Cleveland Ohio, was surprised at the poor work on the fillings. Now, she needs a root canal on the teeth that, supposedly, had "surface decay." I'm about to say something that sounds crazy. Prior to this, she never had a single cavity. When she went to Aspen Dental, she only had one tooth that had discomfort, and may have had a cavity. We were shocked when Aspen dental told us she had 8 cavities. We, now, strongly suspect they lied. We believe they drilled into healthy teeth for money. We believe Aspen Dental lied about the amount of work she needed done and drilled healthy teeth. Something is very wrong about them. We are so upset and angry. This has caused daily misery for my daughter. She walked in with one sensitive tooth, and now her teeth are permanently impacted. I googled nearby clinics and found Beaver Creek Dental Care. From the moment I called, they were incredibly compassionate. The receptionist was so kind and got me in immediately, even helping me through the paperwork. Since I didn't have my insurance, I was told I'd have to pay out of pocket, but at that point all I wanted was relief. Tevia, the dental assistant, was amazing. For the first time in my dental experience, someone applied numbing gel before even taking the X-ray. She was attentive, sweet, and worked quickly while listening to my concerns. Then I met Dr. Reagan McNerney. She was an absolute blessing. After hearing my situation, she gave me two options: prescribe medication and discount the X-ray so I could wait until I got back to my dentist in Florida, or reattach the cap right away. I chose to have her put the cap back on, and before proceeding, she personally checked in with the front desk to make sure the cost would be reasonable for me. To my surprise, Dr. McNerney went above and beyond--she lowered the cost significantly to help me out, understanding I was just visiting and would continue treatment back home. Within minutes, the procedure was done seamlessly. She even had my prescription ready so I could pick it up right after. Dr. McNerney's kindness and generosity truly restored my faith in humanity. She didn't take advantage of my situation; instead, she cared for me like I was a longtime patient. I left feeling respected, valued, and deeply grateful. Thank you, Dr. McNerney, Tevia, and the Beaver Creek Dental Care team, for turning such a painful experience into one of compassion and genuine care. I cannot recommend this clinic enough.
