What cemented my love for this place, was when I brought in a cat with an ulcer on his lip. We tried a few things and nothing worked but he didn't seem to be in pain and he was still eating and drinking just fine so we left it alone. Fast forward 6 months and I get a phone call from the vet asking if he still had the ulcer. The vet had read an article and wanted me to bring Buzz in to try something. It was cleared up in a week! He remembered my cat from bringing him in 6 months before. That's awesome. They are not the least expensive vets office, but I will pay for the kindness and expertise as well as the loving care my pets (cats and a German Shepherd) receive.

They called her vet who stopped doing house visits for covid. We called my vet who was really booked out and we couldn't let Chelsea suffer. I turned to yelp to help us. I can't speak highly enough of this place. Not only did they move things around once they heard her condition to fit her in, but they worked with our flight schedules so we could all be here today. It was a completely unrushed, empathetic, comforting, and kind experience. They let all 4 of us in a private basement grieving room. We were given as much time as we needed before and after her passing. It was a very peaceful experience. She was in no pain, she didn't even flinch for her iv. Thank you for treating us like family.

Amazing service during COVID. Took my dog in for a check up…read moreat 9am because he developed a limp., the vet took blood samples straight away on a hunch it could be Lyme. He was diagnosed with Lyme disease, they called in a prescription straight away and within hours, followed up with me to say the disease had not spread after the samples had being tested further. They staff was wonderful and attentive. It turned out that my little old man had congestive heart failure, so the doctor gave me so medicine to relieve the congestion but was clear that he needed much more extensive testing to figure out what meds to put him on and that it wasn't a good situation. We went home early from our vacation in order to get him to our vet the next morning, and my baby made it through the seven hour road trip. And we even got a very lovely call from the vet's office asking how he was doing. Within a half hour of being home, he passed over. He was so ready, but I sure wasn't. I am so happy with the service Dunkirk provided, as everyone from the doctor to Miranda to Michele was so kind, and the price was very reasonable. I will for sure take my animals there in the future when I am in town. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful veterinary office. I took my Shih Tzu dog…read morethere because he had a small cyst on his head. I had previously taken him to another vet who told me the only way to remove it was to put the dog under general anesthesia and do surgery at a cost of $400. The veterinarian here, Dr. Ventrello, was able to drain the cyst with a needle, along with plucking his ears and trimming his nails for a total cost of $56. I was very impressed as well with the way the doctor and the technician (whose name I cannot remember unfortunately) handled my dog from beginning to end. He is not the easiest pup to handle and is very wary of new people. Both of them were very loving and professional and as a result my dog was not subjected to any additional stress. While it is not guaranteed that the cyst will not come back because it was not completely removed by surgery I am very happy with the service I received and so far he is doing great! Also, the place was spotless!

There was no rush, no pushing in a certain direction....just presented with the facts and then left it up to me to decide. Even afterward, no attempt to get out right away...given the opportunity to take as much as needed. This vet failed to recognize the severity of my…read morefamily's dogs ear infection & prescribed him ear drops that ended up in a trip to the emergency vet. The drops they prescribed did not fight the infection & ended up damaging his ear behind the infection & created nerve damage in his eye. He is currently unable to see out of his one eye. The emergency vet that we took him to (because this vet told us they "can't see him until 1:45 pm" when we called at 7 am to report the issues post giving the drops they prescribed) told us this could progress into his brain. They offered no help, and no accountability. He is four years old & now may have long term damage to his eye and ear. They didn't even offer to refund the ear drops, which is the least of our worries, but would have gone a long way. We also had our dogs here for routine shots not that long ago & our other dog ended up having seizures post vaccines!! We have NEVER had issues before this vet with any problems like these. I don't know what they're doing with their medications or procedures but something's not right.

This is ridiculous how I see animals in the shelter with no cover over the heads left in the rain…read morewhen we showed up- I bought a cat that I was told was 4 years old and spayed yet 1 week in she came down with URI and vet stated I was given the wrong meds and he was surprised- ontop of this needing a shot that will now cost over $100 and mind you shes only been at our house 2 weeks- howling and acting like shes in heat- we get no sleep as this cat does not act or look 4 years old and all symptoms of in heat yet going to vet again today over the issue ! AND ANNA SHELTER NEVER ANSWERS THAT DAMN PHONE!!!! Extremely POOR customer service and I will never go back there.

On the day of…read morethe appointment, I received a call saying they had cancellations and could see us earlier at 11:10 AM. I rearranged my schedule and agreed to come in sooner. I arrived at 11:00 AM, checked in, and noticed three other clients in the waiting room. After waiting for quite a while, I asked for an update and was told they had gotten busy and that I would need to continue waiting. There was no estimate given and no proactive communication about the delay. After an hour without being seen, I decided to leave. Before walking out, I asked if I could have my original 4:00 PM appointment back and requested that they not call to move my appointments earlier in the future. I was then told the next available appointment would be at the end of March. After rearranging my day at their request and then waiting over an hour with no meaningful communication, being told I couldn't even keep my original time was extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, I will be taking my pets elsewhere.
