Very fun, inexpensive way to go see a movie. A little dirty but nice and good workers.

I'm going to give it 4 stars just because it's such a great deal. For two bucks I don't expect stadium seating and lots of employees serving you as mentioned in other reviews. I did skim the other reviews before writing my own, just out of curiosity, and it looks like not much has changed. A review I read that was written in 2011 pretty much summed up what I experienced last night. Last night was the first time I've been here. What with traveling and all, I had never seen the latest POTC movie and was tickled to find out they were playing it. I don't need to see movies as soon as they come out. Nobody would be impressed if I did. LOL. Nobody cares what movies I watch. So this is a great theater to come to for cheap to see a movie that's been out for a while. Also, if you like a movie well enough to see it twice, here you can afford it. The picture was great. The sound was great. The seat wasn't that comfortable but I'm old so most seats aren't. I was kind of surprised the popcorn prices were so high. There's a cheap theater I go to in my daughter's area in Arizona that charges $3 a movie and about five bucks for the biggest tub including a refill. Plus if the concession stand is closed when the movie ends they will let you bring your bag back the next time to get your refill, which is nice. Since I usually go to movies that get out at 10 or so then I almost always get to bring my bag back the next time which means I only buy popcorn every other time. I asked a guy here about that with this one but he said no. I bought the $7.50 size and wasn't able to finish it. The $8.50 size would have filled my bathtub. It would be great if you had people to share it with but I didn't. One thing I will comment on was that the flavor of the popcorn and the buttery topping were both great. There's nothing more disappointing than to get your popcorn, go into the theater, start nibbling on it and find out it has an off flavor or that the butter isn't any good. I've had that happen so I really appreciate a good popcorn. All in all, the movie with a pretty good-sized popcorn was under $10 so I won't complain about that. The location is convenient. My only real complaint is that I didn't allow enough time for their slow slow line. I had just enough time to get my popcorn and head into the theater but I probably spent at least 10 minutes in the line. There was one guy that didn't seem to be doing much. They could have opened a second line but they choose not to do that. I know I wasn't the only person to get into my movie late because the people ahead of me were asking about it too. The girl's response was, oh it's still in the previews. The young man said, But I like watching the previews. I thought to myself, So do I. read more

Okay, so let's be real. This is a place where you watch really old movies at a cheap price. Love this concept, because I'm frugal. . When we got to the front (we purchased tickets online) the person selling tickets didn't really know how to print our tickets. However; the theater that we got in smelled like feet. The chairs were really low, so me, being 5'2 had to sit on a booster seat . The chairs are nothing to write home about but they were adequate There is only 2 people working the counter so it takes forever in the line and of course it costs a lot for theater snacks . But that's totally normal. On Saturdays the movies are even cheaper I believe which is pretty awesome. In the front there is arcade games. All I'm saying is, get some Febreeze up in there lol read more

This place will always smell the same, no matter how many times they close and reopen... a nice mixture of B.O. and popcorn. It's really quite pleasant. I remember being in cheerleading camp as a freshman, (shutup!!) and watching Twister here. It was soooo scary on the big screen!! Maybe because I have been in like 4 tornados though... Oh, and the very first time I snuck into an R movie was here, for Interview with a Vampire! hahaha I still love this theatre though, too bad they were showing such crap there when I was visiting, we were gonna go! read more

Ahhh the $2 movie theatre. I wouldn't recommend taking a date here to watch a movie. It doesn't have the stadium style seating like a regular movie theatre would have and it will make you look cheap taking a date to a $2 show! Oh and back in the day, this place used to be located on 34th and Bell and it only cost a $1. I remember watching Home Alone 2 here! read more

Worst movie theater ever in Amarillo! Their heaters are broken half the time and it's freezing. Half of their seats are broken with trash bags over them or completely missing all together. And it's hardly ever cleaned, it's sticky and it stinks. If that's not bad enough, the service is terrible. The employees are rude and ignore you. It takes forever to get through the snack line because the employees are just all over the place and don't know what to do. I ended up waiting ten minutes after I got snacks just to pay because they were trying to serve everyone else without anyone to check us out. And the seats are not stadium style, so if you're in the back you have to look over everyone else's heads. Over all, a horrible experience and I recommend just renting a movie from the redbox instead of having to endure this movie theater. read more

The movies playing were a bit old but extremely worth the cheap admission. There had been a slight odor in the theatre but i mostly forgotten about it after the movie started playing. read more

Ahhhh the good old $1.50 movies(now aparently$2.00) when i lived in amarillo i worked at dillard's in the mall and took the bus to work. If i was too early for work i could kill a few hours on a crappy movie here and even sneak my lunch in too! Crappy theatre equals no ushers, so appreciate that people! Also i would come here to "not watch the movie" with my bf. Its something nice to do when u dont want to pay ten bucks at the UA across I-40 and u need to get out of your house for a bit. read more

Highlights of the place is cheap Tuesdays. As a family of 5 we are able to see a show with popcorn and a drink for under $30. For a cheap movie theatre you do get what you pay for. The seats at least have fabric and cushions unlike other dollar theaters we have been in. Most places have a smell and this one is no different. The popcorn is good and they have plenty of great ways to spice it up. We also get free refills on popcorn and drinks. Worth it for us. Want a fun and cheap outing this is it. read more

Can't be the price. It's not the cleanest or biggest but the price is right for an slight older movie that isn't quite worth 6 to 10 bucks. The sound quality is fair, its loud but not as crisp and the video is okay. read more

Price is great, but theater in Amarillo is so filthy. The seats are torn, and not a good feeling place to relax and watch a movie. Please upgrade, remodel, etc. Just because the price is cheap, don't live up to it. read more

I will never go to this theater again. After waiting 25 min for the show to start, I had to go out to ask about it and was told "technical difficulties". So we wanted another 20 min thinking we would get an update. No such luck. Had to go out again and this time it was "waiting on call from FBI". Since I was with a six year old, we toughed it out another 15 min when the movie started....and stopped. I had finally had enough despite the tears. When I asked the "manager" he said it was out of his control and what did I expect him to do? I said it would be nice for someone to have kept us informed. His reply was there are only two of us here. It should be running now. I had to ask again what he could do for me and he again said it should be running now (it wasn't). He NEVER offered us a refund or anything related to keeping a paying customer happy. I had to push to get my money back (3d movie so not a dollar bargain plus it's the principle of it). He didn't want to refund and kept repeating there's only two of us. It's out of our control it's the FBI s fault etc. finally got my money back but the money couldn't refund the rude way he treated me and my son. Never again going to place that has no customer service and obviously doesn't keep up with their subscriptions w FBI. He had another of same movie scheduled to start before this one would be over - wonder what he's going to tell those poor people. Probably nothing - since there's only two of them. Better ask if the movie is allowed by FBI before committing if you choose to do business there. Better off renting. read more
