This was for a small project as a test run for a bigger project we are planning on doing. All I can say at this point is there's no way we would work with them again. The total lack of follow up and lack of communication is unacceptable when it comes to consumer affairs. The only reason they get 1 star is for the understanding carpenters that did a nice job.

My house was built in 1912, and when we bought it, it was clear that the exterior side door had…read moreseen heavy use for a long time. In fact, the door was practically falling to pieces, barely opened, didn't have a deadbolt that latched, and was secured by the type of interior flip-over bar that you see in hotel rooms. It certainly wasn't usable! Clearly, this needed to be addressed. We first had a custom wood door made, sized a little bit big to allow for fitting. But of course, it needed to be installed, and the door frame, threshold, etc. were all in rough shape. Now, the husband is a handy guy, but it was pretty obvious that this project was way above his pay grade. I called ten different handyman services and half of them didn't even call me back, but Bill promptly returned my message and made an appointment to come actually look at the job (I didn't trust anyone giving an estimate from a texted photo!). It was clear from that visit that Bill really understood what was involved and was both able and willing to do a quality job, which was very reassuring. He emailed a nicely detailed estimate, and I was able to put a deposit on a credit card online. Bill was also very easy to reach via text message, which was great. It took a month or two to get worked into Bill's schedule (weather didn't help, as this couldn't be done in the rain), but once he got started, he made our job his top priority. All in all, it took something like five days and involved building a new (square) door frame, fitting and hanging the new door, putting in and keying the knob and deadbolt, installing a new threshold, painting the door, frame, and trim, and even filling in the concrete and caulking along the edge of the house to help prevent water from coming in. I can't even begin to describe all the skills it took to make this happen, and the end result is a GORGEOUS, FUNCTIONAL door that I can't wait to actually use. Needless to say, I can't recommend Bill highly enough. If you want something done right and you're willing to pay for quality, give him a call! I've already got another job in mind for Bill, and he will definitely be my go-to handyman in the future. I can't imagine letting anyone else work on my house!

He also hung several sets of curtain rods, two door viewers, and built a replacement step/landing for the door that leads into the house from the garage. The one we had was too small and he replaced it with one he built by hand and it is extremely well-built and looks great! Very high quality work, does what he says he will do, and does it when he says he will do it. Might be a slight bit more expensive than your average handyman, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Shortly after the work was completed, I noticed that the shower was leaking at the connection point to the pipe. I promptly informed him of the issue, expecting it to be addressed as part of the original installation. On January 22nd, he responded that he could come out to take a look, but mentioned a $75 service fee for the visit. Given that the problem appears to be directly related to the initial installation, I found this unexpected. I replied, asking him to let me know when he would be in the area so he could stop by and assess the issue. It has now been nearly two months, and I have not received any follow-up or resolution. Meanwhile, the shower faucet continues to leak. I would have appreciated more accountability and communication to resolve the problem in a timely manner.

I contacted Jorge via Yelp on the 16th of the month. He replied after awhile and said he would be happy to come out. I called him on the 18th. He came late in the day, a bit later than he stated, but did arrive. We talked about the project and I showed him what was needed. He said he would email me a quote. On the 21st I texted him asking about the quote. He said he would send it that night that he "promised". It is now the 26th. No emails or texts or calls. If he doesnt want to do the job, that's more than okay, just tell me. That's honesty I can respect. But when you say you'll so something, and you have to say "I promise" and you don't do that thing? That's an issue to me. I'll be moving on.

Work they did included moving a toilet in the water closet, tearing out the old shower in water closet, removing a too large tub and replacing it with a giant onyx shower, changing the window in shower to glass block, removing popcorn from vaulted ceiling, painting all walls and ceiling, installing heated floor with new tile and completely replacing the vanity and mirrors. Also switched out all hardware down to the doorknobs and installed new outlets and LED mirrors. They stuck to the exact budget proposed and finished a week early. Kept everything completely clean while in the house and always made sure we had access to our walk in closet in the master bath. All work was done with the highest craftsmanship and there was nothing that they needed to come back and fix. Clint was a complete professional throughout the entire process and I can't recommend him and his crew highly enough. We will definitely be using them for future jobs. Thanks KJ!

Visiting my elderly mother I noticed the paint pulling away where the chimney brick met the…read moreinterior walls. With all the rain this season I knew things would continue to worsen and I assumed it was a problem with the flashing. I contacted my insurance agent for a referral and he recommended KC Roofing & Restoration Solutions. This company was more than accommodating and promptly visited Mom's home to review the situation. The hard truth was that the company that had put the existing roof in place had used the incorrect flashing and it had pulled away. The flashing was not meant to be used on masonry. Charles was great to work with and explained what needed to be done with a quick turnaround on the estimate. He answered all my questions and now that the work is completed I am more than happy. During the process today, Charles provided me with photos of the different stages of the work - even found a good match for the existing roofing shingles and used waterproof membrane (like an honest roofer should!) before replacing the shingles and finishing with lead flashing (which is what should have been used previously). Oh, and I also had them replace the chimney "cap" as it was also contributing to the leaking issues. Highly recommend - did not want to have a mold remediation sometime down the road! After reiterating to him that I wanted this project completed quickly after the foundation project, he reassured me that he had plenty of men for the job and they could get it done immediately after my foundation repair. When I called him to talk about coming out for a second time, he immediately said he was not available until the following week. I told him that he had promised to be not only come out and quote me, but to complete the job in the same week. I should have went with my gut on this one, but I stupidly put my faith in his promise. Never again! Do not recommend at all! Beware of his false promises!
