Came here for the first time the other day looking for hanging hooks for 3-D wall art. specifically sawtooth hangers. The cashier was extremely knowledgeable and directed me to the correct aisle where I found exactly what I was looking for, reasonably priced. The location was open until 6pm, the store was organized and fully stocked. I was able to grab what I needed and head home to begin my projects with ease. New name same service after 9 years. Grand Opening today was great. I ate hamburgers, hotdogs, sausages and pretzels for a snack... more like lunch. The workers didn't try to stop me. I went in trying to find CO2 cartilages for a plunger that my house had in the closet. While workers found my picture interesting... they didn't have any. I continued and ended up grabbing free seasoning, seeds and a free tote bag. Lunch and to some freebies made the visit worthwhile. The staff answered my questions, yet did not pressure me. Westlake Ace Hardware - Changed name - Hardware Stores Near Me - Maryland Heights, Missouri

I bought this stihl chain saw just over a year ago. Initially it worked great, but after sitting for a few weeks, it would not start. I took it back to Ace hardware twice, and they would do something to it and get it started. The guy told me that despite purchasing the very expensive stihl motor mix, that I had to empty the tank every time and put new fuel in it. That is absurd and an environmental travesty! Tonight, after spending almost an hour trying to start it, and emptying the tank and putting new moto mix in it, took it back and asked for a refund based on the warranty I bought into. They said they only honor that for 30 days and that I would have to contact Stihl. I have, but have low expectations. Thankfully, I have a 1960 John Deere chain saw that hasn't been serviced in over 30 years, but still starts and runs. But it is very heavy and only 12". Also, I have a huge Oak to cut up! Almost $500 invested and I am still using a 1960 John Deere chain saw. I have always loved Ace but this is something I will not get over soon. read more

What's going on with your store in Maryland Heights. I remember a time,not too long ago, that I could walk into Brandt and Sons Ace hardware store and know that an experienced sales person would greet me and be able to answer any questions that I might have. People like me who are hardware challenged depend on neighborhood stores like Ace to give me that personalized service that I can't get at a Lowe's or Home Depot. Unprofessional and untrained staff! Wouldn't recommend coming here...I came in this store to get a key fob programmed. I was originally told they had it in stock , so I drove here and then they told me I had to order it. Then the 2nd time I came back here, the manager told me he could not help because he was the only one back there and didn't want to make time. The 3rd time I come here, they have 2 guys that don't know how to operate the machine to cut the new key, so they send me away. Then the manager comes to the counter and figures it out. The other guy tries to program the key fob to my car and messes up and then says he can't try more than 2 times. Now I am going somewhere else . Wasted 3 hours over nonsense. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. I absolutely love going to the store most of the time I can find anything that I want. The prices are very reasonable and they always have great deals going on. Tried twice to have a key made here and on both occasions key wouldn't work. Home Depot got it right on the first try. Wouldn't count on this store if keys are needed and getting it right the first time is important to you. read more

This place is definitely a throwback. Older, cluttered, more expensive than Home Depot - but when you need to ask a question, you can be sure the employee will know their stuff. Not only will they walk you to the product you're asking about but they'll make sure you know your options and get all the supplies you need in one trip. Love it! read more

They aren't without some knowledge, but overall, very rude and dismissive. I went yesterday to find some hardware, and at least a woman employee tried to help me, although she had no knowledge of the hardware section, apparently. But then another employee asked if I needed help, and I have to assume that he was pretty unhappy when I said "yes". I told him that I found part of what I was looking for, but the mating pieces that I found didn't seem to fit. He told me " we tell our supplier to give us the best stuff for the job. If you don't see it then we don't have it. Try Brannicky Hardware (a competitor)". Wow! read more

They have never gotten a key cut wrong! There is no better place in town to get keys cut, even keys with computer chips. Knowledgeable staff who are helpful. A lot packed in this little store. read more

called ahead to see if they cut car keys and was told they could. drove 20 miles one way to find out they could cut the keys but would not because the manager Joe had went home early and he was the only one who knew how to operate the key machine. the employees were very unprofessional and extremely rude. so i made a 40 mile round trip for nothing. i would advise anybody who wants to go to a ace hardware to avoid this store and find another one. read more

went to ACE on Dorsett Rd. to get an LP bottle exchanged and went inside and was told that they had a water pipe break and you could not get around to the rear of the store. I asked if someone could walk the LP bottle to where the work was not being done and I would meet them with the empty bottle. I was told they could not do this. I asked If I could take my empty through the store to the rear and carry the full bottle back to the parking lot. I was once again told they could not allow this.
