I was inquiring about a insufficiant funds fee of $25.00, when I had a confirmation from my phone App that the payment was submitted. The next buisness day the Westlake Financial App. did not have those funds listed as pending . There was no record of my confirmation either, so I panicked and made another payment thinking the other did not go through. Thus I was charged an insufficient funds fee for one of the payments. The assistant who handled my call answered many of my questions with ease. He also assured me he would check to see if the insuffitiant funds fee could be taken off of my account. I had a very frustrating experience with Westlake Financial's customer service. I called several times requesting to speak with a supervisor regarding a fee that I believe should be waived. Each time, the representatives refused to transfer me to a supervisor. Yesterday I spoke with Natalie, who said she couldn't get a supervisor on the line. Previously, I spoke with Joseph, who also refused to transfer me and assured me that someone would call me back by the time requested. Unfortunately, no one ever followed up. This lack of support and communication is extremely disappointing. I feel that my concerns were not taken seriously, and the overall customer service was very unprofessional. I purchased the car while I was in the middle of a bankruptcy, which the dealership was fully aware of at the time and still approved the sale. Somehow, this contract was later added to my bankruptcy without my consent. As a result, I no longer have a valid contract. I'm now being told that if I continue making payments, they won't repossess the vehicle--but those payments are not being credited to me. They refuse to issue a new contract, and I receive a different explanation every time I ask. Even my attorney is unclear how the account was added to the bankruptcy, as it was never intended to be included. The lack of transparency, inconsistent information, and inability to resolve the issue have been extremely frustrating. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution. read more

I had a vehicle totaled, I paid for Gap Insurance, I kept paying my note so my credit would not get dinged, the Gap insurance never paid one cent and kept telling me they never received the loan payoff from my primary insurance company which is false because on my account it says paid in full. If I owed more money to Scam lake I mean Westlake the awful bill collector agents that work for them would be ringing my phone relentlessly. Absolutely horrible company. Not only will you get an extremely high interest rate, but they harass you with phone calls. Most companies give you a 10 day grace period from your due date to pay your payment. They start calling at 8am the following day and up to 5 times every day until it's paid. They have my due date set for the same week as my rent and we can't pay both at the same time. We also got behind on 2 payments due to unforeseen circumstances and they repossessed my vehicle at 47 days (most lenders are 60 days) past due! Kicker is we were actually going to the bank that morning to pay it. They decided this on a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend and even though we immediately paid the balance, we were told we had to wait til TUESDAY to get our vehicle back! How can they TAKE your car any day and time but refuse to give it back until business days?! Not only did they charge over $500 in repossession fees, we also had to Uber back and forth to work for several days costing an additional $300. As SOON as I can refinance, I will and won't be recommending this scandalous company to anyone. I can't wait until I get a flyer saying they are being sued for unlawful actions. read more

Have had probably 20 loans in my lifetime and this company, by far, is the worst loan company I have tried to work with. I would send my payment through my bank and timed it so they would receive it 5 days before it was due. EVERY TIME, I would get late notices on the due date. I tried to call them but could only get an AI assistant. First time this happened I made a Credit Card payment then they would realized they had 2 payments....I tried to get that put towards principal, they didn't, they used it as the next payment. I found that if you ignore their constant texts and AI phone calls they eventually get the payment and leave you alone till the next month. When I got a human they were unhelpful and both times was told someone would call me back and of course no one ever did! They last time I called I explained I was having triple bypass surgery and wanted to see if I could differ 2 months of payments,or make 2 months of interest only payments while I rehabilitate, the person on the phone said we dont do that,just let the payment lapse and maybe then something can be done,the representative was not well spoken and I could barely understand him. I am planning to upgrade this vehicle in a year or two so I make sure my payment is always made on or before my due date. Withholding lien release after full payment--terrible customer service. I have had nothing but issues with Westlake Financial, but my experience after paying off my loan has been the worst. My vehicle loan was fully satisfied and the bank was made whole on March 16th. Despite this, they are refusing to provide a digital lien release and claim they won't even mail the physical copy until March 27th. Because of their arbitrary 10-day delay and refusal to email a simple document, I am now at risk of losing a private sale. When I tried to resolve this and questioned their practices, the supervisor I spoke with was rude and eventually hung up on me. They are quick to take your money but will bully you and stall as soon as it's time to provide the title or release you are legally entitled to. Avoid this organization if you have any other options. Why have they not updated anything digitally for consumers or clients to have a solid line of communication?
