Everyone is so attentive and caring. We are always greeted by name when we stop in and always told to have a good day when we leave. Everything in the center is clean and organized. I love that the center has an indoor gym so the kids can get out their energy, especially during the winter months. Overall I would highly recommend KinderCare Johnston to anyone looking for childcare.

I got along with everyone mostly well sometimes I got picked on for being a high functioning autistic and I still sometimes wonder what they think now but for the most part DMC was a great high school experience for me and I miss my friends.

When I started looking for daycare options for my…read moregirl (still during the pandemic, and things have been a bit chaotic in Iowa) I was hoping for 3 things: a place that took COVID seriously, a loving culture, and a small class in the beginning to help my girl adapt and make friends. Primrose has been wonderful in more ways than I expected! -The school is new, spacious and beautiful! -The owners are lovely! They give the school a nice feel of a family environment. -The food they serve is healthy and made on site. -Because the school opened recently, the class was small and my girl just loved it from the start, and now she is loving that the class is growing snd she is slowly meeting more children. -The curriculum is great! My girl is learning all about natural resources and other things that are interesting and useful. -When it comes to COVID, they went above and beyond to keep everyone safe (and did more than the bear minimum recommended by the state). They installed air filters that are above the CDC guidelines. Additionally, they are very open and transparent about teachers vaccinations, and really foster a safe environment. I asked other daycares I called if the teachers were planning to get vaccinated - some places just answered: we can't make them, so we don't even ask! Which I know, but that's not enough for me! They are amazing with children, teach them in a way that they are, not only prepared for kindergarten, but still hold onto that creativity that a lot of other programs are unable to hold onto with children. They are very family oriented and have a long history of putting the needs of the child first, even if the parents aren't ready to hear it. I am one of those parents. We knew our son was different, but the teachers helped us figure out that he had sever ADHD and is on the autism spectrum. They did this with love and respect, walking the boundaries of being respectful of parent wishes and pushing for what was best for our child. The center not only has made an impact with me, I have worked in the field almost 30 years and 10 of those are here at CCYC, but also with my family as my oldest son put his daughter on our waitlist the moment they found out they were pregnant. Not only do I recommend CCYC to other child care professionals looking for somewhere to make a career at, but for any family that is looking for a center that is here for their children's growth and development into young caring learners.
