    Beautiful spring trees!
    Sarah C.

This large park has a river running through it, small bridges crossing over, tons of native plants, duck and geese a-plenty, a nature play playground where kids can get their hands dirty and adventure safely, handball and tennis courts, sports fields for baseball and soccer, decently clean restrooms, and parking amongst the neighborhood streets. A lovely place for a stroll on a spring morning and to hang out on a summer afternoon.

I was trying to find a place for the kids to burn off some energy and we drove by this park. There are some summer activities that are not operating now that it's winter but the Natural Playground was great! The kids climbed up and down the log structures and pretended like the bark was hot lava that they couldn't touch. It was enough to keep them busy for a while ... until I was too cold to stay out any longer. If I'm in the area I'd stop by again ... so many great parks in Portland.

Westmoreland Park has plenty to explore for all ages. There is a large sand pit with two running water features. This area will bring hours of entertainment for children up to about eight or nine years old. You might find some sand toys laying around, but it would be best to bring some of your own. There is a large wood chip area with a bunch of different climbing structures probably most suitable for children four and up. There are plenty of large green grass Areas to play in but be careful for all of the geese poop! All in all, our three-year-old absolutely love this park.

Wow, how have I not been here before now. I take McLoughlin a lot to the city from Gladstone, so I try by this park a lot but never stopped. I didn't realize that there is a path and bridges, and it's actually a fairly sizeable park. We wanted to go here at night to capture Fall trees at night with our new iPhone 12 Pro phones. We had a great time and can't believe we hadn't been here before. We usually only see it from the main road so it was nice to see it in

Although this a great nature park for kids, please be warned that the pictures online are better than the park itself. It seems from reviews that a lot of amenities are only available in summer. That might be the reason why I felt a little cheated because we went in February. But it was still a very fun park. Natural climbing structures and slides (may not be too suitable for toddlers though). A big sand pit. A shady area near the playground with gigantic trees. a nice little pond with ducks wading around. I could see restrooms nearby too. There is plenty of street parking in the residential area next to the park.

Really neat park to walk and take your younger kids to because the play area is great: slides, sand, natural and plastic play areas. The creek that runs through the park with the large green areas is cool too. I would live to see the large man-made pond filled up again. My mom said when she was girl back in the 50's people sailed small boats here.

Can you walk on these trees without falling off?

Beautiful park with a nature playground for kids to climb and run off their energy. My kids loved climbing the rock and trees. There is a small sand area also. The small creek that runs by is perfect for small kids to walk along and explore along the trail. Some tables available for a picnic. Definitely a fun place for kids.

This is an awesome place to bring your kids. The park is well maintained and nice. We really enjoyed our time here and look forward to coming back.

What an awesome playground! Love how clean the Playground is. This park has sand area, and water fountain for the kids to play with. The logs and rocks are so much fun for all ages to climb on, under and around. This park encourage children to play creatively and connect with nature.

Large, Large park with some cool water features and foot bridges. My softball team plays here occasionally and we hear and see McLoughlin traffic pass by. Sometimes they honk! Lush grass, nicely maintained fields. There are toilets with proper plumbing in a brick building. Large duck pond, too. Not that beautiful and plenty of goose and duck poop surrounding it. Beware.

This is a great park. Good for walking and playing games in the field. The wildlife are amazing to look at in the small stream that runs through it. They have a unique and genius set up for the kid area. A sand pit and logs/small rock wall to climb on. Around 10 blocks from Antique row.

An early morning stroll offers the best views.

We were not disappointed in the slightest! Most of the park is up on a hill which if I recall correctly is an extinct volcano. The reservoirs are very cool to look at and walk around at. There is all kinds of paths you can walk around in and even minor hikes of a urban sort if you want to look at it that way as if you want you can walk uphill for quite a while. If you roam around the park you can see beautiful views of downtown Portland which is very enjoyable to see. I definitely recommend visiting this park and it has the appeal where it will attract tourists and locals alike as it is just that kind of a special place!

The structure seems more appropriate for 2.5 and older. It has a pretty cool rock climber for older kids. My experience makes me wonder if there are parks in Portland that are more inclusive for all children and their abilities? I hope that Portland Parks and Recreation would be willing to rethink how they can be more inclusive when designing a park.
