If I could give zero stars to this doctor I would. Dr. Caroline Hernandez is a completely unknowlegable doctor and passes judgement on patients in her notes. My first appointment, she was very transactional and very I interested and distant. Only taking to her laptop and barely looking up from her computer sounding like a robot and not personable one bit. That appointment lasted all about 15 minutes and she in that 15 minutes already determined that She will take me off of 2 medications I have been on and one that I have used occasionally and safely for many years without question. In between appointments, I had called for a refill on prescription and was called back and told the doctor will be taking me off the medication and will no longer be filling. My 3 month follow up was just as upsetting and disappointed. I questioned the doctor why I had such a message of she was not going to refill a prescription and she did not have a valid andswer besides it's addictive and blah blah. I was on the lowest dosage and never over requested for refills. Sometimes going months between. Was told I need to see a psychiatrist and made the referral. Later, I was reviewing my medical records for another procedure I was having, I discovered this Doctor noted in my records that I had a dependency and addiction to the medication all off of a 15 minute conversation. When discussing this with the psychiatrist she referred the psychiatrist she referred said the previous doctor couldn't be more incorrect and she sees absolutely NO SIGNS of dependency and said that the doctor can update her records and if she needs to talk to her to reach out. I sent a message to the doctor via her patient portal and asked her to correct her records because I do not want dependency or addiction accusations following me for the future and the doctor refuses to make corrections and came up with some bullshit reasons why it's not as bad as it seems. Dr. Hernandez needs to educate herself more on treating her patients and improve her bedside manner. I will never go back to this clinic. She did no kind of treatments or attempts to help her patient but just passed judgement and refusing treatments that works for the patient in the past. read more

Dr. Hernandez and staff is very unprofessional. Can't seem to communicate appointments and needs of their patients. Getting seen or a Rx refill is like having teeth pulled. Great practice if you never need to be seen! Worst experience ever! Skip this one, save your time. Never gets back to you. Made my first appointment in August 2016 after moving to the area for a basic woman's well check. At appointment gave my medical history and explained my needs to the examining RN. Was advised to schedule the Pap, mammogram and blood work. That appointment was not communicated, showed up and Dr didn't know why I was there. I was sent to get the mammogram and blood work outside of the practice and was rescheduled for the pap. I got all my exams done and scheduled my appointment for the pap. Was called a day before appointment and was told I needed to reschedule that the Dr. Would not be in. Ok rescheduled, at this point I'm frustrated it's nothing big getting this done but it's has taken months at this point. Go in for 4th appointment and am told that they tried to call to reschedule yet again that the Dr wasn't in. 5th appointment just a week later and I'm not on the books. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm finally seen only took 6 months to have a normal pap done. Trying to get a simple Rx refilled is pulling teeth. Hardest practice to work with. You will have to be assertive and be demanding for the simplest things. Thank god I'm healthy. read more

My go-to is Mr. Jerry Burris, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and he has been awesome! This clinic recently moved to 1919 Rogers Road so its still close to the Alamo Ranch area. The front office (Pearl and Mary) along with the back office staff (Becky and Cathy) complement a team that has always provided me with the best service and professional courtesy. They accept Humana Tricare (my insurance). I won't go any place else. They also are good about getting you in when there are appointment cancellations. read more

Let me begin by saying that my visit with Dr. Hernandez was the worst! The first day I went, it took the front staff 30 minutes to provide me with new patient paperwork and ONLY because I mentioned that I had been waiting for quite a long time after my scheduled appt. Otherwise, they probably wouldn't have ever noticed. The front desk lady blamed the previous staff member that failed to assist me with paperwork when I first arrived...very unprofessional! Then when I finally met the doctor, she seemed very distant, uninterested, and her hygiene was awful. If you are familiar with hormone therapy and the details of a patient's hormonal history, you would know that it doesn't take a doctor 5 minutes to consult during this delicate stage of a woman's life. She then ordered some bloodwork and I had to make the call to find out if the results were in and proceeded to schedule an appt for pellet insertion. They did not call me, I TOOK INITIATIVE ON MY OWN! When I went for the 2nd time to receive the pellet, guess what?? Someone messed up my bloodwork! Yeah! I understand we are not perfect, BUT being a professional, preparation is vital when dealing with people and their needs. It seems to me that Dr. H did not prepare herself before my appt and frankly it leads me to believe that she NEVER prepares before her day begins. My husband took half a day off just to take me to my appt and to find out that nothing will be done to me that day. It could have been prevented if ONLY Dr. H would have looked at my info and notice that there was a problem. So, I get bloodwork ordered again, (free of charge), is how they called it.. that's a laugh! When my results came in, I was called to go in and have my procedure done. I walk in and a front desk clerk tells me I need to fill out paperwork and I said no...I already did. It just gives me this disgusting sense that this office is not organized at all! I finally see the doctor, and let me just say that before any procedure is done to a patient, their vitals should be checked, NOTHING! Did I mention I have a history of high blood pressure and taking medication? Yeah, go figure! So, to my appalling experience, the doctor comes in and asks the same questions she asked on our first visit, which were about 4 in total. She then asked if i were pregnant or thinking about conceiving.... and I told her that I did mention that in the 10-15 page paperwork I filled out on my first visit that my husband had a vasectomy. Which, again, makes me wonder, "What's the purpose of filling out paperwork, if you're not gonna review my symptoms and past history?" Dr. H did not sit down with me to go over my bloodwork results or even showed me the results. When I asked her if I needed to take progesterone, she LIED to me and said I did not need it, but the fact of the matter, is that she didn't test it. Unless, I read the bloodwork results wrong or that she didn't review the results with me, there is no indication that my progesterone level was tested. When one is tested for hormone therapy...ALL HORMONE levels should be tested! She then continues with the procedure without telling me how many pellets she was inserting until I asked her while doing the insertion. I asked the nurse to give me a copy of my bloodwork results after the doctor left. No aftercare instructions were provided to take home. Let me just say....A $45 travel facial cream promotion package isnt going to satisfy ALL the wrong and mistakes made by Dr. H and her staff. read more

POOR.... Most unprofessional doctor I have ever dealt with. I am a self pay and they gladly took my $150 for my initial visit in April 2013 and when I went to have my RX filled which is a maintenance medication for ADHD and they did not write it out correctly, I had to go back to the office have them rewrite the RX which was not going to be done until the following day because the doctor had left for the day. This was before noon. My second appointment was in May, no worries, so I thought, they had provide a urine sample and I left with my RX. I went to my June appointment and saw physician assistant, she said the doctor was not in and she had to write the RX, and asked if I could come back and pick it up, they would call me. 6 days later I never received a call, so I called them. I was told they could not write the RX because my urinalysis came back positive. WTH?? That was back in May and they are just telling me now. Oxycontin, Methadone and Marijuana ---- seriously, I called them back several times trying to speak with the doctor, and I was told that she would call me back, and that I could come in and retest. When I question as to why I was not told about the positive urinalysis prior to my June appointment. I was told that it sometimes takes a while to get the results back and that they had just received them. I told them there was no way anything other than the Oxycontin should have come back, because I was in a car accident in Jan and they were aware that I was taking pain meds and they even wrote out a RX for a muscle relaxer in May. Over a week went by and the doctor still never returned my calls, until I called and requested a copy of my records, the name of the company they used for the testing and I wanted proof of their chain of custody, because I remember just handing the nurse a unmarked & unsealed urine sample. The doctor then told me that they never charged me for the urinalysis and that they had done a preliminary screening in the office and someone had placed the results in the file from May. So basically I was completely lied to by the staff. They are totally unprofessional and I am filing a complaint with the Texas Medical Board against them and with the BBB. BE WARNED. read more
