Large screen, large seating area, staggered seats, good sound system, friendly staff, and candy dishes in the lobby. I like that it's only a single screen theater, it not only reminds me of the old days but I don't have to worry about sound from a next door theater leaking through. The lobby and bathrooms have a fun collection of old movie posters and headshots, including one of my all time favorite movies - Paper Moon. The Back Lot is new and has comfortable seats, though not recliners. They show more artsy, indie films back there, or movies that have outlived the necessity for the larger seating capacity, and it's cozy. I think it seats 45 people or so. The only drawback to the theater is the bathroom location for the main theater. It's upstairs up a large flight of stairs with narrow steps. My mom hates going up the stairs, even after the film when there's time to navigate the steps. It's definitely a better/quicker trek than the bathrooms at Plaza Frontenac theaters but difficult for people with limited mobility.

I love the art deco lamps and style that was sprinkled throughout the building, but especially in the actually theater room. It was nice to watching jazz sad songs and looking over at the deco lamps faintly glowing - such a vibe! The theater I was in was also small (Dreamlounger), so I think it's great spot of solo movie dates. My husband and I don't have the same taste in films, so I found these much better than the larger theater rooms. I hope to watch Six the Musical here if that's an option! Note: I think staffing shortages are hitting all movie theaters because even if you have a ticket already, you still need to check in with the Box Office. Oh - also, there is so much parking!

Had some cocktails (ask about the specials). Ordered some foods and later came back for popcorn and candy. I will say their brand of popcorn and "butter" is way better than b&b theatre. Yes this trip was costly, but we had some gift cards. We should all be able to enjoy ourselves and have a good time without fearing the price tag every once in awhile. On a practical note, there is a half circle of parking spaces right in front of the hall, and I've never had trouble finding a spot. Screenings always start at 7 or 7:30, so I recommend Cyranos (who have a decent Happy Hour) right up the street first for a quick bite / drink if you wanna make an evening of it.
