I remember when Marcus used to be Chesterfield 14. I have found the establishment very clean, the seats comfortable and food offerings very good. I recently had the grilled cheese deluxe and found it quite tasty! The prices for food are high as expected for a theater, as the norm it is these days. I have enjoyed coming here to see a few shows. My favorite theater closed so now going to Marcus in Chesterfield Valley. There is something special watching a movie in a big theatre filled with people eating popcorn and drinking soda. I have been to see the Barbie movie and Despicable Me 4 here over the past year-ish. There are some movies that a person has to see in the theater to fully experience. Being able to see the story unfold on screen in an immersive way, without the distractions of home, is a treat. As for this specific Marcus theater, it is probably the most convenient location in the area, since the closure of the AMC at Chesterfield Mall (RIP). Reserving seats online is a breeze, however, it sometimes requires a close look at the seating chart as the diagram is not always intuitive. I don't go for the concessions so I can't speak to the pricing or quality of those, but I will say the theater is clean with lots of options for showtimes. read more

Customer service on the other hand cheated me out of a Movie Club ticked. They admit it is their fault, but then refuse to reimburse or reinstate the ticket cost. Certainly lost the business of this annual movie club customer, along with the multitude of friends and family I have been taking. Big disappointment. The sound level in the Final Mission Impossible film (especially during the orchestral BACKground tracts was literally painfully loud. I went to a weekday matinee and I had to hold my hands over both ears to get any kind of relief. the next time I'll have a factory type headset to prevent possible damage but I really, really resent that and I'll be looking on the internet for other who agree with me. This is the closest movie theater to our house so it's the one we go to more often than others. It's convenient to buy tickets ahead of time and walk right in. The lobby is large and isn't usually crowded. We don't always buy snacks, but when we do, the service is usually fairly quick and efficient. The individual theaters are relatively clean - I've seen far worse at other cinemas. I find the reclining seats to be pretty comfortable. Overall, it's a decent experience! read more

This is our go to movie theatre in Chesterfield. We prefer going on Tuesdays since it's $5 movie tickets and $5 large popcorn for members. Being a member does not cost anything, you just sign up online and it's worth it! We try to go once a month to get out of the house and see something new. The theatre is always well kept and clean. The seats are leather recliners & they always have enough staff to where the lines are not crazy long. While I will say I know that movie theaters are not as busy as they used to be, we really have never had to wait in line for tickets, snacks, or the restroom which is great! read more

The UltraScreen has laser projection now. It's my go-to for anything that doesn't need to be seen in Digital IMAX (LieMax) at the Marcus Ronnie's. The seats recline (unlike Ronnie's). The only other options for laser projection that I'm aware of are the Alamo Drafthouse at City Foundry and the B&B where the West Olive 16 was. I was sad to see Wehrenberg go...but Marcus has improved and upgraded just about everything. I'd take the Wehrenberg Whisper over the Greg Marcus Schtick, but that's the only thing, honestly. Plenty of parking. Place is kept clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. read more

This was my 1st time going here and it will be my last. It was a Thursday evening and I was trying to reserve tickets for the next day to see a movie with my kids. I normally don't go to this theater since I live about 35 minutes away. However, all the theaters closer to us were sold out for the movie we wanted to see. Their website was a bit confusing and I was trying to rush because seats were limited and I needed to reserve the last 4 seats they had together. After the order was placed I looked at my receipt and saw it was for that evening and not for the next day (Friday), which was what I thought I booked it for. I immediately placed a new order for the correct day and time and then tried to cancel or refund the incorrect order. That's when I discovered you can't cancel or refund an order if it's within 30 minutes of the start time of the movie. For my order l, it was placed within 20mins of the start time. Since I live 35 mins away, there is no way I could ever make that even if I wanted to. I was hoping an exception could be made since I placed a new order for the correct day/time, which further proves the first order was made by mistake. I reached out to their online chat. They refused to refund the order and were snippy and rude about it. I then escalated it up by emailing their customer support. They also refused to refund the order. They were not willing to budge on their policy. Not even for an honest mistake. This was my first time going to this theater and it will be my last. Not a good experience at all! read more

I am giving them 5 stars for the actual mega screen theater. This theater is awesome! I love the couples seats at the top; two seats with no one beside you or behind you! My kind of seat! The screen is enormous and sound is amazing! This theater had food and alcohol, but the food is kind of nasty. We got there late so we had to get something to eat. Hubby got hotdogs and I watched this guy. It took him forever to pick up a hot dog and put it in a bun. I swear he was making love to it! I had a salad and it was swimming in dressing! They might as well have given me the bottle and just let me drink it. I threw it away. Okay, I know this isn't a 4 star restaurant, but sheesh, at least make it eatable. The crew behind the counter were very nice, but had no business handling food. lol Just went to see Blade Runner and the Mega theater is closed for renovations. I've been to this theater twice now and it has been a pleasant experience both times. For the movies I wanted to see, the prices were actually cheaper here than in St. Charles where I live. Go figure. Anyway, bathrooms were pretty clean and theaters were pretty clean as well. There's nothing like greasy, smelly popcorn theater carpet. Thankfully this place doesn't have that smell. The reclining seats are very comfortable and not raggedy. If you're tired, they may be a little too comfy. Zzz! The screens are large with no obstructed views, like plexiglass that some AMC theaters have. The audio highs are clear, speech is easily heard and understood, and lots of punch from the subs on the low end. read more

In all honesty, the movie hasn't even started yet... and I'm not thrilled. I got a soda, popcorn, and a hotdog, for $20.12. The dog was passable for a gas station hot dog, and passed for sustenance but little more. The popcorn is not even room temperature... but colder. I shudder to think if I had purchased ticket to their Five Star Lounge (which is what I thought I had, at least that's what Fandango told me I had for Star Trek, The Motion Picture). Instead I paid a premium fee for a 40 year old movie with popcorn that could have been cryogenically frozen 40 years ago. One of the speakers sounds blown too. Or it could be bad sound from the pre-show. If the movie starts and it's still horrible, I'm not even giving this a chance. Super clean lobby and concession area, very personable employees that appear to love their job, clean reclining seats and movies that start on time. A solid 4 stars! The only drawback is that these reclining theater seats are narrower than some other theaters and you feel like you're getting up close & personal with your seat mate when enjoying a movie alone. Lucky for me, today's movie had plenty of open seats, so I moved to one that didn't have anyone sitting next to it. Problem solved! I have to give a shout out to the two friendly and enthusiastic boys that entered theater 13 to clean after the 1:30 pm showing of "Where Did You Go, Bernadette?" today. With big smiles on their faces, they wished every single person that passed them a nice day, asked if they enjoyed the movie and asked them to rate it, which elicited some unexpected conversation. I lied....Galaxy is definitely one of the best theaters in the Greater St. Louis area. Customer service is prompt, efficient and friendly; not common among all theaters. They have an in-house diner Fred's that ROCKS out burger orders so fast you'll flip. Now I've never tried the food so I can't comment on how good or bad it may taste but I'll tell ya this..it smells tantalizing. I can hear the grease popping, fries dropping and burgers sizzling as I walk past and it's pretty tempting; except I don't do burgers. But if I did I'd do Fred's burgers for sure. Back to my original point, Galaxy's theaters are all spacious and comfortable. No recliners (which cost an entire star), awesomely large screens and pretty trippy décor. They made a real effort to make it a nice experience for their customers. The food on the menu is mostly fried but for what it is it is rather tasty. For instance: I had a fried shrimp basket and fries. Both were very good and I was so surprised! They did not knock me out but by it's greatness but it is better then average bar food let alone movie food. Maybe I don't have anything to compare this kind of theater to... I realize there is at least one venue downtown that has couches and waitress service. Either way this place was SO comfy and felt so private as the seats are grouped 2 to 3 at a time, like little islands. The waitresses were very quiet and only take orders before the movie. They removed items very quietly. I didn't even notice them. The screen itself is not huge but the quality is very good. I would recommend anyone I know to try it. I wouldn't go here looking to save money or for a bargain but rather just for the fun of it. We had to skip the sushi after the movie because I actually ate what I ordered here. HA! TLDR: Arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes (up to 30 minutes) before movie to get your seats and order from the waitress. It was a fun experience and very comfortable. Great date night experience. When it comes to movie theaters I don't really have high standards; give me a place to sit, some snack, an unobstructed view and I'm good to go. However, when I visited the Wehrenberg Theatres Chesterfield Galaxy 14 Cine for the first time I was quite impressed. The first thing I noticed was that their food menu included more items than I would typically expect to see at the movies. In addition to that, they actually cook the food in front of you, rather than it being already cooked earlier and just sitting there all day. The prices were reasonable for theater pricing. Once inside the theater I noticed that all the seats looked relatively new with barely any wear and tear. They all recline all the back with the push of a button and possess a built in heater incase you want to toast your buns. Everything was well spaced out and I had the perfect setting to enjoy the movie I watched. read more

On Tuesday I went to a movie with some coworkers. I went up to get my ticket ripped only to get told that my bag was too big. I had been on their website the night before looking at the movies and food selection and it had said nothing about this policy about bags. While they do list it on their Facebook page, I look on their main page to find out this information. I talked to a manager about my bag because I had my medicine for my migraines and my tablet which I wasn't going to leave in my car; where someone might break in or because it was pretty cold that night and electronics can have issues with cold weather. I said I would be willing to have my bag checked. The manager said that they couldn't check my bag and that they could either refund my ticket or that I could return my bag to my car. I wasn't going to leave because I was here with some coworkers and so I was frustrated and went to my car, found some such grocery bags that I hadn't yet recycled, placed my belongings in their and marched back in. I proudly walked around with my tablet in the bags because I was not about to leave that prized possession in my car. If they are going to have this notice on their Facebook page they also need to have on their webpage especially for those who may not have Facebook. I talked to many movie goers who had to do the same thing. This is opening others up to having their cars broken in to. I understand that they are doing this because of the threats they were getting and so I am not down playing that at all, but they need to give people more warning ahead of time. I do enjoy and will return to this movie theatre but I use their website when I keep up information. I don't like having lots of things going through Facebook. This movie theatre was not ready for the Avengers Endgame opening weekend. This place was a hot mess to say the least. The theatre released 7am tickets on their "fancy" Ultascreen DLX auditorium. Over 200+ Avengers fans forked up their money, woke up early just to see a movie with a decent movie-going experience. What ended up happening was the audio cutting out every few minutes, if not every few seconds during the previews! An associate came up saying it would be fixed before the movie came on. Of course this didn't happen and it continued throughout the movie. They offered us free passes but as this was during a trip to the St. Louis area, passes would be if no use to us. They offered to put us into a 7:30 showing at a regular screen (smaller, not DLX format) which we accepted. The movie went off without a hitch for about 10mins into the movie. What happened next was the audio cutting off entirely and the house lights coming on. It boggles my mind that a theatre chain has this many technical difficulties for such a high profile movie such as Avengers. If your movie theatre cannot handle movie showings round the clock, your systems won't be lasting very long. read more

Great for daughter's birthday! For her 13th birthday our daughter asked for Sky Zone, dinner at Steak n Shake, and a movie at Marcus... with some friends. How could we refuse? Since Marcus has taken over Wehrenberg's theaters, we have come to love $5 Tuesday's (when homework allows), $4 unlimited popcorn refills with the bucket, the heated recliner seats and more! For our daughter's birthday, we are also very thankful the lady in the main office who helped us plan and get seats for the movie, "The Greatest Showman," confirming the dates and seats more than a week out. The kids and also Mom and Dad had a great time and Mom and Dad loved knowing we had the seats for the show booked well before the bday party. Thanks for the help! Additional thoughts... We have enjoyed movies at Wehrenberg for years so we were skeptical about the purchase by Marcus AND we now know that Marcus is AWESOME. We also like: - Every seat is a recliner... and they are heated, too - The Des Peres theater lobby has been NICELY renovated while retaining that awesome chandelier - They have a deal where you purchase a plastic bucket for $25 and then only spend $4 to get unlimited refills at each future movie - $5 each ticket all day Tuesday - Reserved seating - Showing of new movies and some classics (please show more classics!) - The lady in the main office was a big help planning our daughter's movie for her birthday, with friends - The big screen for "The Greatest Showman" was an awesome experience So while we realllllly miss the Wehrenberg song playing before each movie (you really can bring that back Marcus, and play the Wehrenberg theme song AND your neat Marcus tune/intro), we also like seeing Mr. Marcus' smiling face at the start of the shows. Wow! I saw The Good Liar here a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed myself immensely. The other day I was persuaded to see a movie at another theatre and boy, I spent the whole time wishing I was sitting at a Marcus theatre. No reclining seats, a broken seat, no reserved seats, no leg room in aisles, lights were on too long into movie, too many lines to get into the movie........I could go on and on. TL:DR - 4 stars in comparison to other area theaters. Consistently clean with comfy chairs and great movie options. $5 Tuesday value is nearly impossible to beat. I usually don't write reviews of movie theaters, but after experiencing a bad one, I had to let people know about the good ones. I think ratings are relative sometimes, 4 stars here doesn't mean it's like an amazing clean theater that serves you champagne on your birthday, but that compared to other theaters, this does the basics really really well, but not perfectly. And the basics to me are, is this place comfortable, does it have all the new amenities we've come to expect from a theater (reserved seating, reclining seats, bigger screen, variety of snacks, etc.), is it clean, does it offer a good selection of movies, etc. And this does all those extremely well if not perfectly. Compared to other theaters, I've never had an issue with the cleanliness of my seat. Would I eat the popcorn off the floor? No, but the floor has never been noticeably sticky and cup holders/seats have always been relatively free of debris when I find my seat. This theater is also great in that it has two imax sized screens (but not actually imax format) and is part of the Marcus Theaters company which has $5 Tuesdays, where all tickets for all movies, no matter the format, are $5. You simply cannot beat this. In addition, movie rewards members get free small popcorn and other savings at the concession stand. All in all, this is my go to theater. read more
