Since the new owners took over the bowling alley, the vibe has totally changed. All the old employees are gone and it's a completely new crew -- and honestly, they don't seem to know how to fix or maintain things. On top of that, the prices have gotten ridiculous. It's around $40 an hour plus $5 per person for shoe rental -- so for a family of four, that's close to $60 an hour just to bowl. Who can afford that anymore? We had my son's birthday party there Saturday (he turned 30). There were also a lot of children and grandchildren. Westside did great! We had a very fun time and they set up tables with plates and everything for us. We ordered pizza (3 kinds) and all of it was a good value - large, lots of toppings, delicious! Service is great, considering they are seriously understaffed when busy. Bartenders are great, but get embarrassed by the poor quality food that is served. Everything seems like it is microwaved. Even the burger patty on their burgers. I usually do not write reviews, but the food is mediocre. Washing your hands in the men's room is also a challenge. Water stays on about 1 second. I noticed most of these reviews are 5+ years old or olde. Westside has had up's and down's like most businesses but overall they are consistently a good time for the family. There is always going to be some teenager with no customer service skills usually because it's their first job, and leagues have been going on since the dawn of bowling hasn't changed. It might be a little late for some when leagues are over, it's just the beginning of the fun. With great music and next level light effects and a respectable good time crowd it is the place to be. As for the karaoke, he has won Missoula's Best for over 25 or more years in a row. Truly one of the nicest people I've ever met with some of the sweetest high-end equipment I've ever seen on any karaoke stage anywhere. I spent nearly 4 hours with my granddaughter yesterday. The bowling lanes are great. The arcade with a lot of fun for the two of us. They had a good variety of games even though it was a relatively small arcade. When all the gentlemen took the time to help us find bowling balls that would fit. read more

This place should be absolutely embarrassed!! The staff is rude and unprofessional! The young boy was eating in our face while trying to get lanes. We had 30 people coming and he responded "not gonna happen" while there were multiple open lanes. After speaking with another employee we were charged for 6 lanes instead of the 5 we requested. Went back up and the man who rang us up says "we don't do cash refunds it's pre pay sorry" so after arguing that it was not our mistake he gives us a free game on one lane instead of cash... not ideal but it was not going through his head that it was his mistake. Not even 10 minutes later he comes back up and says he made a mistake again and we couldn't have the free game... so I had to explain to him again that this was his fault and I needed cash back and he offered me $80 back for 2 games and 6 shoes... We used to come here a lot but since they switched to the pre pay and stopped doing reservations it has been a horrible experience and we will not be back read more

Westside has a very "dive" vibe: cheap bowling, cheap beer, and it's open until 2am every night of the week. It's also more fun than Christmas morning. My boyfriend and I ended up here at least once a week. We loved having someplace to go that stays open late enough that we could stop by and have some fun before heading home for the night. Also, we could afford to hang out here. It is kinda like a bar with activities. The karaoke is pretty damn entertaining as well. I have been coming to westside since I was young and it was always a great and fun family friendly place! I now have a child of my own and I no longer feel comfortable bringing my kid here. It's one thing to see strangers with clothing so short on that their butt cheeks are hanging out. I can't do anything about that. At least half the games/machines don't work or don't work properly every time we visit, so this is the last time. They were unwilling to provide a ball lighter than 8 lbs for my elderly mother, saying they don't give lighter balls to people under the age of ten. Took my daughter in to play the arcade games and eat some lunch. I asked a question about something on the menu and I kid you not, I've never been talked to like I was so stupid in my life.... You know it's bad when your 7 year old comments on how rude someone is. After 15 minutes, we hadn't received our food and I went to check if it was done.. instead of bringing it out to us, they'd plated it and just set it on their back counter (not under a heat lamp). We weren't given or offered silverware or napkins, and I had to go into the bar to request them. On the bright side, the bartender was extremely friendly... After our meal, my daughter went to ask for a box and was ignored for close to five minutes while they worked around her. It's a shame, the bowling alley isn't bad, arcade is alright, food is pretty decent, but we won't eat there again with the horrible service we received. I currently have a complaint in with the owner about this. I chatted with most people in the lounge along with the bartenders and they all say the same thing, he's been doing it for too long and plays "favorites".
