My mom and I came in to have some tea as I'd seen the Taste of the Tri-Cities scone/tea promo ($10…read morefor choice of tea, 2 buttermilk scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam) on their Instagram. The service was super friendly, coming by to check in how the food was and refilling our tea. We shared one combo (there was a variety of tea to choose from and we opted for the Cherry Blossom Green tea which was light and floral) and also tried their feature cupcake of the month (Strawberry Matcha, while not very matcha-y, the strawberry buttercream was delightful). I loved the Royal Albert plates and teacups they used as well as the cozy interior with Parisian decor elements. It wasn't busy on a Sunday afternoon and I'd definitely recommend this quaint spot for a lovely teatime break!

It had chocolate buttercream filling (I think it was anyway) and possibly vanilla buttercream icing on the outside. Didn't taste like buttercream so I'm not sure. When I got the cake, the motorcycle was a photo on fondant, which is okay I guess, but then it had a huge "Indian Motorcycles" across the top. It looked like an advert for Indian motorcycles. So I had to take that off. The decoration was minimal and boring, but what really got me was the taste. Oh I'm sorry, WHAT taste? The cake was dry and so was the buttercream filling. I didn't realize it was possible to have dry icing. I was soooo disappointed. Plus I couldn't believe this cake cost me $235. Never again.

I couldn't pick just one pastry so went for four - ube croissant, kouign amann, ham and cheese, and the double baked almond croissant. First off, I have to say that all of their pastries had an excellent flaky crunch - light and airy, with every layer defined and crunchy. The inside was soft and not too chewy or dense at all. All of the pastries were like a dream - I finally understand the hype around croissants. If I had to pick a favourite, it would probably be the kouign amann - it was my first time trying this type of pastry and it won't be my last. I was very satisfied with my entire order at Elmo's and I'll be returning!

Baked with pistachio frangipane & filled with kataifi folded with pure pistachio paste & tahini, with milk chocolate rocher glaze. I discovered Elmo baking co when they had a pop up at Richmond location, long time ago. Then, I have always visited their pop up at other shop and I was so happy they opened their own shop. I usually liked their double baked items. This Pistachio Rocher croissant is based on Dubai chocolate. Dough was crispy. Chocolate glaze was very good. The filling Kataifi with pistachio paste and tahini - I prefer a bit more sweetness in it. The pistachio paste flavor dominated , if there were more sweetness , then, it might be more smoother to me . Overall , I enjoyed this item its unique flavor.
