We have only been in Trumbull one week today. Maddoxx is an Australian Shepherd, 10 months old, black tri. We were eating at Sitting Duck nearby and noticed a groomer called Wet Paws. I spoke with the lady up front and made an appointment for today at 2 pm. Welp, Maddoxx has never been groomed and freaked out. Let's say he was scared to death and acted poorly. The owner was there when I picked him up, reassured me if you can imagine, and was honestly the kindest man we have met since 2013 and moving to the NE. It is inexcusable what they did to our dog given the detailed instructions we gave them beforehand, and the call that they gave us while our dog was with them. Not only was the cut way shorter than we explained we wanted (it was essentially a shave), but there are numerous uneven clumps. Hair was cut so short that there is now raw skin on our dog's paws and leg that she is now constantly licking. Since leaving Wet Paws our dog has been acting very out of character. We were also required to pre-pay online and select a tip amount before the services, which is ridiculous...they said they never received when we got there, even though we had received confirmation of it being submitted. Not submitting photos to protect our dog's anonymity, but will NOT be returning. read more

GREAT GROOMER! We've been to a few groomers in the Shelton area now and this is one of our favorites. Our 32 lbs. Mini Aussie has separation anxiety and a general fear of anything that sounds like a vacuum, so grooming tends to be an adventure. Wow does this place do it right! It was my first appt for our fur baby, Bugsy. Olivier, one of the owners, was friendly, professional and very welcoming. The salon is immaculate and well decorated. I dropped him off at 11:00 for a wash-n dash service and at 12:07, I received a text message that he would be ready at 12:15! When I arrived, Bugsy was lounging on the bed. It was great to see him so comfortable there. He looked and smelled amazing and was rockin' a festive holiday bandana. The service was only 30 dollars. Did not have another appt available for six weeks and would not accommodate my request for consideration to squeeze me in. They clearly do not need the business. They require a credit card on file BEFORE you even get an appointment. Did receive a phone call from the owner to tell me I would be charged for missing the appointment. Could do much better. They were recommended by our vet in Easton. 2 giant Newfoundland's matted up pretty bad. The wet paws crew waded through the mess and returned our pups shaved and comfortable. Mission accomplished Unlike our previous groomers that did nothing but complain, they just did the job. Great open space without cages and a bunch of scared dogs. Very disappointed with the owner & how they clearly don't value clients. I had an appt for March 11th was told when we walked in my appt was the previous day & they "texted me a bunch" did not reCieve any messages from them. Was told they could squeeze my dog in but would be there for 6 hours lol I asked to rebook was shooed and told to do it online. I walked out frazzled and confused thinking I was in the wrong but when checking my emails realized that they cancelled my appt. Usually I'd be super flexible but my dog is getting surgery and this grooming session is important. Emailed / texted & called of course no answer. I was a bit embarrassed to go in with my girl bc she was quite matted which isn't normal for us. I had a baby 8 weeks ago and so I didn't have the time to brush her out like I normally do. Got an appt the same morning I called. It's a very cute and friendly place and they even let the dogs get to know each other and play around behind the gate. My dog came home smelling SO good!! I spent $40 and it was definitely worth! Con: The only downside to this groomers was how long it took. My appt was scheduled for 9AM and then I got a text 1 hour later later saying my appointment for "10:30AM was confirmed." And my dog wasn't finished until 11AM. So it was very confusing and 2 hours seemed a little long for what was done. read more

We love Wet Paws! We've been taking our Doberman puppy Cash to get his nails cut since we got him almost 3 months ago (He's 5 months now). As new pet parents it's a little nerve wracking finding someone you trust to take care of your pet. Cash gets excited every time he comes in (sometimes he pees a little) and the staff is great with his high energy (and his drama). They get his nails clipped nice and quick every time. We just recently scheduled him for a wash and dash. They accommodated his needs with sensitive skin shampoo and and came home clean and happy with a new bandana :) I love that they let some of the dogs walk around while the others are being groomed. It's great for socialization for our young pup. They also asked for updated vaccination records which is always a green flag with groomers! Will of course be taking our pup back. I only wish my boyfriend tipped more! read more

We're so impressed with this grooming salon, and will definitely be bringing our Eleanor - and our other two pups - back. The salon itself is clean and nicely appointed, the online booking system is seamless, the owner is incredibly friendly, the groomers are highly skilled and really great with the dogs, they have a great entry/exit system in place to prevent pups from escaping through an open door, and they have live streaming so you can watch your friend being groomed! Of course we obsessively watched while they groomed Eleanor - and she was clearly treated well and appeared relaxed, as did the other dogs that were being groomed at the same time. Honestly, grooming can be a high stress job and it says a lot about the caliber of service here that they're willing to be so transparent. Prices are great, too. Disappointed. 2 stars for trying but that may be generous. They claim to work with difficult dogs. Yet, could not and did not groom nor shave, let alone trim nails or even bathe my medicated 12 pound maltese (rescue) puppy. Yes, 2 groomers tried (each for 5 minutes). Charged me $65 plus tax and offered no refund. My poor pup was returned with his body partially shaved, his head like a lion's mane and with clumps of hair dangling from one leg. read more

I really appreciated the service at this fog grooming salon. I was able to get an emergency appointment for my Havenese, and though I know she can be a handful they didn't complain at all. Also the dogs there hang out of cages together so it's like a play date too. I'll be going back. read more
