I recently bought the bagel dog bed in Burgundy for my German Shepherd. What a waste of money. It's a hair magnet for one. I thought the cover was a zip off & on to wash but NOOO. Went to Petco for a quick puppy nail clip. The groomer is only there from 12-6 so arrived at 1:30. Was told she was going on break and to return at 2. Groomer didn't seem friendly or to really care. Not sure if other Petcos are the same but can't recommend this one. read more

The worst thing I've ever seen. They mutirated my dog. I have that poodle. When I showed the photo that I wanted, she said she would do it. My 8 month old puppy was diagnosed yesterday with allergies - we suspect apples. I called ahead about a food that I read online would work for him, but when I arrived, I saw that apples were listed in their ingredients. I was ready to panic because I have never had a dog with allergies before, and I'm a bit of a helicopter dog mom. I asked one of the sales associates for help and told him my situation. He spent a great deal of time helping me, reading ingredients with me and helping me choose the appropriate food to try for my puppy. He even stayed with me while I called the local pet store up by my house to make sure that they had this food in case it works for him; we live about 40 minutes away, but we use a vet in Trumbull because we used to live in the area and we love the service we receive...which is why we stopped here on the way home. Then, the associate gave me a manufacturer's coupon to save me some extra money. At checkout, the other associate was friendly, compassionate, and genuinely asked if I was okay because I was clearly stressed. I am so grateful for the help I received here! If you plan on getting your pet groomed please don't! I tried to overlook all the negative reviews and still gave them a chance and they were so rude! I spoke to Gizel in the grooming department and absolutely terrible experience. I'm never one to complain in retail but i've never been spoken to so disrespectfully. Please DO NOT BUY THEIR MEALWORMS Or any other worms from this place. Every time I go to buy my gecko her food the worms there are ALWAYS DEAD ( she only eats live food), ive given them multiple chances and the benefit of the doubt but this is completely unacceptable. I'm not going to continue to purchase from them and I would not recommend anyone to buy their lizards live food from them. Rude customer service. My roommate and I tried to buy a fish to observe for a school project (which we were going to take care of after the project was finished) but an employee told us she couldn't sell us the fish because she "didn't know what we were going to do with it after the project," which is really none of her business and not a good enough reason to deny us a purchase. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE by "the groomer" (no name tag) and the two managers ("we both are"), Gina and Eric. When I asked to speak to the managers, they mumbled that they "both were"; so I lack confidence that this is true. We came in for a walk-in grooming appointment - which is advertised specially for this location on their website AND ON A SIGN AT THERE ACTUAL GROOMING AREA - see sign in picture. The groomer (who's mask was under her nose and mouth both with and without customers) rudely came out and said she "wasn't taking walk-ins because she was the only groomer". When we asked why, as it was so clearly advertised EVERYWHERE, she rudely kept saying "she made the decision because she was the groomer". When pointed to the managers; they were equally as unprofessional and unhelpful - basically saying they were too afraid to instruct the groomer to fulfill Petco's advertised polices. They were both dressed like they rolled out of bed; with masks half covering their mouth and nose. They offered no apologies and when asked why they didn't at least take down the sign and edit the online ads, they had no response - like this idea was so far fetched, long-distant notion. I asked if National petco was aware they weren't honoring walk-ins, and Eric the manager said "all the complaints come back to me anyway." In summary, even if I had an appointment I wouldn't use this Petco because clearly they had no ability to follow policy or protocol. read more

I really like this petco location. It's close to my home, and it's so convenient. The store itself is very clean and the workers are very nice and helpful. They usually ask me if I need help carrying my huge bag of dog food to the car. No other petco locations have ever offered that. read more

I had brought my dog there a little Japanese chin mix they told me it would be about three hours so four hours I called them and ask them if they're ready. The girl got off the phone in about three or four minutes later came back kind of a frantic saying oh no we're not done yet with the dog I think they forgot about her and they told me to come in an hour and a half. I did but when I got there her haircut was very shaggy and very on cut like it was cut with just someone with a pair scissors they didn't know what they were doing and they told me well that's what happens because her hair is curly but that didn't make sense because A lot of dogs hair is curly and it's all symmetrical. A few maybe month or two later I went to the tractor factory to go give her shampoo in there dog facilities that you just pay a couple dollars and you can use all the dog bath and blow dryer's. And when she saw the bath she freaked out something happened while she was there that made her so afraid of the dog bath she was shaking like crazy and just trying to get out until she realized that she was OK after a while and then it was me and I wasn't going to hurt her and then she started to calm down but I don't know what they did to my dog but they terrorized her in the bath. I do not recommend them I went to another Petco before that in Fairfield and it was so hot in that building. And my dog gobbled up like a gallon of water they never gave her water except with the gerbil feeder like my dog is going to know what to do with the gerbil feeder she was so dehydrated!! I do not recommend any Petco facility as far as dog grooming these are amateurs that don't know what they're doing read more

Worst grooming experience ever! I have a golden doodle and they completely shaved her! I had to call her name to make sure it was the same dog. It's been several months and her hair just grew back. No discount or apology for the horrible grooming experience either. Will definitely not return. read more
