Through just a few verbal and visual cues we were able to help Maggie understand that she did not have to be the leader, and that we would take care of her. She drank two bowls of water. They gave them gerbil feeders to drink my dog doesn't know how to drink out of the gerbil feeder, the second time was in Bridgeport. They forgot about them after I had lunch and they told me I'll give her! After four hours, I called him and the woman was very confused. Got back on the phone and told me another hour. I went there after an hour and she had the worst chop job ever had. A shag. The lady explained to me that it's hard when the dogs hair is curly which was ridiculous. It's not that curly. It's slightly wavy even a poodle they can get straight. Mine is a Japanese , Shih Tzu mix. it looks so bad and they did not think for her and again, of course she was dying of thirst even I told her to give her a bowl of water.

At one point, there was a Dogtopia that opened up 5 min. from where I work, and I made the mistake of switching daycares because it was much closer. Wag is so much better in terms of communication and how responsive they are to anything I bring up. Plus their staff is amazing with my pup, every time we come in they know her and are so excited to see her and vice versa. She practically forgets about me when they lead her in. Lol. And she always leaves exhausted after a day here because they have so many activities and cute little crafts they do with the pups depending on which day of the week you go. Also the indoor pool. I also boarded her here for about a week during a vacation last year and felt so at ease knowing she was safe and in such good hands. I received updates constantly. That's another thing too, the text communication makes things so quick and easy, especially for appointments. Plus they keep on top of vaccinations and fecals, which is so important. You thought you did everything right by giving your dog so much love and socialization only to now be faced with questions and comments like " why didn't you just train your dog ?" , " you're not the alpha to your dog", " you shouldn't be a dog owner" on a regular basis. I have a 6 year old boxer ( the social , goofy clowns of the dog breeds) . I've worked with dogs in the past as a kennel attendant, and grown up with dogs my entire life and never thought I would be in this situation . I struggled to find a trainer whose techniques showed progress which lead to inconsistency, a lot of frustration and doubt . Eventually taking him places like the vet and groomer caused me such extreme anxiety. When I met Tom , my dog was unapproachable by strangers , including Tom initially. It took a month or so of meeting up , going on walks and practicing techniques at home but I was seeing improvement! Not long after Tom was able to take the leash from me and walk Gus, and we could walk near other people without Gus acting like a total maniac , lunging , barking and snapping. It was like he was a normal (ish) dog . Gus is 6 , so it will be a slow process to break him out of this behavior , but he has improved so much in the last 6 months .. I never thought I would get this far. I still have my work cut out for me but this training has also helped me increase my confidence as a dog owner and learn to trust my dog again. I'm not longer so nervous to take him out on walks because I feel like I'm in control.( Holding back an 80 pound boxer is not an easy task ) . I definitely recommend Tom if you are struggling with a similar situation. It probably has been the best thing I have ever done for Gus!

Not only did the groomer cut one of his nails so short that it bled, but after the bath large patches of skin and fur started FALLING OFF of our dog and he needed to be rushed to the vet to see what was wrong. According to our vet in Stratford, it appears whatever cleaner/soap was used was expired or contaminated with some bacteria and caused an infection in multiple large areas of his skin. I am absolutely enraged by this situation and will be telling everyone I know in the area to stay far far away from this place... I am in absolute shock and cannot believe this. Not even an offer to give us our money back... $200 for this butcher job and another $700 at the vet because of the infection that this place caused. Absolutely horrible experience, legit -0/10.
