I have been a fan of the morning show for years. They are all absolutely hilarious. Every morning I look forward to starting my day with a laugh. I was at WGN studios in the early 70's to see Bozo's Circus. Unfortunately Bozo wasn't there that day so it never got broadcast. We sat in the front row and I was picked to be Mr Ned's helper during "Commercial Break". I got to hold the microphone and at the end of the show I got to lead the Grand March. I used to watch the Today Show in the morning, but I got so sick and tired of it. I wanted to see more local news and now so much national/celebrity crap. WGN Morning News is perfect for that. They cover local news that I actually care about! I love all of their personalities and they seem so down to earth! Oh and they make me laugh. The show really brightens my day. Still a very good news channel with the morning crew, Steve Sanders, Tom Skilling & A few others. Yes, They do show the Bozo & the other family clips of WGN's past during the holidays. Unfortunately, The Andy Griffith Show is on another channel, And no longer on late night. Since WGN decided to use CNN as their news source I can't stand to watch any of their news shows. It's turned into the " How much Trump sucks and how bad Republicans are show". I started to watch the morning show after "Fox Thing in the Morning" with Bob Sirot went off the air. Now that was a great irreverant fun show! I got used to this WGN show and after a while I grew to love it! But now I can't watch it any more. I don't need the aggravation first thing in the morning. I have been watching WGN morning news for years now and could not imagine watching any other show. However I think it's not down hill a little bit, not as much fun as they used to be. I cannot stand Dean Richards, he brings them down a star. He is so drab. Love Paul, Robin, and Larry. Was watching Saturday morning news on 10/23/21 to catch the weather forecast for the day as well as the rest of the week. At 8:19 a.m. the weather man came on and gave the forecast through Monday the 25th and ended his report with the statement "I'll give you the extended forecast coming up in a couple of minutes". At 8:30 he returned with the same forecast as before and ended it with the same "hook" for the lack of a better term. Then he returned at 8:40 and again told us he'll give us the extended forecast "coming up a bit later". So I turned to NBC and within a minute or two, I got the extended forecast. Suffice it to say I will not be watching WGN anymore. Here is how I view your station. You are just lying to your audience and if one of your reporters is lying then all of your reporters are lying. I'm well aware that your reporters just report what they are told report, so obviously its coming from the top people who are just having them lie. To sum it up, because I won't be watching WGN anymore, I won't be being lied too by you anymore. read more

WGN in the morning is always a must. They (being Robin, Larry, Paul, Pat, & Valerie) always offer up-to-the-date news but with a twist. They're serious when need be and then are hilarious the next minute. Their sarcasm and constant banter make for an excellent morning news broadcast. read more

The morning and evening news are great. The nine o'clock news is very thorough and the morning news is hilarious. For the most part I like their reporters, but Juan-Carlos Fanzul must go! I remember a few years ago he pronounced Mark Buehrle, Mark Burrell. Please keep him away from sports. I would rank them as the number one or two news operation in Chicago. read more

From great news coverage, sports, and great television shows, you really couldn't as more from a television station. Grew up watching WGN they always have the best New shows plus they rerun all the best old shows! Gotta love the news too, never been a huge fan of Skilling but I still tune in from time to time. During cubs season they play most of the games, which is Awesome!! They also show other Chicago sports teams from time to time and do very well presenting those games as well. read more

WGN TV is the best local TV station in Chicago. Their newscasts and sports programming are great.

I am from a small town in Arkansas that receives wgn on channel 307 via Directv. I love watching Corner Gas and Becker that are shown at 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 cst pm. If you want to add other showings during the day, that's fine, but why take it away from people who can only watch it in the later eveving hours? I for one will stay away from your channel until someone gets some sense and leaves Corner Gas and Becker where they are. It's bad enough we had to give it up 3 days a week for the junk you put on there Friday, Sat., and Sunday. Please consider leaving a good thing where it is. Thank you, Margo Williams read more

It's also great the Blackhawks are back on WGN, but it doesn't do any fan outside Chicagoland any good because the telecasts are blacked out - NHL "territorial rights reasons." Lame. There is little to nothing redeemable about this station. The news is as trite as any other channel (and I'm not talking about the banter, but what passes for news), they ignore a lot of important local events moments, and they play up sensationalism and human interest blah as often as possible. Just watched Val do a basically solo show. No offense to any other person on the show, but Val was fun. The show was super positive and put Chicagoans in a productive and uplifting light. Without condemning or condescending anyone, she carried the show with effortless grace. I grew up on WGN tv. Years ago they had morning and evening movies, plus great series and shows for the kids. now they are mostly news and talk. I have taken my rateings to thair new sister station Antenna tv. I think Robert Jordan is the worst dressed newsperson in the history of television journalism . He seems to not have a clue as to how to coordinate colors or accessorize.
