I purchased an item through Proxibid that Wham Auctions, Appraisals, & Real Estate has posted. Once I received the item, I noticed there was a very large piece (3 inch piece) missing from a shelf that was a 3 part set (2 shelves and 1 mirror). When I contacted the company to inform them that the item was not as described in the listing (only mentioning minor nicks) they informed me, " If you look at our pictures, you can clearly see the missing piece. We strive to describe each lot as accurately as possible. In the event we have missed something, the pictures act as a backup." In my experience with auction houses the items should be described accurately in regards to the condition they are in. In my opinion, if the damage was so clearly seen in the photo then the description should have reflected that. It seems as though they don't care enough about the item, the buyer or the seller to take the time to effectively describe a listing before posting the auction. They chose not to fix this issue or make it "right" in any way so I will no longer use their auction house again and I encourage others to beware. read more

This is the best auction company out there, kind, courteous, fair and knowledgeable,. Sure everyone makes an error sometimes and in the auction business it is always buyer beware and check and inspect everything you are going to buy. If you are not sure then skip it. I purchase a lot of items thru WHAM/Proxibid. I am not able to get to their pick ups which are always from 11-2 during the week. I have always instructed them that my items are to be given to a pick up service. There is a new person (I think Melissa) that I have to call every time I win something and have to go through a whole ordeal to get my item. It is a big pain. All I get is the runaround. read more

Two gentlemen carried a very large box to my car. Appreciate that they have staff to help move the larger items. I will watch these auctions again. read more

We made the mistake of hiring this thieving company to liquidate contents of my husband's old house. Long story short, they gave us less than half what we were supposed to receive from the sale. I recently purchased an item from wham 's online auction. It was described as a Tag Heuer watch. After paying for and picking up the watch it was evident that it was not a Tag Heuer watch but a knock off not a genuine Tag watch. I returned to the pick up area and was told to call the office. I called and left a message and was assured someone would return my call, no one has called as of yet. Nothing was said that it was a reproduction in the description. If a company that prides themselves on being experts and giving appraisals for items of this type cannot tell real from fake should post that they are not sure, instead of trying to pass it off as an original. I have been doing business with Wham for a number of years and since it changed hands it has left a lot of doubt in my mind on their competence. read more

In December, 2014, we engaged the services of WHAM Auctions, Appraisals and Real Estate, Greer, SC, to liquidate our household furnishing after downsizing. The company came highly recommended and their online reviews seemed favorable. Members of their staff were always polite and seemed willing to satisfy our concerns. However, WHAM did not fully live up to our expectations. Our auction was treated as trivial, even though they stated online "we assure any estate we handle, whether large or small, will be handled in the most lucrative manner for the seller." Their appraisal was obviously done in haste. Some antique items were put into lots and not properly described. Also, we found communication with the staff to be difficult. Our calls were not always returned in a timely manner, and after the sale we had difficulty having our house and workshop keys returned to us. One key was never returned. Anyone with a "small" property should beware. For the cost involved, our estate was not "handled in the most lucrative manner" as promised. read more
